Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: The wisdom and power of our God; Gen 1:22.

Moses taught that “the day you eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you will [mowt = die spiritually] then it says that “you will taamuwt [die physically].”

Moses taught the main principle that dying spiritually, you shall die physically.

If they [Adam and the woman Ishshah] ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and that they would die spiritually and then naturally.

We have a verse that deals with Creation in Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

If we desire to know the main reason why we have been created, we are told about the Angelic Conflict and not the Gap Theory but the Gap fact in Gen 1:2.

Gen 1:1 + Gen 1:2 = undisclosed period of time when the earth was filled with darkness and one-third of all the angels were incarcerated for their rebellion against God.

We simply have no idea about the length of time concerning the rebellion of the fallen angels and what took place during that time; Gen 1:1-2.

In Gen 1:2 we read that something happened that caused complete darkness and that our Lord had to solve the problems of man; Jer 4:23-28.

Even though man had not been created as of yet, we do know he was created some time between Gen 1:1 to Gen 1:2.

Next, in Gen 1:22, we have a challenge to humanity.

This passage reveals the wisdom and power of our God; Gen 1:22.

The Trinity is revealed and we are told that the Lord gave us the authority to man to be responsible to our Lord; Gen 1:26-27.

Then we introduce the creation of man and the fact that there is an Angelic Conflict in Gen 1:27.

In Gem 1:28, the Lord reveals to us the greatness of His grace and love to us.

In Gen 1:29, God the Holy Spirit reveals to mankind that man can have the authority to bless others and the authority to receive from others; Gen 1:29-30.

The Lord completed the work that mankind needed for the Divine Blessings; Gen 2:1-4.

These things were written not in chronological order but in the perfect order of the Trinity to worship our Lord; Gen 2:7.

As we continue to worship our Lord, the purpose of the creation of man is given beginning with Gen 2:15.

The commands and love from our God given to man in the beginning of the human race, with the freedom to choose either to follow our Lord or to live for self; Gen 2:15.

We are also given the freedom to reject or accept the plan of God for our life; Gen 2:16-17.

We also have the love and the guidance given to man and why it is not good for man to be alone; Gen 2:18.

The Lord “has” and “will have” the Divine Design given to mankind for the “Divine Purpose” of glorifying the creation of our Lord; Gen 2:18.

The first operation that ever took place is found in Gen 2:21.

The first woman that our Lord created in Gen 2:22.

The excitement of the man receiving a grace gift from the Lord to honor God; Gen 2:23.

The Lord instituted the gift of marriage to both the man and the woman; Gen 2:24.

From this section of the Word of God, we are warned about Heylel or Satan and his kingdom of darkness; Gen 3:1.

In Gen 3, we are now introduced to another creation, the serpent and his lies.

In Gen 3:2, here comes either a blessing or a curse, the introduction of the evil one himself who is called a serpent;

In Gen 3:3 we are warned about disobeying the Lord and following the wrong principles.

In Gen 3;4, we have the serpent, the devil, who is known for his lies and deceptions.

Satan uses friends and family to entice us to rebellion against the Lord, Gen 3:6.

When our Lord died, He actually died two deaths, first, a spiritual death for the sins of the world and this was followed by a physical death.

“Born Once, Die Twice, Born Twice, Die Once.”

Let me give you some insight into what our Lord said and the principle of living the spiritual life even though you may have lived it before.

This lack of interest is what many believers reject and what their Lord accomplished on the cross.

If you are only “born once” = you die twice, once at physical death and then Theologically, the Second Death; Rev 2:11; 20:6; 20:14; 21:8.

This leads us to be faithful even until death, and the Lord said; “I will give you the crown of life.”

The second death is that death that gives us light.

These passages and principles are also found at the end of the believer’s way of worshipping our Lord.

Principles that reveal what our Lord will give us as insight into whatever it is that is trying and studying the “Divine Authority” for the “Divine Design.”

Let’s take a look at the “Divine Design” that our Lord uses many times throughout human History.

1. First in Rev 20:12, our Lord is not a respecter of persons as far as His judgment is concerned.

2. It doesn’t matter whether or not they are rich or poor, our Lord is still in charge and in Acts 10:34.

3. This verse also says that there was equality and respect in Heaven revealed by the phrase in verse 12 which says that all were standing before the throne.

4. The book of Life and the book of works where the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds [ergons = their works].

Rev 21:8 — we have a description of the “Second Death;”

The second death is very unusual in the sense that it is basically not known by most believers today, but it does have some guarantees.

Some of those guarantees are based upon the success that winner believers enjoy and that winner believers will not have to worry about.

If you asked the average believer today if our Lord died for them, the majority of believers would say that they really do not believe that our Lord died for them and their loved ones.

If our Lord died for us then why do we have to die.

“If someone does something for you then why do you have to do for yourself again?”

Something will happen to cause us to be on the alert especially among your friends, family, husband, wife, your cat, your dog, even the pastor -teacher, etc.

Heaven would not be Heaven if certain ones are not with you to enjoy the blessings and the prosperity that they came from.

“I will pay all of the check for the table,” then why would someone else say “I will pay the Check” if someone already has.

Willful ignorance of doctrine which most believers are in bondage to because they do not think like the apostle Paul; Rom 12-14.

Rom 12:3 For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think;

but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith or doctrine.

The problem of being ignorant and this is one of the main reasons that even believers become arrogant.

1. In Eph 4:18, they are Darkened in their understanding;

2. They are excluded from the life of God;

3. Because of the ignorance that is in them,

4. Because of the hardness of their heart;

Notice how the apostle Paul describes the problem and then he also gives us the reasons that we need to be in touch with God.

