Scripture References, Word & Phrase descriptions: the “Logos Reftagger” scripture links are hover pop-up active, meaning the scripture reference will just pop-up if you hover your cursor over it (don’t click on the link, just hover your cursor over it), when finished reading, hover your cursor off the scripture reference link. If the Reftagger pop-up doesn’t show all the verses, left click on the “More” button in the Reftagger pop-up window and it will take you to the online bible. If RefTagger pop-ups don’t work on your computer, that’s OK, try right clicking the link then open in new tab or window; or if that doesn’t work, you can always use your Bible to look up the verses. Prepare yourself for learning the Word of God!

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge (confess) your known unconfessed sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father).

1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (known sins) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [unknown or forgotten sins]." NKJV (New King James Version) [italics added]; we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.

John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV [italics added]

Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that https://twitter.com/Ticket2Heaven/status/1221699816784154625/analytics whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

STUDY TITLE:

DOCTRINE OF PRAYER, Part 1
Robert R. McLaughlin Bible Ministries

An important point to note first is that we are not to use prayer to try and get God to do what we want done. Many believers try and use prayer to get their own way, not God’s way. Prayer must be compatible with God’s will and God’s way. Sometimes that may be our will and our way, but other times it may not.

1Jo 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”

Prayer is not designed to get us out of trouble, but rather to express our helplessness, our humility, our total dependence on God, and our recognition of His grace and His mercy toward us. Prayer is not what we want for ourselves, but what God wants for us. In fact, prayer is an expression and an extension of Bible doctrine resident in the soul.

We fail in prayer because we fail to understand and utilize Bible doctrine correctly.

John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.”

Prayer was never designed to fulfill our lusts and desires; prayer is designed to fulfill the will, plan, and purpose of God for our lives.

That’s why James 4:3 says “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your lusts.”

So prayer is not a Christmas list. Too many prayers are an expression of what you want, not what God wants. This is why we need to pray according to the will of God. To express the will of God in your prayers, you have to know what the will of God is and therefore how to ask for the will of God rather than your own will in any given matter.

Definition and Description.

Prayer is that function of the Royal Priesthood whereby the Church-age believer has access and privilege to present two categories of requests to God the Father.

1. Petitions–prayers for yourself.

2. Intercessory prayers–prayers for others.

Your prayers for others become a ministry unto themselves. However, many times your prayers for yourself indicate either lack of understanding of the problem-solving devices or the failure to properly utilize them. As a part of your equal privilege in election, you are a royal priest. And it is the unique function of the royal priesthood and equal privilege and opportunity for every believer to have an effective ministry. The most effective service is invisible service such as prayer. In past dispensations, there were specialized priesthoods in which certain people functioned as priests. A priest is a person representing the human race (believers) to God.

However, every believer is a priest and therefore any system of specialized priesthood in the Church-age is a false system. In reality, all believers in the Church-age are Catholic priests. The word “Catholic” simply means “universal or concerning all mankind.”

You have the right to represent yourself before God the Father in the name of the Son and through the power of the Spirit. God the Father receives our prayers through the person of Jesus Christ in the filling of the Holy Spirit. So prayer is communication with God for the expression of personal needs in petition and the function of intercession for others.

Prayer is also a weapon and is meant to be used offensively, not defensively, as in the prayer, “Oh God, help!” Prayer is a weapon which supports pastors and missionaries.

Prayer is thought; therefore, it requires vocabulary, thinking, doctrine, and concentration. That’s why praying in tongues is so ridiculous.

A misconception about prayer is how long you should pray. Prayers should be brief; this indicates concentration. The approach to prayer is a part of the predesigned plan of God (PPOG) of the Royal Family of God; it is to be a precise correct procedure. All prayer is offered to God the Father, not to Jesus Christ or to the Holy Spirit. Any prayer offered to Christ is automatically cancelled, since it fails to follow God’s procedure for prayer.

Paul said in Eph 3:14 “For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father,”

Peter said 1Pe 1:17 “And if you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each man’s work,”

So prayer is addressed to the Father, Matt 6:6-9. This is also illustrated by the model prayer for the disciples; the Lord said in Matt 6:6-9 “But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you. And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition, as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need, before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.'”

So, all prayer is to be directed to the Father. It is to be in the name of or through the channel of the Son,

John 14:13-14 “And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”

Believers are to pray in the enabling power (filling) of God the Holy Spirit, Eph 6:18 “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit.”

God the Father, the recipient of prayer, receives prayer from three sources in the Church-age.

a. From God the Son, Heb 7:25.

b. From God the Holy Spirit, Rom 8:26-27.

God the Holy Spirit prays for you when you need help and don’t know you need help. He also prays for people who cannot pray for themselves. This is probably unique to the Church-age and related to the function of the omnipotence of the Holy Spirit on our behalf.

c. From Church-age believers as Royal Priests, Heb 4:16. “Let us be approaching the throne of grace with confidence that we may receive mercy and acquire grace with reference to seasonable help.”

True confidence can only exist in prayer when the believer attains at least the first stage of spiritual adulthood, spiritual self-esteem, 1Jo 3:21-22 “and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commands and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His command, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and impersonally love one another, just as He commanded us.”

Prayer effectiveness is related to reaching spiritual self-esteem. Failure in prayer is related to no personal love for God or mental attitude sins. Prayer is also related to the omniscience of God.

Isa 65:24 “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear.”

God hears the prayer twice: in eternity past, and at the time of the prayer. In fact, prayers and their answers were entered into the divine decrees, so that answers, rejections, petitions, interjections, and desires are all printouts of the decrees in the foreknowledge of God.

God knew and answered all your prayers in eternity past. All answered prayer is part of your portfolio of invisible assets. In fact, there is a direct relationship between your prayer life and your portfolio of invisible assets. Prayer is a part of our equal privilege of election, a part of our royal priesthood. However, prayer is also a part of our Christian production. Prayer is a ministry designed for every believer. Each Church-age believer has the privilege and the right to enter into intercessory prayer for others which is an actual ministry. Therefore, prayer is one of the most powerful and effective functions in all of history. Prayer is an invisible power directed toward invisible God in relationship to our invisible assets. Prayer is most effective when used by invisible heroes, i.e., believers who have attained spiritual maturity.

The more you grow in grace, the greater your spiritual growth, the greater your effectiveness in your prayer life. This effectiveness is not measured in terms of your eloquence when praying in public, but on the basis of your spiritual growth when praying in private. So the power of prayer increases as the believer advances in the PPOG [Predesigned Plan of God] for the Church-age.

Prayer as a Command from God.

Prayer is mandated for all dispensations. While the command for prayer precedes the existence of the PPOG [Predesigned Plan of God] and the royal priesthood, as in certain Old Testament passages, the New Testament records a separate way to pray related to prayer and the plan of God. The Old Testament command is found in passages like Jer 33:3 “Call upon Me and I will show you great and mighty things which you have not discovered.”

1Sa 12:23 “Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you;”

Prayer was at an all-time low just prior to the Church-age. Our Lord encouraged the disciples to pray during His time on earth so that they could receive power.

Matt 7:7-8, “Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking.”

Jn 15:7 “Ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you.”

Luk 11:13 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

Since the disciples didn’t ask, Christ breathed on them the Holy Spirit.

Jn 20:22 “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.'”

Then 50 days later in Ac 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.”
Since we are commanded to reside in the PPOG, we are commanded to pray frequently or consistently, “without ceasing.”

1Th 5:17 “Keep on praying continually” is a mandate for both habitual and spontaneous prayer.

Therefore, this verse can be translated, “Make a habit of prayer.”

In the PPOG [Predesigned Plan of God] you are always in a position to offer prayer.

Eph 6:18 “By means of all prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit [the filling of the Spirit inside the PPOG], and with this in view, be alert in prayer for all the saints with persistence and petition.”

In the PPOG you have alertness for when prayer is needed. Phil 4:6-7 “Stop worrying about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding shall garrison your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Thanksgiving is your capacity for appreciation and a part of the function of impersonal love.

You cannot divorce the faith-rest drill from prayer. Prayer demands faith!
Matt 21:22 “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”

Mr 11:24 “All things for which you ask in prayer, believe that you shall receive them, and they shall be given to you.”

Without the faith-rest drill, prayer doesn’t work. The key to effective prayer is understanding and making application from your portfolio of invisible assets. Effective prayer is related to executing the commands of the PPOG.

1Jo 3:22 “Whatever we ask, we shall continue to receive from Him, because we continue to execute His mandates and keep on doing what is pleasing in His sight.”
Mechanics of Prayer.

Public prayer should be short and should avoid repetition.

Matt 6:7 “And when you are praying [publicly], do not use meaningless repetition, as Gentiles do, for they assume that they will be heard for their many words.”
God is not impressed with fancy vocabulary.

Remember, “God does not look on the outward appearance, but on the right lobe.”

You cannot impress people and God at the same time with your prayers. In public prayer, you always add the principles of impersonal love, flexibility and thoughtfulness of others.

You must be thoughtful of others in prayer who are gathered with you. Long prayers should be reserved for private intercession and petition.

Matt 6:6 “But when you pray, go into your private room, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will provide for you.”

There is an agenda for your private prayer.

1) Confession of sin (rebound), if necessary, 1Jo 1:9.

This is to ensure the filling of the Spirit or residence in the PPOG [Predesigned Plan of God]. Only prayer offered in the status quo of the filling of the Spirit will be heard.

2) Thanksgiving expresses the concept of worship in private prayer.

Eph 5:20 “Always giving thanks to God the Father for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1Th 5:18 “In everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Capacity for thanksgiving comes from your personal love for God and your impersonal love for others.

This capacity for thanksgiving increases as you grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is hard to stay alert when you are in a routine situation, doing the same thing over and over again. Your thanksgiving to God is a part of your personal love for God. The more you love God and the more you appreciate Him, the greater your thanksgiving, and the greater your alertness in prayer.

3) Intercession means praying for others, Eph 6:18; James 5:16-18. This is a spiritual ministry. It requires that you have your own private prayer list.

4) Petition is praying for your own needs and situations where you are confused and have not yet learned a problem-solving device for that situation. Therefore, it is prayer offered on behalf of self, as per Heb 4:16 “Approach boldly the throne of grace, that we might obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

To approach boldly means you approach in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no place for sloppiness in prayer. Yet, that’s exactly what we have today among believers: emotion, ignorance, stupidity, and sloppiness because we’ve ignored the Biblical principles that mandate precise correct procedure. Because of this God the Son as our High Priest makes intercession for us at the right hand of the Father, Heb 7:25.

God the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, Rom 8:26-27. If God the Son and God the Holy Spirit offer prayer to God the Father, who are we to fail in this precise correct procedure? You can begin your prayer with the approach, “Heavenly Father, I’m coming in the name of the Son;” or you can conclude your prayer with “in Christ’s name, Amen.” You must go through channels, for this is precisely correct procedure.

There is no place for sloppiness in prayer. Accurate and effective prayer is one of the most powerful weapons in history. In prayer, the Christian takes the offensive against Satan in his world.

Prayer is not a system for controlling the lives of others. We cannot pray a prayer which violates the volition of someone else. The function of your royal priesthood is for the benefit of yourself and for the benefit of others, but it is not a system whereby you control others.

The Principle of Grace in Prayer.

In his prayer approach, the believer must be compatible with the place where prayer is received, the throne of grace. Since grace is the principle of prayer, no believer can petition for himself or make intercession on the basis of human merit, ability, morality, production, service or spiritual gift. Every believer approaches the throne of grace on the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ who is our great High Priest.

While the Father is propitiated with the work of Christ on the Cross, He is no respecter of persons. Therefore, we must approach the Father from inside the PPOG, our position of fellowship. Inside the PPOG our Lord, during the First Advent, had maximum effectiveness in His prayer life. That’s why the believer out of fellowship is not only weak but has no effectiveness in his prayer life.
God does not answer prayer because the believer is “good,” moral, sincere, benevolent, religious, concerned, altruistic, talented or possesses a pleasing personality. Answer to prayer is a divine decision.

Therefore, the believer’s popularity with others is never a factor in answered prayer.

Prayer is a weapon. For any weapon to be used effectively, you must understand how it functions before you use it. Prayer must be used as a weapon. Most people blaspheme when they pray because of arrogance while praying and ignorance of how to pray.

Effective Prayer Related to Spiritual Childhood.

You can have effective prayer in spiritual childhood. But like everything else in spiritual childhood, it is limited and does not peak out until you reach spiritual adulthood. Three problem-solving devices begun in spiritual childhood have a definite impact on the effectiveness of your prayer life: the rebound technique, the filling of the Spirit, and the faith-rest drill. These, along with your persistence in the PPOG determine your prayer effectiveness.

The relationship between the effectiveness of prayer and the faith-rest drill is mentioned in many prayer promises.

Matt 21:22 “All things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.”
Believing refers to the first stage of the faith-rest drill.

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you ask in prayer, believe that you will receive them, and they will be given to you.”

This refers to the faith-rest drill. Prayer cannot be effective unless the believer is residing inside the PPOG under the enabling power of the Spirit and consistent momentum from metabolized doctrine.

Metabolized doctrine will help you to understand both the limitations of your prayer life and the fantastic opportunities of your prayer life. It will limit you in some of your petitions, but it will expand your prayer life in intercessions. With these two areas of prayer correct, you will have a fantastic prayer life and you will enjoy every minute of it!

Effective prayer depends upon knowing what you’re doing.

1Jo 3:22 “Furthermore, whatever we have asked we have received from Him because we continue to execute His commands [residence, function, and momentum in the PPOG], and we keep on doing what is pleasing in His sight [spiritual adulthood].”

The result of rebound in prayer is noted in Phil 4:6.

Phil 4:6 “Stop worrying about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.”

Worry is mentioned because it’s a malfunction of the faith-rest drill, as well as a sign that you’re in the cosmic system. Anything that causes malfunction in the faith-rest drill also means malfunction in your prayer life. The faith-rest drill makes your prayers effective long before you’ve learned enough doctrine to know what’s going on in the Christian life. All mental attitude sins are destructive to effective prayer life; they must be eradicated by rebound and the faith-rest drill.

Jud 20 “Praying by means of the Holy Spirit.”