1. Eph 4:18 = the first doctrinal evaluation where we read that believers allow negative thoughts to influence their decision making.

2. They allow certain thoughts to penetrate their soul and spirit and reject the doctrinal solutions that our Lord gave to all mankind.

The apostle Paul was very careful when he was forced to communicate the divine solutions for the problems that we need to solve = PVTD [positive volition towards doctrine].

These are believers who the apostle Paul is challenging so that they will make decisions based upon doctrine and not based upon their emotions.

In Eph 4:18 = the principle of being darkened in their understanding which refers to the negative vibes that many believers have.

“There are a lot of believers who are excluded from the life of God.”

They have the same weakness from arrogance that Satan had in Isa 14:12-14, and that is the sin of independence and the rejection of the real truth.

It is not a real truth because it comes directly from Satan and we know that he is a liar who mixes truth and error together; John 8:44.

It’s the real truth because God the Holy Spirit inspired it and He is God which means He cannot lie or even look upon sin; Hab 1:13.

(1) They are being darkened in their understanding.

(2) Excluded from the life of God.

This is the only solution for believers who have negative volition towards doctrine because their negative volition is affecting them in different realms.

“No” to God, “I will not gather together with other believers as Your Word clearly teaches that I should, however, I will do whatever I desire to do.”

1. The area of implacability which causes us to reject the divine provisions from the Lord.

Ungrateful; Forgetful; Impossible to please no matter what you do for them or what you give to them.

Our Lord taught His disciples how to handle whatever comes their way.

Blessed be the happiness’s (plural) that you possess and that you who weep now, you shall laugh.

There will always be people in your life who are never satisfied no matter what you do for them.

There will always be people in your life who complain about what we give to them.

Jer 17:9 “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?

No matter what trials, tribulations or adversities come their way, it does not change the fact that whatever they choose to do, there will be consequences.

The sin or the evil that many individuals develop as they try to fulfill 2Pe 3:18 = to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

If you don’t believe me, then believe what one of the wisest men in the world had to say about this principle of doctrine.

His name, of course, is Solomon, his mother was Bathsheba and his father was, of course, King David, who killed Bathsheba’s husband Uriah and then forced Bathsheba to marry him.

Prepare yourself for learning the Word of God!

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge (confess) your known unconfessed sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father).

1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (known sins) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [unknown or forgotten sins]." NKJV (New King James Version) [italics added]; we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.

John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV [italics added]

Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

STUDY TITLE:

The Divine plan of blessing the Righteousness of God in man

The Divine plan of blessing the Righteousness of God in man. 1Ti 6:6-12, But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang. But flee from these things, you man of God; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Notice he said in 1Ti 6:11, “pursue righteousness” – notice that righteousness is something that we must pursue after. When righteousness refers to God or the essence of God, we call it God’s holiness or His justice. But, when God’s righteousness is imputed to us and we are the recipients of God’s righteousness, we call it justification. And this all means qualification for blessing or potential for blessing.

Therefore, let us begin in Rom 5:12 with one of the greatest, if not the greatest and clearest passage in the word of God when it comes to the subject or doctrine of imputation, where we read, Rom 5:12, Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned. And I must comment on the verses to make it as understandable as I can. And for many of you, you are just going to have to believe it for now, until I prove what I am about to say.

I am giving to you some amazing principles concerning what the first Adam in the Garden lost and what the last Adam in His own garden gained back and didn’t just restore what mankind had lost but gave us more than we had in the original creation. Now, one of the many blessings that we have because of the cross is that our Lord not only restored all that Adam lost in the Garden of Eden but how He modified and improved it even more.

We can understand and experience a measure of these principles in the spiritual realm now, however, we will abide in them and experience them in totality in the eternal state. And this a part of our subject concerning the righteousness of God. Remember, Adam and the woman received a perfect righteousness, perfect in the sense that it came from God, but you and I receive a divine righteousness called the divine nature that will not be able to sin in the eternal state, a nature that is divine that cannot sin.

1Jo 3:9, No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Of course, someone will say, “Well isn’t that a violation of man’s free will?” And I say “No, it is not, because we asked God to give us a nature that cannot sin so that we will never be able to do what Satan and one-third of the fallen angels did which was to rebel against God!”

You choose!

I choose 1Pe 1:23, for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word of God.

2Pe 1:4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature,

Others can so NO and choose what John 8:44 calls the creature’s nature, “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth,” That’s a nature without God. The point is that it is vital that you understand the nature of God and the divine righteousness he gave you at the moment of your salvation. You and I have been given a nature greater than the one the first Adam had in the original creation, in the Garden!

The absolute righteousness that the first Adam lost, is now duplicated and imputed in the spiritual realm to the believer in the Church-age who receives a double righteousness under the principle of a double portion, and he will remain in that state of perfection forever and ever in the eternal state, Rev 22:11. Both in time and eternity, we are better off than the first Adam.

Secondly, the perfect environment in the Garden of Eden that the first Adam lost, is now duplicated in the spiritual realm in the PPOG [predesigned plan of God] for the Church-age but will be consummated in the eternal state with perfect environment for all of eternity, Rev 21:1-4. Both in time and eternity, we are better off than the first Adam. However, there was one more thing that the first Adam lost that is the purpose of marriage which was given to man not as a result of the fall but before the fall!

Because of the angelic conflict, the last Adam, TLJC [the Lord Jesus Christ], gives some believers the opportunity to recover and to glorify Him in the angelic conflict and to put another nail as it were in the coffin of Satan in the historical phase of the angelic conflict through Christian marriage. And that is part of the mystery of Eph 5:32, This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.