This emphasizes the importance of the power of God in prayer.

Effective Prayer Related to Spiritual Adulthood.

Confidence and effectiveness in prayer can only exist inside the PPOG when the believer has advanced to spiritual adulthood.

Confidence is a virtue directed toward God and is a virtue developed only inside the PPOG.

Confidence in prayer is dependent upon knowledge of God’s will. Therefore, effectiveness of prayer must relate to cognizance of the will of God.

1Jo 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence which we have face to face with Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask [and He does], we know that we have the request which we have asked from Him.”

This is really a prayer promise for the believer who has reached spiritual adulthood. At spiritual self-esteem we have that cognitive self-confidence to make all of our prayers effective.

Confidence in prayer reaches its peak at the point of spiritual self-esteem, and continues with maximum effectiveness in spiritual autonomy and spiritual maturity.

Heb 4:16 “Therefore, let us be approaching the throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in a seasonable time [when under the three categories of suffering for blessing].”

Efficacious prayer exists only to the extent that the believer is grace oriented. Until the believer attains spiritual adulthood at spiritual self-esteem, his prayers will be semi-effective at best.

Prayer is virtue dependent. In each stage of spiritual adulthood, the believer’s power in prayer increases sensationally. In spiritual childhood your prayers are not very effective because most of your petitions are related to arrogance, and your intercessions are only for those people you like. But all intercessory prayers must be impersonal.

The great power in intercessory prayer is impersonal love.

Remember also that prayer does not give you momentum; it is not a cure-all.

The promise to the believer in spiritual adulthood is found in John 15:7 “If you abide in Me [life in the PPOG], and My doctrines abide in you, whatever you wish shall be done for you.”

The important phrase is “and My doctrines abide in you.”

This promise however, is not like a blank check on which you can write any amount you want.

The key to prayer is doctrine first. When doctrine is in you, then you can “ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.”

The more doctrine you have in you the more you will know how to use the weapon of prayer effectively. One of your evaluations at the Judgment Seat of Christ will be how many of your prayers were answered.

Rom 12:12 “Rejoicing in hope [your confidence from spiritual self-esteem], persevering in undeserved suffering, devoted to prayer.”

One of the signs of spiritual self-esteem is your devotion to prayer in your own life.

Special Prayers.

The sanctification of food or saying “grace” before meals is a special prayer, 1Ti 4:4-5. This is a command for all believers.

1Ti 4:4-5 “For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.”

There may be ingredients in the food that are very harmful, but offering this special prayer will protect you. Grace before meals has a two-fold purpose.

1) The expression of gratitude to God for His logistical grace support, which includes food.

2) Sanctification of that food to eliminate any potential, harmful effects.

There is prayer for those in authority over us. As citizens of a client nation to God, this is a very important function for believers.

1Ti 2:1-2 “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness [life in the PPOG] and dignity.”

Verse one points out that there are certain people for whom we should express our thanksgiving to God in prayer. In addition, there is intercession on behalf of all mankind and petition for ourselves. Verse two gets specific–we are commanded to pray for governmental authority and all other authority. When you reach spiritual adulthood and impersonal love toward all mankind, this prayer really becomes effective.

Having impersonal love gives you the ability to forget about the personality, the idiocy, the antagonism of others, and to actually pray for those people with whom you do not agree, who are leading our nation the wrong way, or who are damaging our client nation. Impersonal love gives you phenomenal power for such a prayer. The confidence to offer such a prayer comes from personal love for God.

There is also prayer for the sick, James 5:15 “and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick.”

There is prayer for the unsaved, Rom 10:1 “Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.”

Paul prayed for the salvation of unbelieving Jews. Although you cannot pray that their volition will be coerced, you can pray that certain things will happen to try to open their eyes to the importance of the Gospel and have the opportunity to believe in Jesus Christ.

There is prayer for your enemies, Matt 5:44 “But I say to you, love your enemies [impersonal love], and pray for those who persecute you.”

This prayer reflects the phenomenal dynamics in spiritual adulthood from the confidence of spiritual self-esteem and the impersonal love of spiritual autonomy.

There is prayer for spiritual adulthood, Eph 1:15-19.

Eph 1:15-19 “For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you, and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.”

Phil 1:9 “And I pray this, that your virtue-love may abound still more and more in metabolized doctrine and all discernment.”

Virtue-love is confidence from personal love for God and impersonal love toward man from spiritual adulthood. Virtue-love is not only a problem-solving device used to pass momentum testing, but at the same time, it is also maximum effectiveness in prayer.
This is especially true for these categories of special prayers.

Col 1:9 “For this reason, we also [Timothy, Titus, Luke, and Paul], from the day we heard [the Epaphras report – pastor at Colosse], we have not ceased to pray for you, and to ask that you might be filled with all metabolized doctrine of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”

Wisdom and spiritual understanding are characteristics of spiritual self-esteem and spiritual autonomy.

There is prayer for the communication and communicators of Bible doctrine: for pastor-teachers, missionaries, evangelists, 2Th 3:1; Heb 13:18.

2Th 3:1 “Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you;”

Col 4:2-3 “Devote yourselves to prayer; in it, keeping alert with an attitude of thanksgiving, praying at the same time for us [teachers of Bible doctrine] as well, that God may open up to us a door for the teaching of the Word [doctrine], so that we may communicate [teach] the mystery doctrine from Christ.”

There is the prayer of widows, that is, ladies who become single either by the death, divorce, or abandonment of their husbands.

1Ti 5:5 “Now she who is a widow and has been left alone, and has fixed her confidence on God, she also continues in petitions and prayers [intercession] night and day.”

This special category of widows in spiritual adulthood can pray both night and day (more often than once a day) for themselves and for others. As a result of their very tranquil and uncomplicated life, they are able to be effective in continuous prayer on behalf of others.

Dynamics of Intercessory Prayer.

Intercessory prayer is prayer for others. For example, there is the very popular prayer of Elijah on Mount Carmel which demonstrates the power of intercessory prayer for the nation, 1Ki 18:42-46; James 5:16-18.

James 5:16-18 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the sky poured rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”

The power of intercessory prayer was also exercised in the early church on behalf of Peter, who was in prison and about to be executed.

Acts 12:5 “So Peter was being kept in prison, but fervent prayer was made for him to God by the church.”

The result of this prayer was Peter’s dramatic deliverance. He was chained between two Roman soldiers. But with every Roman guard asleep, Peter simply walked out of the prison.

Prayer for unbelievers is legitimate and a part of your dynamics of intercessory prayer. However, remember not to attempt to violate their volition by asking God to make them believe in Christ.

Paul said Rom 10:1 “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them [Jews] is for their salvation.”

Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot pray for the unsaved; you can, you just can’t pray that God will touch their volition. Our Lord’s intercessory prayer for the Church is found in John 17, the most phenomenal intercessory prayer ever made. The disciples’ prayer of Matt 6:9-13 is a prayer only for Israel during Christ’s incarnation. It asks for the institution of His millennial reign, which cannot be fulfilled until the Second Advent. Therefore, it doesn’t apply in the Church-age.

The dynamics of Paul’s intercessory prayers are seen in Eph 1:15-23, Eph 3:14-21, and Phil 1:9-11. In all these passages, Paul prayed for the spiritual growth of those whom he prayed for. God also intercedes for us in prayer. Because we have related prayer to our personal desires and lust pattern, we have acquired certain false concepts with regard to prayer and Bible doctrine in general; therefore, many times both our lives and our prayers fail.

For this reason, our Lord Jesus Christ as our High Priest makes intercession for us at the right hand of the Father.

Heb 7:24-25 “On the other hand, He abides forever; consequently, He holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore, also, He is able to deliver completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for us.”

The fact that our Lord always makes intercession for us indicates that we have not completely understood the doctrine of prayer. Many times we pray under pressure or stress.

Under those conditions, the Holy Spirit does a better job and intercedes for us.

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that https://twitter.com/Ticket2Heaven/status/1221699816784154625/analyticswhoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Study to show yourself approved to God!

The Tree of Life is a weekly teaching summary:

STUDY TITLE:

What our LORD was doing even before HE
created the earth, and before HE created man.

As we continue with our subject this evening, the Doctrine of the Dispensation of the Hypostatic Union, we need to establish what our LORD was doing even before He created the earth, and before He created man. In fact, some of most hidden mysteries concerning what our LORD provided is the fact that He was said to be the lamb who was slain before the foundation of the earth; Rev 13:8.

This passage and some others are considered to be the reasons why our LORD was said to be crucified even before the foundation of the earth or the creation of man. In fact, as a background to our passage Acts 2:12-24, And they all continued in amazement and great perplexity, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But others were mocking and saying, “They are full of sweet wine.” But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: “Men of Judea, and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give heed to my words.

For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is {only} the third hour of the day; but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:

And your old men shall dream dreams; Even upon My bondslaves, both men and women, I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit And they shall prophesy. And I will grant wonders in the sky above, And signs on the earth beneath, Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the great and glorious day of the LORD shall come. And it shall be, that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by GOD with miracles and wonders and signs which GOD performed through Him in your midst,
just as you yourselves know this {Man}, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of GOD, you nailed to a cross by the hands of GODless men and put {Him} to death. And GOD raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

The apostle John gives us some insight into the mind or the thinking of the entire Trinity and our LORD is a part of that mind or type of thinking. We know that because of a few doctrinal principles that have been revealed to us throughout Angelic History or Human History. Now, knowing everything as He does, the LORD has provided, from His omnipotence, a divine solution for every problem. However, the divine solution can only be discovered when the believer is living in the pre-designed plan of GOD and their very own personal sense of destiny.

This plan was designed specifically from His omniscience which knew every solution for every problem that you would ever face as He thought all about you. And the main difference is found in the fact that He was thinking of you and what was He thinking of me billions and billions of years ago in Eternity Past. Remember that time before the LORD really does not exist like it does for us.

This means that the LORD provided clear evidence of His deity and His humanity in eternity past when He demonstrated that He has everything under His control. None of us can truly understand the separation that came about between the perfect Son of GOD and the holiness of GOD the Father when for the first time and the only time ever, that the Son was separated from the Father.

This was such an amazing event that there are really no words that can describe what it was like for the Son of GOD to be separated from His Father…for the first and only time.

Who can even think or imagine what it was like for the perfect Son of GOD to contact the justice and righteousness of GOD as He was being offered up for the very first and only time as an offering for sin or a sin offering. The Cross was so powerful and filled with the holiness of GOD, that our LORD had to be empowered by GOD the Holy Spirit for the first and only time. Notice that our LORD relied upon the supernatural power of GOD the Holy Spirit to get Him through a time of suffering that no one has ever gone through before.

Our LORD had to rely on the power of GOD the Holy Spirit to pull Him through and comfort Him during this time of suffering. Remember that Acts 9:31 says, “So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and, going on in the fear of the LORD and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.”

Notice what GOD the Holy Spirit is called, He is called the Comforter of the Spirit in Acts 9:31; 2Co 1:.

2Co 1:2-8, Grace to you and peace from GOD our Father and the LORD Jesus Christ. Blessed {be} the GOD and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and GOD of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by GOD. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer; and our hope for you is firmly grounded, knowing that as you are sharers of our sufferings, so also you are {sharers} of our comfort. For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came {to us} in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.

Look at how GOD the Holy Spirit reveals the tremendous power that our LORD had to use when He was on the cross suffering for the sins of the world. This was all such an amazing event that it is overlooked by many as being to advanced. The point is that our LORD was in complete agreement with the plan of GOD for the entire human race.

What makes this even more glorious is that our LORD desired to fulfill the requirements of this spiritual death on His own with no manipulation. For even though it may seem that someone did this to our LORD, He is the one who chose to die for the sin of the world; John 10:17-18. Because in reality it was not the scribes and the Pharisees that killed Him. It was not the Romans who tried to kill Him nor was it even the Jews. It wasn’t any of the failure of others, in reality, it was our LORD who chose this plan to die for the sins of the world.

We also know some of the other events that took place, before the Cross, on the Cross, and then after the Cross. In fact, the LORD knew that Peter was going to fail and that is one of the reasons that our LORD used Peter after he failed.

Now, because the Bible is such an important manifestation for learning the truth, notice what Peter said in Acts 4:23-24, And when they [Peter and John] had been released, they went to their own {companions,} and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard {this,} they lifted their voices to GOD with one accord and said, “O LORD, it is Thou who didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them,

The LORD knew beforehand that all of us were not only in the mind of GOD in eternity past but we were also in the plan of GOD from eternity past. Then there is another aspect of GOD’s knowledge which is called the doctrine of Predestination which tells us that we were in the plan of GOD in eternity past. I refer to this plan constantly by calling it the PPOG [predesigned plan of God] or your very own personal sense of destiny. And therefore, very few believers ever prepare for coming disaster because in times of prosperity they think it’s going to last forever.

Therefore, what we are getting ready for is to learn from Proverbs 8:1-30, the plan of GOD and the word of GOD which is always made available for those who desire to know certain doctrinal principles that exist just for you and me; TODAY! And it was our LORD who chose this plan to die for the sins of the entire world.

Proverbs 8:1-30 is probably more definitive to us and for us than any other passage in the OT. It dramatizes the situations we all face in some way with regard to the correct dispensation that we are dealing with at this time. And therefore, I have decided to look at Proverbs chapter 8 verse, where we have a personification of Bible doctrine, and its implication to our lives.

What do I mean when I say that Bible doctrine is personified? I want you to think of all the wisdom that has come from our LORD and Savior concerning the place in our heart where doctrine lives and abides. Now, let me show you how fantastic the word of GOD is when it comes to learning principles that actually existed billions of years ago.

For example, we are going to note some of the mysteries and secrets that GOD has placed within His word for all of us to love and enjoy because of all the things GOD has prepared for those who love HIM. Let me first of all, establish some of the things we are going to note by explaining why there are certain things that Solomon says that may be a source of confusion to us.

In Prov 8:1 it says, Does not wisdom call, And understanding lift up her voice?

Now, right away I want you to notice something: Wisdom is being called “her” or “she” and therefore we call this wisdom, which is really metabolized doctrine, he or she. This should stimulate some curiosity as to why is wisdom, which is really metabolize doctrine, called she or her. GOD the Holy Spirit is the one member of the Trinity who is responsible for wisdom or metabolize doctrine.