The original design of marriage that the first Adam lost, can now be experienced in the spiritual realm for two believers in the Church-age and becomes analogous to the eternal marriage between TLJC [the Lord Jesus Christ] and His bride for all of eternity, Rev 21:9.

So in Rom 5:12-13, Therefore, just as through one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death [spiritual death] through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned [all sinned when Adam sinned]. For until the Law [Mosaic Law, the 10 commandments, etc.] sin was in the world; but sin [or the sin nature and the sins it produced] is not imputed when there is no law.

This means that God did not and could not condemn us, that is mankind, for our sins because He had not yet given mankind a set of rules or do’s and don’ts to follow before He gave the Law to Moses.

Rom 5:14, Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.

We did not sin like the first Adam, we were born sinners, he was not, he was created with perfect righteousness and he lost it — and only in that sense was he a type of Him who was to come, TLJC [the Lord Jesus Christ], who kept Himself without sin! What does that mean that man had not sinned in the likeness of Adam? It means that Adam sinned even though he had a sinless nature, even though God gave him no commandments, but mankind sinned because he was born in sin.

Rom 5:15 goes on to say, But the free gift [that is salvation] is not like the transgression [that is the transgression of Adam]. For if by the transgression of the one [Adam] the many died [hoi polloi = altogether, the entire, or simply all referring to every member of the human race] much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many – the human race with emphasis on the unlimited atonement.

Rom 5:16 And the gift [salvation] is not like that which came through the one who sinned [our Lord’s gift is different then what Adam gave us]; for on the one hand the judgment [of Adam’s original sin] arose from one transgression [Adam partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil] resulting in condemnation [that is condemnation of the entire human race], but on the other hand the free gift [salvation] arose from many transgressions [the humanity of Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world] resulting in justification. For if by the transgression of the one [Adam] death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness [+R = i.e., the righteousness of God] will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. So then as through one transgression [Adam] there resulted condemnation to all men [the entire human race], even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. For as through the one man’s disobedience [Adam] the many [the entire human race] were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One [TLJC = the Lord Jesus Christ] the many [those who believe in TLJC] will be made righteous. And the Law came in that the transgression might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

Why did God bring in the Law?

Gal 3:24, Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, that we may be justified by faith.

So what did the apostle Paul mean when he said in Rom 5:20, And the Law came in that the transgression might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

Well, since we are in the book of Romans, let me show you a passage that reveals what Paul meant.

Rom 7:7-14, What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” But sin [or the sin nature], taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin [the sin nature] is dead. And I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin [the sin nature] became alive, and I died; and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me; for sin [the sin nature], taking opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me. So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Therefore, did that which is good become a cause of death for me? May it never be! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by effecting my death through that which is good, that through the commandment sin [or the sin nature] might become utterly sinful. For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.

Rom 5:20-21, And the Law came in that the transgression might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, that, as sin or the sin nature reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Please notice that grace reigns in our life when we understand the righteousness of God or +H. +H can refer to the righteousness given to us at salvation or salvation righteousness, experiential righteousness and positional righteousness. Now, if there was ever a subject where all these principles apply, it is the doctrine of imputation.

What is an imputation? The English noun is derived from the Latin verb imputari, meaning to reckon, to attribute, to ascribe, to charge to one’s account. In the theological concepts of the word of God, imputation is used as an act of God whereby either condemnation or blessing is ascribed, attributed, reckoned, given, or imposed on the human race.

Therefore, an imputation is the function of the justice of God directed toward mankind and related to the plan of God for mankind. Imputation functions as an act of condemnation or blessing from the Integrity of God to mankind. This means that in the plan of God there are times that God imputes us things that condemn us and other times things that bless us. For example, at physical birth God imputes to us the blessing of life but at the same he imputes to us the old sin nature passed down from Adam to our physical body as condemnation.

So that we are born physically alive (blessing from the justice of God), but at the same time spiritually dead (condemnation from the justice of God.) Both of these actions by God are considered to be imputations. Therefore, imputation may be defined as the action of the justice of God whereby either condemnation or blessing is assigned, ascribed, attributed, superimposed or super induced to another being.

And once you learn this and understand it, you will see that the plan of God advances with each imputation. In fact, we are going to note a principle that every imputation is an advance on a previous imputation, though most of you are not ready for this as of yet…but you will if you want to. And that is because you have the greatest teacher in the universe, God the Holy Spirit; 1Jo 2:27; John 14:26; 1Co 2:10-16.

1Jo 2:27, And as for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie,

John 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

1Co 2:10-14, For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.

1Co 2:12-14, Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

Now, there are three factors in imputation.

a. The source, which is God Himself.

b. The nature of the imputation–what is being imputed.

c. The recipient of imputation–a human being in a specific status quo.

There are two categories of imputation.

1. Real imputations, where the justice of God imputes under the principle of the importance of understanding that there is a similarity or a likeness between what is being imputed and where it is being imputed to. What is imputed has an affinity or a home for that to which it is imputed. For example, Real imputations include: human life to the soul, Adam’s original sin to the old sin nature, eternal life to the human spirit, blessings in time to perfect righteousness, and blessings in eternity to the resurrection body.

All of these imputations from God, human life; Adam’s original sin; eternal life; blessings in time; blessings in eternity-all have a home or a place to go for the imputation which is:

a. Human life to the soul.

b. Adam’s original sin to the old sin nature.

c. Eternal life to the human spirit.

d. Blessings in time to perfect righteousness,

e. Blessings in eternity to the resurrection body.

In a real imputation, what is imputed is in harmony, agreement, or affinity with the target of the imputation.