Well, again we have a question, why is wisdom be called she or her? One of the most obvious reasons is that the female part of GOD and the ministry of GOD the Holy Spirit is a responder. Never forget that man was created in the image of GOD.

Gen 1:26-27, Then GOD said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” And GOD created man in His own image, in the image of GOD He created him; male and female He created them.

Gen 5:3, When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth.
Though the roles may change from time to time, the man is called and known to be the initiator because he is usually and normally the aggressor in the male female relationship. Now, this does not mean that the roles cannot change because they can. In fact, psychology has recently reported that a healthy male and female relationship is based upon the roles of those involved. This means that there are times when role reversal is healthy, when the female is the initiator or the aggressor and the male is the responder, but that is not the norm or standard.

Prov 8:1-11, Does not wisdom call, And understanding lift up her voice? On top of the heights beside the way, Where the paths meet, SHE takes her stand; Beside the gates, at the opening to the city, At the entrance of the doors, SHE cries out: “To you, O men, I [that is wisdom or metabolized doctrine] call, And my voice is to the sons of men. O naive ones, discern prudence; And, O fools, discern wisdom. Listen, for I [that is wisdom or metabolize doctrine] shall speak noble things; And the opening of my lips {will produce} right things. For my mouth will utter truth; And wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the utterances of my mouth are in righteousness; There is nothing crooked or perverted in them. They are all straightforward to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge. Take my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choicest gold. For wisdom is better than jewels; And all desirable things cannot compare with HER.

Notice it in Prov 8 so far. In Prov 8:1, wisdom is called “her voice.” VS 2, she takes her stand; VS 3 She cries out:

The point is that in the first 11 verses we have the principle of communication of Bible doctrine, that’s the first paragraph. Prov 8:1, Does not doctrine cry out?

Wisdom is chokmah and it means metabolized doctrine. In other words, doctrine has an invitation. Without the teaching of doctrine there can be no wisdom. Wisdom teaches doctrine. Without the perception, metabolization and application of Bible doctrine, there can be no wisdom. Receiving knowledge or understanding doctrine gives you a voice, it gives you an impact. And it will be an invisible impact but it will be greater than any impact in history.

Now, in this passage wisdom is being personified. It does not refer to TLJC [the Lord Jesus Christ], but it refers more to that which TLJC thinks. For example, the following verses in this chapter reveal that wisdom is differentiated from the person of TLJC, although in reality the two are inseparable.

Look at Prov 8:22, The LORD possessed ME at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. Notice that the LORD used wisdom to create the world. In Prov 8:24, When there were no depths I was “brought forth”, when there were no springs abounding with water.

Prov 8:25 before the mountains were settled, before the hills I was “brought forth”;

In Prov 8:26 while He TLJC had not yet made the earth and the fields, nor the first dust of the world.

Prov 8:27 when He established the heavens, I was there, when He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,

Prov 8:28 when He made firm the skies above, when the springs of the deep became fixed,

Prov 8:29 when He set for the sea its boundary, so that the water should not transgress His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth;

Prov 8:30 then I was beside him, as a master workman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him,

Prov 8:31 rejoicing in the world, His earth, and having My delight in the sons of men
.

In all of these verses note that wisdom is differentiated from TLJC. However, the Holy Spirit has chosen in this chapter to make a distinction between the two. Wisdom is a noun chokmah in the feminine and it refers to Bible doctrine which has been metabolized in an individual’s life.

Prov 8:1, does not wisdom doctrine call,

Call is the Qal future of the Hebrew verb qara which means to proclaim, to read, to call, to preach. In the Qal future it means that wisdom or doctrine will always proclaim, read and call. No matter what type of attack is made against it, Bible doctrine or the word of GOD will keep on proclaiming and calling. Qara also means to declare and announce freedom to those who are in slavery and bondage. Only doctrine will ever give the believer the experience of true freedom and liberty.

But you have to know that doctrine or that wisdom. You shall “know” the truth and the truth will set you free. And so truth doesn’t set every believer free because although truth is calling out, very few believers “know it.” Prov 8:1, Does not wisdom call, and understanding lift up her voice?

Understanding – tebunah – discernment – refers to the object of knowledge after one gets the understanding of knowledge. In other word’s wisdom or metabolized doctrine gives the believer understanding and discernment. In fact, when it says that understanding lifts her voice, it has to do with the red alert system in the soul that causes believers to know that something is not as it appears. Something is wrong, doctrinally.

Prov 8:1, does not wisdom call, and understanding lift up her voice?

Lift up is the Qal future of the Hebrew verb nathan which means to put forth, bring forth, or to give something. Here it means to give the believer future protection using the metabolization and application of Bible doctrine. It is doctrine which gives the believer discernment.

Heb 5:14, but solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

Prov 8:1, does not wisdom call, doctrine proclaim and understanding lift up her voice? Or give the believer the discernment needed in every situation. Only the believer with doctrine resident in the soul will ever have the ability to discern a situation properly.

Now where is doctrine taught? Is it available? Look at Prov 8:2, On top of the heights beside the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand; In other words, wisdom or metabolized doctrine is easy to find places as of now. Accessible places. Doctrine isn’t hidden! Anyone can get doctrine if they desire it, but one day Bible doctrine will be scarce.

Amos 8:11-12, “

Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD GOD, “When I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine for bread or a thirst for water, But rather for hearing the words of the LORD. And people will stagger from sea to sea, And from the north even to the east; They will go to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, But they will not find {it.}”

Notice back in Prov 8:2, we have a personification of doctrine. Doctrine is in the feminine gender so we have She doctrine takes her stand.

So verse 2 tells us, doctrine is available. And as long as I can stand I will do my best to teach doctrine from the pulpit.

Stand natsab means to take one’s stand, to recompense, to restore. Doctrine always directs the believer to take a stand, however, make sure you understand that it is a doctrinal one. Wisdom or doctrine always causes us to take a doctrinal stand, though many believers refuse to do so.

Natsab also means to set over, to establish, to station, to post, to garrison, to guard as an army. It means to watch out “for you” as well as watch “over you.” Wisdom or doctrine will set over the believer and establish the believer in the devil’s world. Doctrine will station itself and post itself over you for guidance and protection. And so this word means to take a stand with a firmness which implies the expression of strength.

Prov 8:2-3, On top of the heights beside the way, where the paths meet, she doctrine takes her stand; beside the gates, at the opening to the city, at the entrance of the doors, she doctrine cries out:

Cries out is the Hebrew verb ranan meaning to shout for joy or happiness.

Prov 8:3, Beside the gates, at the opening to the city, at the entrance of the doors, she cries out:

Always in the gateway in the ancient world there was an auditorium that served as a news room to let people know what was going on. And knowledge of Bible doctrine let us all know what is really going on.

At the entrance of the doors, she cries out: or communicates out loud. She, referring to metabolized doctrine. Doctrine is always available for those who have positive volition. GOD provides your right pastor and the local assembly as a part of logistical grace.

Prov 8:3-4, beside the gates, at the opening to the city, at the entrance of the doors, she doctrine cries out: To you, o men, I doctrine call,

Doctrine demands your attention. And so doctrine calls.