The second category of imputations are known as Judicial imputations, where the justice of God imputes what does NOT legally belong to that which it is being imputed to. Therefore, there is no affinity, no home or target between what is imputed and the recipient. Therefore, only one factor exists–what is being imputed. Thus, great emphasis is placed on the Source of the judicial imputations which come from the justice of God.

Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: When our Lord died, He died two deaths, first, a spiritual death and then a physical death.

One of our Lord’s most powerful messages just before His deaths (deaths is in the plural of the verb nekros which can refer to spiritual death or natural death).

We are talking about two forms of death — (His natural death and His spiritual death) which are about to take place.

Never forget the importance of the original language because that is one of the most important principles that we need to be sure of the translation that we are about to come to.

“The day you eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil = then in that day you will muwth muwth or literally says mowt [dying spiritually] then it says that you will taamuwt [die physically].

Dying spiritually, you shall die physically.

You should make sure that you are being taught correctly which is by the addition of the phrase muwth muwth = which should be translated dying spiritually you will die physically.

1. Isagogics is the historical setting of the passage.

2. Categories is the systematic theology developed from combining Scripture with Scripture.

3. Exegesis is the grammatical and syntactical analysis of the passage from the original languages.

One of our main problems, we are being told by Moses that if we eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that the day we eat from it we shall die.

A few problems emerge such as did Adam and the woman ishshah both die the day that ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

They (Adam and Ishshah) did not die, that is they did not die physically because right after that they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they had what the Bible calls sexual relations.

Moses is said to be the author of the book of Genesis.

When our Lord died, He actually died two deaths, first, a spiritual death and this was followed by a physical death.

“Born Once, Die Twice, Born Twice, Die Once.”

If you are only “Born once” that means you die twice. Once at physical death and then secondly, at what is called Theologically the Second Death; Rev 2:11; 20:6; 20:14; 21:8.

The second death is only for those winner believers who have overcome all the personal attacks, the fears, the lies, the judging, the criticism personally.

If you asked the average believer today if our Lord died for them, the majority of believers would say that they really do not believe that our Lord died for them and their loved ones.

Something will happen to cause us to be on the alert especially among your friends, family, husband, wife, your cat, your dog, even the pastor -teacher, etc.

My personal answer is that the Lord will have the right questions that we need to have answered.

Answers = “We are in complete harmony to the Lord that we wild totally agree with the Lord and His judicial bench.”

Acts 16:31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household.”

If we were out to dinner and a check came and someone at the table says “I will pay all of the check for the table,” then why would someone else say “I will pay the Check” if someone already has.

The problem which is willful ignorance of doctrine which most believers are in bondage to because they do not think like the apostle Paul taught concerning this matter; as in Rom 12:3.

Rom 12:3 For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

The fact that the apostle Paul warns us in Rom 12:3 where he says “think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.”

One of the major problems that we all have to deal with is the problem of being ignorant and this is one of the main reasons that believers do become arrogant.

Notice how the apostle Paul describes the problem and then he also gives us the reasons that we need to be in touch with God.

1. In Eph 4:18, believers allow negative thoughts to influence their decision making because they are filled with the thoughts of darkness that they learned from the Cosmic System.

The last description for the loser believer because they allow certain thought to penetrate their soul and spirit and reject the doctrinal solutions that our Lord gave to mankind.

The apostle Paul was very careful when he was forced to communicate the divine solutions for the problems that we need to solve and that can only happen when believers have PVTD [positive volition towards doctrine].

These are believers that the apostle Paul is challenging so that they will make decisions based upon doctrine and not based upon the so-called religious orders of his day.

There are a lot of believers who are excluded from the life of God = our local assembly.

They have the same weakness from arrogance that Satan had in Isa 14:12-14, and that is the sin of independence and the rejection of that real truth.

It’s the real truth because God the Holy Spirit inspired it and He is God which means He cannot lie or even look upon sin; Hab 1:13.

Eph 4:18 (1) being darkened in their understanding,
(2) excluded from the life of God.

1. They come right out and say “No” to God, “I will not gather together with other believers and enjoy the life of God, I do what I want to do.

That does not change the fact that what they choose to do, there will be consequences for their decisions.

His name is Solomon, his mother Bathsheba, and his father was King David, who killed Bathsheba’s husband Uriah and then forced Bathsheba to marry him.

Ecc 8:11 Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil.

They are getting away with something or they believe that they got away with something only to find out that their God was being patient toward them.

Psa 18:35 “Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation, And Thy right hand upholds me; And Thy gentleness makes me great.

When a believer understands grace and mercy that is a divine blessing called lovingkindness or long-suffering’s and that is one of the main doctrinal principles our Lord also taught.

We have what King David called lovingkindness or gentleness and patience or what the apostle Paul called the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience; Rom 2:1-4.

Eph 4:18 we have some believers who are;

(1) being darkened in their understanding,

(2) They are excluded from the life of God.

1. They come right out and say “No” to God, “I will not gather together with other believers and enjoy the life of God, I will do what I want to do.

His name is Solomon, his mother was Bathsheba and his father was, of course, King David, who killed Bathsheba’s husband Uriah and then forced Bathsheba to marry him.

What was he waiting for?

He was waiting for them to rebound and to recover.

Because some believers are so arrogant that they truly think that they are like a rock, and that they are also like an Island.

Eph 4:18 — these individuals choose to do what their teacher (Satan) did.

The individual believer or the unbeliever can actually claim that they are students either of God or Satan by the way they live.

If they practice sin, then they are students of the one that they are practicing to live by which means that sin comes from the sin nature which every believer still has after the day of their salvation.

When a believer walks in darkness and not the light, then his walk now becomes his lifestyle.

There have been many times that I have taught that sometimes you can’t tell the difference between believers and unbelievers because they look and act alike.