And my voice is to the sons of men. Or, all members of the human race.

Prov 8:5 “O naive ones, or ignorant ones discern prudence; or learn doctrine And, O fools, discern wisdom.

The word for wisdom or doctrine is chakmah and it has a technical meaning which means to have technical understanding. It means you have to learn a vocabulary that is technical. You have to learn categories that are technical. Theology and doctrine are synonymous. All good theology is based on Bible doctrine and it is technical. It requires concentration. And this means that a lazy mind without motivation will never make it.

Hymn #1

Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: Man is the instrument but not the author of the Word of God.

We also need to make sure that we all understand the main reason for interpreting the passage and the doctrine as accurate as we can.

Before you hear something that can change your life, it is extremely important that you do the right thing in the right way; Isa 54:17– to Isa 55:12.

No weapon, no matter what the weapons may be, can ever hurt you when you are living in God’s plan and not in the Cosmic System.

Rom 8:28 which tells us that: We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Isa 55:1 “Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost (M&M’s.)

Prov 17:16 = the richest man or woman in the world says to his students; “Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom [now get this], When he has no sense?

There are certain times when the believer can buy wisdom as PRO 23:23 says “Buy truth [doctrine], and do not sell it, Get wisdom and instruction and understanding.”

Prov 23:23 “Buy doctrine and do not sell out” which many believers do by quitting, or making vows they should have never made or making promises that you had no intention to keep.”

Even though the individual made promises and vows to our Lord and His people, these type of believers are described for us by James, our Lord’s half brother in James 1:2-8.

We understand a few vital principles that God the Holy Spirit wants us to believe as well as the many reasons that we need to be prepared to follow our Lord no matter what the cost may be.

“No matter what the cost may be,” I am not talking about M & M’s (money or materialism), I am talking about the D & D’, that is Dedication and Devotion that is the cost.

The first thing we need to understand is that the Bible in its’ original language are words of power for the Church-age believer.

Matt 24:35 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall not pass away.

John 6:63 “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

Prov 24:5 A wise man is strong, and a man (or woman) of knowledge increases power.

Man is the instrument but not the author of the Word of God.

2Pe 1:21 “For prophecy was never produced by an act of human will, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by means of the Holy Spirit.”

Great Life = to man and woman.
Great gift = Salvation and Wisdom
Great Love = Right Man-Right woman.

Great teaching = Bible doctrine
Great job = Found your niche.
Great friends — Friends cover at all times.

Great Experience = Your responsibility to others.
Great Message = You found your right pastor-teacher

Great Ambassadorship = Assigned to evangelize.
Greater grace = Pastor-teacher is assigned to you.
Great power = Filling of the Spirit.

Great Function = Exercise your spiritual gift.
Great Priest = Prayers to God

A pastor-teacher can teach whatever God the Holy Spirit reveals to him under the principle of ICE with emphasis on whatever subject he is teaching.

Isa 28:9 there are certain doctrines that new believers or immature believers must learn as “Those just weaned from milk or Those just taken from the breast.

“weaned from the milk” or “taken from the breast” = reveals all believers the need to perceive, metabolize and apply the word of God. God the Holy Spirit is said to be our Teacher of the Bible doctrine that we need to learn and to understand.

Our Lord taught His disciples about their need to recognize the teaching ministry of God the Holy Spirit because God the Son said that He would not leave us until His disciples were prepared.

“Helper” = the noun parakletos which is a technical term for the Holy Spirit and refers to someone who helps others.

Our responsibility = exercise volition to learn the Word of God and to apply the Word of God , but it is God the Holy Spirit who assists us advancing to maturity and producing fruit.

1. The Holy Spirit is called, “the Spirit of aletheia or the Spirit of doctrine.

2. He will guide you into all the truth or all the doctrine you need to learn and to understand.

3. He will not speak on His own initiative or without the Trinity agreeing .

4. Whatever He hears is a reference to the unity of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

5. The number of grace is 5 (Isa 5:1-30) and He [the Holy Spirit] will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

It is based upon interpreting the subject or the doctrine using the ICE principle.

ICE = acronym or initialism at times which usually means that the word mentioned is usually made up of initials.

This is when you usually use the first initial or the first letter of a word to reveal a certain principle or word by using the first letter of the word, to usually make up another word…like ICE.

1. Isagogics = the historical setting of the passage and how one uses the first letter of a word or an initial that the passage reveals to get the point of doctrine that we are studying.

There are times when we interpret the doctrine or the subject by using the first letter of a word to illustrate the importance of the history of the word that is being taught.

2. “C” = refers to the Categories of doctrines and to the systematic theology developed from combining Scripture with Scripture.

3. Then there is the letter “E” which is the exegesis or the original language of a passage that emphasizes what the original language says.

Exegesis is the grammatical and syntactical analysis of the passage from the original languages.

There are times when we study the Word of God and the best way we can teach it is through the exegesis or the original language = the “E” reveals in ICE.

(MB) Isa 28:9 “Is that so? And who do you think you are to teach us? Who are you to lord it over us? We’re not babies in diapers to be talked down to by such as you

(MB) Isa 28:10 ‘Da, da, da, da, blah, blah, blah, blah. That’s a good little girl, that’s a good little boy.'”

(MB) Isa 28:11 But that’s exactly how you will be addressed. God will speak to this people In baby talk, one syllable at a time

(MB) Isa 28:12 and he’ll do it through foreign oppressors. He said before, “This is the time and place to rest, to give rest to the weary. This is the place to lay down your burden.” But they won’t listen.

(MB) Isa 28:13 So GOD will start over with the simple basics and address them in baby talk, one syllable at a time “Da, da, da, da, blah, blah, blah, blah. That’s a good little girl, that’s a good little boy.”

(MB) And like toddlers, they will get up and fall down, get bruised and confused and lost.

John 15 = takes place right after our Lord and His disciples celebrated the Passover and right after our Lord also instituted the only ritual that the Church-age believer is responsible to keep = the “Lord’s Supper.”

What a promise He made to us because He does not lie and He has provided everything that we (that is His bride) would ever need as a reminder that we belong to Him.

Do you live like that?

Do you realize who you belong to and who belongs to you?

1Pe 2:9 You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession,

1Pe 2:9 that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

They could not celebrate the reality of the “Lord’s Supper” until our Lord died upon the cross and fulfilled certain commands that the “Old Testament” prophesied and would be fulfilled by our Lord.

He did reveal some of the most important principles of doctrine because of what the apostle Paul said in 1Co 11:23-25.

1Co 11:23 = where the apostle Paul did say and did teach that at certain times the principle of the ritual of the cross being converted to the reality of the cross.

Paul reveals to us how he and the other apostles heard about the sufferings that our Lord said would take place when our Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, died upon the Cross.

He taught the unlimited atonement, which means that “our Lord died for all” and that He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

John 1:29 “Behold, He (our Lord) is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

There were also many times when our Lord would reveal that He was about to suffer as no one ever suffered before.

The Son of God reveals who our Lord was as He was related to the deity of the Trinity.

The Son of man is a manifestation of the humanity of our Lord in bodily form on earth.