We are back to a conclusion: Love!

2. They are also excluded from the life of God, which deals with fellowship and serving.

3. Because of the ignorance that is in them but they can also fill their soul with doctrine so that they can think with Christ.

4. I am giving this to you right now to prepare you for the hardness of their heart;

Sermon: Don't be surprised if you are hurt,
lied to or cheated by a Cosmic Carnal Christian.

John 15 = our Lord challenges His disciples to draw near to Him as He gets ready to complete the work that the Father desired for the Son to complete or to fulfill.

What does it take for anyone to follow the finished work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that He completed during His time on the earth as a member of the human race and during His time on the earth after He died physically.

There were so many witnesses that saw Him and so much proof that He had been raised from the dead, even from sources that were not considered to be religious but right.

There is a book written by a gentleman from the standpoint of being non-religious or in some cases being an atheist — “Evidence that Demands a Verdict” – Josh McDowell.

When you have two individuals who know their stuff and who need to be answered concerning the work that our Lord put into action, then you have principles of truth based upon points of doctrine.

After this man was converted, we had many conversations concerning Resurrection, ascension and session, that really magnified the beliefs that both of us had.

Think about our Lord coming out from the womb.

Try and imagine what it must have been like for our Lord to come out not only from the womb….but live and go all the way to the tomb.

He was born into a world whereby He became not only alive but He also became a member of the human race and He lost His life for doing so.

We know that our Lord had to grow in stages; Luk 2:40, and Luk 2:40; Luk 2:52.

Divine blessings + Divine Promises = He would have to experience some of the problems of being human and then trying to recover those things you may have lost.

We also have one the most powerful set of doctrines that we could ever have as we learn as He did, about resurrection, ascension, and then the session.

What does it take for anyone to follow the finished work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

The works that God the Father demanded from Him were not only good deeds or good morals but they were also constant and demanding for our Lord to fulfill the entire Mosaic Law.

One of the main reasons that our Lord came to fulfill was to obey the works of God the Father which were done — according to the word of God.

Cornerstone = a foundation for individuals who wanted to learn more about the reason and the purpose that many other Jews and Gentiles became intimately involved with one another.

He also realized the importance of the Church as a body of Christ whose one major goal and purpose was to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in the midst of the Angelic Conflict.

Our Lord could not wait, in a good sense, to be able to scream out John 19:30 Tetélestai = meaning that it was finished in the past with the result that it goes on being finished forever.

1. The natural principles for the individual to learn and to obey.

2. The spiritual principles for the individual to learn and to obey.

This can be answered with some of the information that our Lord gave to His disciples and even His family which is called the message of the Vine and the branches.

It was going to be one of His last messages to His disciples and usually the words that a person speaks on their dying bed are normally words that are important and vital for family and friends to remember.

(1) One of those principles refer to the doctrine that is overlooked where we learn that: God saves the best for last.

(2) God also taught if something is from Him, He will give it back to you so that you may have a change in your life that God has given to you and that is the life of God in the souls of man.

(3) The principle that is normally true for everyone of us because God usually saves the best for the last because that is His will for those who truly love Him.

1Co 2:9 “But just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And {which} have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Let us get ready for His blessings, His love, His wisdom, His plans for the glorification of our Lord as He is awaiting for all of us to follow Him so that He could bless them for doing so.

Our Lord just broke bread with the disciples and He knew that one of his own students, a disciple of our Lord named Judas Iscariot.

In John 13, the night before His death, Judas has just been told privately to go and do what he was planning to do which is to turn on and betray our Lord to the scribes and the Pharisees.

1. They were uses of people.

2. Luster’s after money.

3. Turned on our Lord, who was someone who had tried to help them in every way possible.

They turned on our Lord and followed the lies of the cosmic system and while they were doing that, they let the Carnal Corinthian Christians walk all over them.

You really have never been hurt until you have been hurt, or wounded, or lied to, or stolen from BY…..another CCC – Cosmic Carnal Christian.

They may appear to be loving and sweet and nice but inside they are ravenous wolves.

They seem to be loving, when in reality the only love they have is truly love for themselves.

2Ti 3:1-2b But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant,

John 15:1 = our Lord and His disciples were learning together the doctrine of the Vine and the Branches as they were all walking together to the Garden of Gethsemane.

The vinedresser metaphor refers to God the Father as the author the PPOG [predesigned plan of God].

Fruit through the branch is a metaphor for the Church-age believer.

No fruit or production can be any better than the vine which produces it.

Because of positional sanctification plus the grace provision of the three spiritual skills, it is possible for the believer to manufacture productive righteousness.

Positional Sanctification = reveals the positional truth of the believers in the Church-age.

The grace provision of the three spiritual skills – reveals the Word, the power, and the plan.

Productive righteousness — reveals the good works that believers can produce through the righteousness of God and the filling of the Spirit.

Although these are three vital doctrines, we also need to have the humility to perceive, metabolize and apply those doctrines.

The vine metaphor emphasizes the fact that all precedence and all productive righteousness in the Church-age comes from the vine – our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 15:2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.”

John 15:2 “Every branch [believer] in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away [that is He disciplines]; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes [suffering for blessing], that it may bear more fruit.”

In John 15:2 “Every branch [believer] in Me” = a reference to the believer in union with Christ.

The doctrine of the Baptism of the Spirit just as we all have been taught that we are also the branches in union with the vine, Jesus Christ.

1. Dead branches representing dead works, or production skills minus spiritual skills;

2. Live branches representing productive righteousness, or spiritual skills as the basis for production skills.

The branch in Christ that does not bear fruit refers to the believer who does not reveal productive righteousness.