He had parents, a childhood, a physical body that He was able to resurrect it, but that was part of the difference between Jesus as the Son of Man and Jesus as the Son of God.

The Son of Man was physical, subject to physical laws; the Son of God was not.

They thought that their Messiah was going to come, set up His kingdom, and destroy all of the Romans who refused to bow down to them because they had rejected and refused the authority and the kingship of Christ.

They wanted the crown but not the cross.

Like so many unbelievers as well as lukewarm believers they wanted the victory of God without the cost of the victory which is found in many passages throughout the Bible.

I know of an individual who thinks that he is a pastor and who wants what he thinks all pastors have, like riches and blessings that he has learned the hard way that plagiarism is not what he thinks.

I can make one of three decisions concerning this individual who really does nothing except to personally attack me or attacks members of our congregation.

1. Expose his lies and attack him for judging me or our congregation.

2. Don’t expose his lies and let others think that what he teaches is from God.

3. Totally ignore him.

They have heard certain phrases over and over again that revealed the principle of losing your life for the cause of Christ and most of the Jews refused to do that.

Matt 10:39 “He who has found his life shall lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake shall find it.

1. He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes.

2. Such as the fact that Jesus would die for His disciples and for what He believes.

3. He would be raised up or resurrected on the third day.

There was an entire faction of religious leaders and teachers who didn’t even believe that there was a Resurrection or “any resurrection at all” = Sadducees.

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that https://twitter.com/Ticket2Heaven/status/1221699816784154625/analyticswhoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Study to show yourself approved to God!

STUDY TITLE:

Our ultimate goal in life, how we can glorify God.

This past week we noted the importance of understanding that there is coming a time when God will manifest the epitome of His justice and righteousness blessing man called the Millennial Reign. The Millennial reign is a literal not figurative thousand-year reign of Christ on earth beginning at the Second Advent and going to the end of human history, prophesied throughout the Old Testament and in Rev 20. The millennium is promised to Israel in the Davidic covenant found in 2Sa 7:8-17. Psa 89-20-37 which says that David would have a son who would sit on the throne in Jerusalem where He would rule the world for 1,000 years.

Psa 89:35-37, “Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David. His descendants shall endure forever, And his throne as the sun before Me. It shall be established forever like the moon, And the witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah.

Then in speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ coming from the lineage of David, the Lord says in 2Sa 7:16, “And your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”

A fulfillment of our Lord ruling during the Millennial reign. The millennium is plagiarized by Satan’s attempt to create perfect environment on the earth, not only during the Church Age, but especially in the Tribulation period. The Millennium is also proclaimed by angelic heralds in Rev 10 and by human heralds in Rev 11. It is a time of perfect environment existing because Satan is bound and demons are removed. And because Satan and demons are removed, there is no religion in the Millennium. Religion is part of human good and evil.

The baptism of fire removes all unbelievers from the earth at the beginning of the millennium, (Jewish unbelievers) Eze 20:34-38; (Gentile unbelievers) Matt 25:31-46. Therefore, it will be a period of time when the justice of God imputes fantastic blessings to the righteousness of God found in mankind. However, meanwhile we live in the dispensation of the Church-age where God can reveal some of the manifestations of this promised kingdom right now in the midst of Satan and his kingdom of darkness which is made up of both fallen angels and demons. And the question you and I should have is how can we do so?

Our main subject that we have been noting concerning the justice and righteousness of God with the doctrine of imputations which is coming up in our study. The main principle again is that all blessing from God originates with divine justice and terminates with the divine righteousness that was imputed. But always remember, God will never give us anything unless we have the capacity and therefore capacity becomes a big issue.

This is the principle behind passages like Phil 4:10-13 where the apostle Paul says, But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

2Co 12:9-10, And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore, I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

1Ti 6:6-8, But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.

Heb 13:5, Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”

Contentment and inner happiness reveals you have the capacity to fill up the potential that you have for divine blessing from God which glorifies God. Now, always remember this principle speaking to the Jewish people but also applicable to us Gentiles in Isa 60:21, “Then all your people will be righteous; They will possess the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified.”

God is glorified when He is able to give to us. He is glorified by the work He does for us. The glorification of God by means of the Church (Eph 3:21) occurs when the believer attains spiritual adulthood and moves to spiritual maturity. In Eph 3:20 Paul writes, Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, that is the divine power of the Holy Spirit, Acts 1:8, Eph 5:18 and Heb 4:12.

Eph 3:21 to Him [God the Father] be the [notice] glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Notice that God is to be glorified “in the Church” just like He was glorified by means of the Lord Jesus Christ. And it is at this time that the believer is said to be “filled with all the fullness of God,”

Eph 3:14-19, For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

Eph 1:3-4 says not blessed but eulogetos means “Worthy of praise and glorification be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He (God the Father) elected us in Him before the foundation of the world,

Ephesians 1 teaches that the first thing God ever did for us is the means of glorifying Him, which is to receive the blessings He has provided for us. Billions of years ago, God the Father deposited into escrow, the greatest blessings that you and I can’t even imagine. And these fantastic blessings are tailored perfectly for you. And because under the doctrine of election, God wills the highest and the best for you as a believer, it is only when you receive that highest and best that you glorify God. This is why we have noted that every believer has a tremendous escrow account in Heaven. People often ask what is God’s will for my life? And the answer is very simple. God’s will is for you to glorify Him.

How?

God’s will is for you to withdraw from your escrow account as much as you can. God has the highest and the best for you. He has the greatest blessings, blessings that stagger the imagination. And God’s will for your life is for you to have the most phenomenal blessings. And the very fact that some of you don’t truly believe that and think God is fighting against you because of some sins in your life reveals that you have bought a lie from Satan and his kingdom. The fact that you do not have the most phenomenal blessings in time and eternity simply means that you’re choosing to be a loser. It is making choices that makes us losers. It is making choices that makes us winners.

God not only wills the highest and best for each believer but, at the same time, He provides equal privilege and equal opportunity to attain these blessings. Equal privilege means that you are in union with Christ and His church. Equal opportunity means that you have logistical grace support. And so, there is no excuse for any believer in all of the history of the Church-age for not receiving phenomenal blessings. The reason is just plain old negative volition toward doctrine. It takes perseverance and positive volition toward doctrine. And you can’t be positive if you submit to negative feelings and depressions…or if you allow someone’s personality to get in the way of your momentum.

I know of certain individuals right now who have problems with some of the personalities in positions of leadership in this assembly and that is the pettiness found in an immature believer. It’s petty, it’s unimportant, inconsequential, it comes from small-minded carnal believers as 1Co 3:1-3 teaches. They choose personalities over doctrine. And when you do so you will end up thinking doctrine doesn’t work and you start to peel off and begin to miss vital doctrines, and then you’ve had it. All you do is cut yourself off from being able to withdraw from your escrow account in heavenly places.

So why are you here? Only the believer who stays with doctrine can really answer that question! You are here to glorify God!

Rev 4:11, “Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created.”

Isa 43:21, “The people whom I formed for Myself, Will declare My glory.”

The next question you should have is “How can I glorify God?”