Dead works is not fruit-bearing and is punishable.

The point of doctrine is that God the Father removes and takes away all dead wood, dead branches, branches which produce dead works.

God the Father removes the dead works through suffering:

The law of volitional responsibility which produces a tremendous amount of self-induced misery;

Divine discipline.

Matt 7:17-19 “Every healthy tree produces good fruit. And every diseased tree produces worthless [degenerate, or evil] fruit.

A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

Pruning is necessary to redistribute where the energy for production should go.

The branch that does bear fruit has to be pruned occasionally so that the spiritual skills will increase and maximize.

Now, in John 15, verses 3-4 are the cleansing of the branches for production.

First, in verse three is salvation cleansing of the branches.

“You are already clean [saved], He puts the verb este in a present-active-indicative form which should be translated “You are clean in a dogmatic way, Ain’t no doubt about it.’

Verse four refers to post-salvation cleansing of the branches, which is the rebound technique.

John 15:4 “Abide in Me [fellowship], and I in you [knowing and learning doctrine]. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit from itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”

The fact that “abide” is a command means that it is an experience after salvation and not a reference to positional sanctification or believers keeping themselves cleansed through rebound.

We are never commanded to be in union with Christ because we always are in union with Christ, especially the day we realized and became that.

John 15:4 “Abide in Me [fellowship], and I in you [command for doctrine]. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit from itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”

This is a command to remain in fellowship with God through the use of 1Jo 1:9, and the principle of productive righteousness which will result.

The believer can only produce perfect righteousness when filled with God the Holy Spirit.

In John 15:2 when our Lord says “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit,” He takes away.

In John 15:4, when our Lord taught the principle of abiding, He said “Abide in Me, and I in you” which is a reference to positional sanctification.

The branch commanded to abide in Christ is the believer commanded to experiential sanctification through the filling of the Holy Spirit.

Indwelling of Christ — John 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I (will abide) in you. — this is the command for the believer to learn and metabolize Bible doctrine.

The vine, TLJC [the Lord Jesus Christ], has provided for us the precedent, the pattern, and the information necessary to produce divine righteousness.

We cannot produce fruit apart from the function of spiritual skills: the filling of the Spirit; perception, metabolization, and application of doctrine; and execution of the PPOG.

Our Lord had spiritual skills for thirty years before He had three years of production in His ministry.

Abiding in Christ is the filling of the Spirit.

Christ in us is cognition of Bible doctrine.

These spiritual skills are required before we can produce “much fruit.”

The phrase “do nothing” is dead works, the function of production skills without spiritual skills.

The production of perfect righteousness is a grace provision from God which meets God’s perfect standards.

God provides the means for fruit-bearing through the filling of the Holy Spirit, cognition of Bible doctrine, and through the attainment of spiritual adulthood.

Production skills minus spiritual skills result in dead works.

The believer who does not abide in Christ is out of fellowship, and therefore, minus the first spiritual skill, the filling of the Spirit.

All dead works are judged and burned immediately after the Rapture of the Church, Rom 14:10; 2Co 5:10.

The drying up of the branch means that the believer minus spiritual skills dries up with the production of dead works.

a. The believer in fellowship.

b. The believer in doctrine.

c. The believer in prayer.

Abiding or remaining in Christ is reference to the Church Age believer in fellowship with God.

It is called “abiding” because the filling of the Holy Spirit only occurs in the PPOG. [pre-designed plan of God]

When we reside in the [pre-designed plan of God], we reside in the place of the filling of the Holy Spirit.

The believer has fellowship with God on the basis of the fact that the Holy Spirit controls the soul of the believer.

The believer in fellowship has good deeds and Christian service which are produced from the execution of the PPOG.

The filling of the Holy Spirit produces productive righteousness.

The filling of the Holy Spirit is the first spiritual skill.

The believer cannot have fellowship with God apart from the filling of the Holy Spirit.

And finally the phrase “My words abide in you” is a reference to the consistent words of Christ which are the thinking of Christ, the Bible.

The third spiritual skill is the execution of the PPOG by advancing through the three stages of spiritual adulthood.

STUDY TITLE:

The Righteousness of God and the Grace Pipe Line.

The reason why the Justice of God blesses the righteousness of God in us. Rom 9:30-33, What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith; but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone, just as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.” This brings us to the final section in Rom 9:30-33, where we begin by noting the salvation of the Gentiles. One of the most confusing things to the Jews in Paul’s day was the phenomenal evangelism and salvation among the Gentiles, (those who were not Jews or Jewish). The Jews could not understand how the group that pursued after the righteousness of God [the Jews] could not attain it, while those who did not pursue after the righteousness of God attained it. This drove them crazy and it produced a lot of jealousy, envy and division even in the early church.

In the book of Romans Paul has called the Gentiles by a lot of different titles, one of them is the phrase “vessels of mercy.” And so, as we begin this morning, there are a few principles concerning our subject which needs to be noted. First of all, we need to look upon two doctrinal principles, one concerning the righteousness of God, the other concerning the doctrine of imputation. However, before we begin these doctrinal principles, there is a subject we must study which is vitally important when it comes to your relationship with God, especially concerning what we are about to note.

When we get into these two doctrinal subjects, righteousness and imputation, it is vital that you recognize your responsibility in dealing with these doctrines….because once you do you will find out that they are not only simple, but they are also advanced. Don’t miss this principle.

Heb 5:12-14, For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food – milk and the basics rather than advance doctrines. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word or the doctrine of or pertaining to righteousness, for he or SHE is a babe – still in spiritual immaturity. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice or exercise have their senses trained to discern between divine good and evil – Satan’s plan for the human race is human good which is called evil here.

Remember Adam and the woman were not told not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and SIN, but good and evil (Gen 2:17), evil being anything that the creature produces without the Creator’s help. Now, remember in the original there is no chapter break.

Heb 6:1-3, Therefore leaving the elementary teaching or the basic doctrines about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, – these are the basic doctrines of instruction about washings, and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And this we shall do, if God permits. – that is if you are ready once again to do so.

Apparently, this had happened to them before according to Heb 5:12 which says that they have need again for someone to teach them the elementary principles of the oracles of God,

The point is, as a pastor-teacher, there are certain dilemma’s that you have to face that are important for the believer to understand, especially the adult spiritual believer. Now, one of the pitfalls or the disadvantages or drawbacks of the ministry is having to deal with believer’s who are at different stages of spiritual growth. For example, many times new believers have no idea what I’m talking about while some other believers might become bored with repetition. Then there are the sophomore believers who think they know a lot of doctrine but in reality know very little.

In fact, the apostle Paul warned us about them in when he said do not put new believers in positions of authority because in 1Ti3:6 as a new convert, they might become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil (arrogance). This is why he also said in 1Ti 5:22, Do not lay hands upon anyone too hastily and thus share responsibility for the sins of others that is the sins that those who are promoted too soon and become a stumbling block to those who listen to them and their carnal ignorant opinions.

So, we actually have what I believe are at least five categories of believers:

1. New legitimately immature believers who have PVTD [positive volition towards doctrine].

2. Sophomore believers (wise fools) NVTD [negative volition towards doctrine].

3. Growing believers in spiritual adulthood – PVTD [positive volition towards doctrine].

4. Mature believers – PVTD [positive volition towards doctrine].

5. Apostate Believers. – NVTD [negative volition towards doctrine].

Now, with the exception of the last one, most doctrinal congregations are made up of the other four different type of believers. And here is the dilemma at times because-as a pastor you must communicate the same message to all four, although all four, though they hear the same message, respond differently to that message. There are new believers who desire to know what I’m talking about and want to learn the basics, 1Pe 2:2, like newborn babes, they desire or long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,

Then there are the sophomores who think they are already know and even disagree with it, the novices of 1Ti 3:6, they are novices who being lifted up with pride fall into the condemnation of the devil. Then there are believers who want the advance doctrines who are young and zealous and have the humility to learn; Eph 3:14-21. There are the mature believers, who no matter what the subject is, they basically live in 1Pe 3:15 (ready to answer) and 2Pe 3:18 (grow in grace and knowledge), and they are always ready for more. Then there are other believers who could care less. The point is that we all need to have the humility to learn from others.

In the book of Romans Paul has called the Gentiles by a lot of different titles. One of them is the phrase “vessels of mercy.” The first phrase in Rom 9:30, “What shall we say then?” This means that after everything that the apostle Paul has said up to now in Rom 9 forces us to some conclusions. The phrase “What shall we say then?” can be translated “What conclusions are we forced to?” The conclusion is forced by the content of Romans 9:24-26 in which Gentiles are included in the remnant.

Rom 9:24-26, even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles. As He says also in Hosea, “I will call those who were not My people, ‘My people,’ And her who was not beloved, ‘beloved.’ And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them, you are not My people, There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

Notice that there are three titles given to us gentiles in this passage:

1. Rom 9:25 – The Lord calls us – ‘My people,’

2. Rom 9:25 – He calls us ‘beloved.’

3. Rom 9:26 – He calls us “sons of the living God.”

What a privilege we all have being called God’s people, His beloved ones, and “sons of the living God.” And so, in Rom 9: 30-33, the apostle tells us that the salvation of the Gentiles means that Gentiles are classified in the category of “vessels of mercy.” We are now called “vessels of mercy” because God can bless the regenerate or born-again Gentiles because we have received the imputation of divine righteousness (+R) at salvation. While on the other hand, God can only condemn the unsaved Jews because they have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ and therefore they have rejected His righteousness, and accepted or trusted in their own righteousness by trying to keep the Law.

In fact, notice what the apostle Paul says in Rom 10:1-4, Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. For not knowing about God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Now, a few more things need to be noted as we enter into this study of the righteousness of God. First of all, if you desire to be a student of God, you need to get use to being technical. Let me show you a few words used in the Bible that describe believers who are serious about their relationship with God. The first one most of you are familiar with in John 8:31-32.

You know and you have heard many times, John 8:31-32; where we read that Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples [mathetes] of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The noun disciples is the Greek noun or adjective mathetes which is where we get the English word mathematician from which means one who is highly educated in the subject that is in view. Therefore, to be a mathematician of the word of God is to be a scholar, which by the way I have seen and heard individuals who claim to be biblical scholars who could not compete with the biblical scholars I see every week in this local assembly. Fulfilling the principle of Gal 3:28, There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Some of you who are here today have no idea of how advanced you are when it comes to biblical scholarship.

Another word for students of God is when they are called “sons of God,” the Greek word is teknon as in 1Jo 3:10 which means technical students of the word of God. No matter how you slice it, being dedicated and devoted to the word of God is the only way to be a winner believer. The point is, get used to being technical and disciplined if you desire to worship and respect God.

Now, to begin this principle of doctrine I want you to know that +R = salvation righteousness; experiential righteousness; positional righteousness; and ultimate righteousness. The passage will determine what I believe is in view. So, the apostle Paul says in Rom 9:30, What shall we say then [or what conclusions are we forced to?] That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith;

And so, the main subject of this passage is the word righteousness, a very misunderstood subject because many individuals think about righteousness as being moral. The word for righteousness is the Greek noun dikaiosune which means that which pertains to the integrity of God, His righteousness or justice. However, when it used for man receiving righteousness from God it refers to imputed righteousness. By imputed righteousness I mean that which the character and the integrity God gives to man as a gift. The key to understanding the righteousness of God which is given to man is the word imputed. If you can understand imputed righteousness, you will experience more and more freedom in the Christian life.