Glorifying God demands understanding. And you will be kept alive by God long enough to have the opportunity to understand. You will be kept alive by God to fulfill His plan. Unless you’re a cosmic believer and you reach the point of divine discipline and become a loser. So, God’s will for your life as a member of the royal family of God is to bless you. It is to give you prosperity in the midst of all adverse situations. Therefore, in eternity past, God provided a fantastic plan which included His highest and best just for you. And you glorify Him when you live in that plan and receive all the blessings he has designed for you!

Eph 1:3-6, Worthy of praise and glorification be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He (God the Father) elected us in Him before the foundation of the world, In love, He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, resulting in the praise the glory of His grace.”

Notice once again, everything is for His glory! God had a reason for all He has done for you and this reason gives purpose to your life. Remember that anything God does results in His glorification. God does not depend on us for His pleasure or His glory. He enjoyed these things in eternity past when no one else existed. God doesn’t depend on us for His pleasure and glory but instead He expresses His pleasure and glory toward us. Therefore, because God is to be glorified you and I are the beneficiaries of His blessings and divine provisions. God is not glorified by our system of human works but is glorified by meeting our every need. Isa 26:15, Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord, Thou hast increased the nation, Thou art glorified;

Psa 50:15, And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will glorify Me.”

God is glorified when He rescues us! Moses found out what God’s glory was all about in Exo 33:18-19, Then Moses said, “I pray Thee, show me Thy glory!” And He said, “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the Lord before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion.”

God’s pleasure is to bless His creatures. God’s pleasure is to give to His creatures! And this is why Elihu said in Job 36:11 that if we obey God and serve Him, we will spend our days in prosperity and our years in pleasures.

Job 36:11, “If they hear and serve Him, They shall end their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.

In Rom 5:15 we left off with verse 15 with the importance of understanding the a fortiori doctrinal conclusion which says If God provided the greater in justification it follows a fortiori that He will provide the less in temporal blessing from the justice of God.

Now, A fortiori is a system of logic using comparison and Paul is using it here when he says…. in Rom 5:15, For if by the transgression of the one [Adam] the many died [the human race] much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many

And so, it is the provision of temporal blessing that glorifies God in time and therefore for any believer to have any of the blessings of life in the devil’s world that is glorifying to God. A fortiori says “Much more” if the blessings from God glorify God in time when it was difficult for mankind to be blessed because he possessed an OSN [old sin nature], then think of how easy it will be for God to bless in eternity when he is minus an OSN. If God did the most for us when we were spiritually dead in Adam, He can only do much more than the most for us now that we possess divine righteousness and resultant justification. That is because when the most was done for us, we were related to the wrong man—the first Adam. But now we are related to the right man—the Last Adam, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Translation: Rom 5:15 “But not as that transgression [Adam’s original sin], so also is that gracious gift [the work of Christ]. For if by the transgression of one [Adam] the many [human race] died [spiritual death], much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, by the one man, Jesus Christ, who has provided superabundance for the many [who believe].”

1. The believer in Christ through salvation adjustment to the justice of God has been placed in a greater position than that which was lost by Adam in the garden.

2. God provides more in grace adjustment to the justice of God than man ever possessed originally in the garden. The gift of grace, Jesus Christ, provides the a fortiori link.

3. The justice of God did the most in judging our sins when Christ was carrying them on the Cross.

4. If the justice of God did the greater at the cross it follows a fortiori that the justice of God can do the less—temporal and eternal blessing for the mature believer.

5. The sin of the first Adam results in the condemnation of the human race but now the grace gift of God provides more for the many than the first Adam lost originally.

6. Hence, the believer is not restored to the status of Adam before the fall, he is restored to something far greater than Adam ever had.

Think of it, by indwelling the serpent, deceiving the woman and therefore putting Adam into a position of having to choose between God and the woman, Satan thought he had defeated both of God’s creations, Ish and Ishshah, man and woman, and by sight he was right. And yet, as usual, Satan under-estimated the wisdom of God and lost. Because God not only saved the man and the woman but even seemed to reward them for their humility to recognize a principle that the Lord Jesus Christ would teach over 4,000 years later which is the fact that the Lord is the vine;

Therefore in John 15:5, He would say “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Acts 4:12, “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.”

7. Therefore, what Satan thought was actually a great victory was one of his greatest, if not, the greatest of his defeats.

8. This constitutes a double a fortiori. If God can do the greater at salvation He can do the less after salvation. If God can do less after salvation He can do greater than less again and again and again for all of eternity.

In other words, the principle is that God always save the best for last, and therefore 1Co 2:9 even becomes more meaningful. For all of eternity, the blessings of God that are from God will keep on getting better as life goes on – and they will never stop because there is no stopping because there is no end, there is just the great “I AM.”

Our next verse in this chapter is: Rom 5:16, And the gift [salvation] is not like that which came through the one who sinned [our Lord’s gift is different then what Adam gave us]; How? for on the one hand the judgment [of Adam’s original sin] arose from one transgression [Adam partaking of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil] resulting in condemnation [that is condemnation of the entire human race], but on the other hand the free gift [salvation] arose from many transgressions [Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world] resulting in justification [anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ receives +R [R=the happiness of God] and is justified before God].

The word for gift is the Greek noun dorema and it refers to the Lord Jesus Christ as the last Adam. The gift is the Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, the last Adam is not like the first Adam but there are similarities which fall under the principles of biblical typology. Adam is also dissimilar in many respects. Let me give you some examples, in Luke 3:38 Adam is called the “son of God.” Jesus is, or course, also called the “Son of God” and of course that is one of the titles of our Lord Jesus Christ. Adam’s sonship is physical. He was created by God out of the dust of the earth. Therefore, in the physical sense, God is Adam’s father. Jesus’ sonship, on the other hand, is spiritual. He is God’s “only begotten son.”

1Co 15:45-49, So also it is written, “the first man, Adam, became a living soul.” the last Adam [His humanity] became a life giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural [Adam came before the Lord Jesus Christ]; then the spiritual. The first man [Adam] is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. As is the earthy [Adam was dead in sin], so also are those who are earthy [those in Adam die], and as is the heavenly [Christ is alive], so also are those who are heavenly [those in Christ will be made alive] and just as we have borne the image of the earthy [the nature of Adam or the O.S.N.], we shall also bear the image of the heavenly [the new nature given to those who are born again].

Adam was a created being, the Lord Jesus Christ is not a created being; “For by Him all things were created (Col 1:15). He was not subordinate but took on the role of a son. Although both were “sons of God” the sonship of Christ is far superior. Adam was miraculously born (Gen 2:7). This is true also of Christ (Matt 1:18-25). Adam was formed out of the dust of the earth. God created him full grown. The Lord Jesus Christ, on the other hand, was born of a virgin. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit. Adam’s birth was a shadow of Christ’s birth.

Adam loved his bride, the woman later on called Eve. He cared for her and was concerned (Gen 2:23-25). Just as Adam loved his bride Jesus loves His bride, the church. Paul writes in Eph 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” We again see the superiority of the antitype. Adam loved his wife because she was given to him by God. Christ loves His church because she was given to Him by God. Remember what our Lord said in John 6:37-39, “All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.

John 10:28-29, and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world. But through Christ, salvation from sin has entered the world. Because of Adam, his sin brought spiritual death [spiritual separation from God] into the world. When Christ came into the world he brought spiritual life into the world.