And that’s because once man has God’s perfect righteousness (+R), he now has something that becomes the potential to be the recipient for many blessings designed by God to give the individual a fantastic life. All blessing from God comes from His justice and God has provided a way to not only save us but to give us all the blessings we need to have a wonderful and fantastic and meaningful life.

And when you understand that God blesses you NOT from His love but from his justice and righteousness, then you’ll understand how to receive and take advantage of the gift of divine righteousness which was given to you as gift at the moment of your salvation.

So, make sure you understand that throughout this study, when we refer to God’s imputed righteousness many times as +R that +R = perfect divine righteousness. And trust me, this is a very freeing doctrine once you study it, understand it, believe it and apply it! It all begins with the principle of understanding imputation. For at the moment of salvation, the justice of God sets up a direct channel or a pipeline from His justice to His righteousness in us for the purpose of bestowing upon us fantastic magnificent divine blessings. It all begins with understanding the Grace Pipeline (GP)

On one end of the pipeline is the justice of God, the origin of all blessing, not His love but His justice. If God blessed us simply because He loved us, the whole world would be blessed, believers and unbelievers, and we would all be spoiled. However, even though He loves the world and He is not willing for any to perish, people still do, why? Because His justice needs to be satisfied. And it is only +R – perfect righteousness or those who are perfectly righteous that can satisfy the justice of God.

You must realize that before God can deal with us as our Father, He must be satisfied with us as a Judge. As a father, He can love and forgive and treat us in grace and mercy, but as a judge, His just and righteous demands must be satisfied.

God blesses us from His justice. When His justice says, they can NOW handle some of your blessings, they will not be distracted by them, and they will continue to live the spiritual life, then, and only then, God blesses us. Meaning we must satisfy the justice of God before we can be blessed by the love of God. And justice is only satisfied with us when it sees us as being perfectly holy and perfectly righteous. So, on one end of the pipeline is the justice of God, the origin of all blessing. On the other end of the pipeline is God’s perfect righteousness and this becomes the recipient for all of these blessings.

When righteousness refers to God or the essence of God, we call it God’s holiness or His justice. But, when God’s righteousness is imputed to us and we are the recipients of God’s righteousness, we call it justification. And this all means qualification for blessing or potential for blessing. This is why Paul said 1Ti 6:6-12, But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses

To understand all this and what true righteousness is according to the word of God….and what it is that we are to pursue, We need to note the origin of perfect righteousness and how we received it. Therefore, let us begin in Rom 5:12 with one of the greatest, if not the greatest and clearest passage in the word of God when it comes to the subject or doctrine of God’s perfect righteousness and the doctrine of imputation.

Rom 5:12-13, Therefore, just as through one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death [spiritual death] through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned [all sinned when Adam sinned] for until the Law [that is until the Mosaic Law, the 10 commandments etc.] sin [the sin nature] was in the world; but sin [or the sin nature and the sins it produced] is not imputed when there is no law. This means that God did not and could not condemn us, that is mankind, for our sins because He had not yet given us a set of rules or do’s and don’ts to follow before He gave the Law to Moses.

So in Rom 5:13, God did not and could not hold us accountable or impute or accuse us for our sins because He had not given man commandments to follow at that time. However, as this passage says but sin [or the sin nature and the sins it produced] was still in the world. Which is why Rom 5:14 says, Nevertheless death [that is spiritual death and separation from God still] reigned from Adam until Moses, [Or from the creation of man Adam until Moses, when the Law or the commandments of God was given]. What does that mean that man sinned in the likeness of Adam? It means that just like Adam sinned even though God gave him no commandments so did mankind sin in the same way.

Rom 5:15-16 goes on to say, But the free gift [that is salvation] is not like the transgression [that is the transgression of Adam]. For if by the transgression of the one [Adam] the many died [hoi polloi = altogether, the entire, or simply all referring to every member of the human race]. Then Rom 5:15 goes on to say much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many – the human race with emphasis on the unlimited atonement. And the gift [salvation] is not like that which came through the one who sinned [our Lord’s gift is different then what Adam gave us]; For on the one hand the judgment [of Adam’s original sin] arose from one transgression [Adam partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil] resulting in condemnation [that is condemnation of the entire human race], but on the other hand the free gift [salvation] arose from many transgressions [Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world] resulting in justification [anyone who believes in TLJC receives +R and is justified before God].

Rom 5:1-20, For if by the transgression of the one [Adam, spiritual] death reigned through the one [Adam], much more [a fortiori – even greater than that] those who receive the abundance of grace [salvation, they are now saved] and of the gift of righteousness [+R] will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. So then as through one transgression [Adam] there resulted condemnation to all men [the entire human race], even so through one act of righteousness [TLJC = the Lord Jesus Christ dying for us on the cross] there resulted justification of life to all men.

So what did the apostle Paul means when he said in Rom 5:20, And the Law came in that the transgression might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. Well, since we are in the book of Romans, let me show you a passage that reveals what Paul meant. In

Rom 7:7-14, What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead. And I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive, and I died; and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me; for sin [or the sin nature], taking opportunity through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.

So back in Rom 5:20-21, And the Law came in that the transgression might increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, that, as sin or the sin nature reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Grace reigns in our life when we understand the righteousness of God or +H. +H can refer to the righteousness given to us at salvation or salvation righteousness, experiential righteousness and positional righteousness.
