Hymn #1
Hymn #2
Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word
Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.
1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND
If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:
John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV
Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.
John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV
Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.
Sermon: Are we ready to follow our Lord by having the mind of
Christ or the thinking of Christ as our guidance and direction?
As we continue our study of the “Word of God” concerning the “Four Gospels”, as well as “The Old Testament Prophets” and the “Early Church Fathers” all of whom we identified as having the Typology that was involved by means of the “Word of God.”
They are:
(1) The Four Gospels;
(2) The Old Testament Prophets;
(3) The Early Church Fathers.
All of them are identified as those who practice “The Doctrine of Typology which is the study of Type’s as they are used to bring glory to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Typology is the study of the of the classification of a subject which is based upon the different categories that are mentioned.
Typology is a doctrine of Theological Terms or Theological Types especially of those who hold these things together as being sacred in the eyes of God.
We begin with the Apostle Peter in 2Pe 1:2, the Apostle Peter gives us a blessing that he defines as being precious in the eyes of God.
There are many times that we read a passage in the English Language and the word that is used is translated “knowledge” in the English but in the original language there are usually two Greek words that are mentioned in the original Language: gnosis (knowledge) or epignosis knowledge (which is doctrine converted into wisdom ).
God the Holy Spirit is making a distinction between gnosis knowledge which is knowledge perceived or epignosis knowledge which is knowledge believed and applied.
It is translated “True knowledge” not just knowledge heard or even knowledge understood but it is knowledge believed and metabolized or gnosis knowledge converted into epignosis knowledge.
And when gnosis is converted into epignosis or knowledge is converted into wisdom, then you have divine knowledge and blessings as you go forward in the plan of God.
In 2Pe 1:4, the apostle Peter is actually saying that this is a great passage that deals with the fact that Peter tells us that “God has graciously granted to us the ability to partake of our Lord’s precious and magnificent promises.
Therefore, what are “those things” that Peter is talking about in 2Pe 1:2 when Peter says something that you will be motivated by:
(1) Grace and prosperity
(2) His divine power
(3) True knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
(4) His precious and magnificent promises;
(5) Become partakers or partners
This is a great passage that reveals that the apostle Peter uses the Greek noun timios (tim’-ee-os) which includes the fact that the Word of God includes what Peter says about the promises of God and the precious and valuable or costly, honored and esteemed, Word of God.
In fact, I love the descriptions that Peter uses at the end of 2Pe 1:4 where Peter describes how precious and magnificent the promises of God really are.
We also need to appreciate how precious God’s grace is as Psa 36:7 says “How precious is Thy lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Thy wings.”
In Psa 139:17 How precious also are Thy thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
Look at Prov 24:4 And by knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.
The questions we should ask ourselves is “Are we ready?”
Are we ready to follow our Lord by having the mind of Christ or the thinking of Christ as our guidance and direction?
Sometimes the questions that need to be answered are those questions that stimulate us in ways that we can all understand and live by.
Do not fall into the satanic trap of “not being ready” for the enemy.
Do not fall into the satanic trap of being deceived by those who are not ready.
Here is where we can fall into the traps of deception by thinking that we are more than ready, when in reality, we are not ready at all.
This is why the Apostle Paul warned us about “not being ready” for that which the Lord has brought your way.
In Prov 25:14 {Like} clouds and wind without rain is a man who boasts of his gifts falsely.
However, as one of the Proverbs said; “Like clouds and wind without rain” is like a person who is cheap at Christmas time.
Here are some believers who claim to have gifts for you but their claim is based upon their lies to try and get ahead in life.
Without rain is like a person who boasts or brags of his gifts falsely.
The Apostle Paul also said in 1Co 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become foolish that he may become wise.
The main issue again is there are certain questions that are simplistic, but we complicate the answers.
Remember, 1Co 14:33 for God is not {a God} of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
“Are you ready?”
“Are you prepared?”
“Are you motivated spiritually?”
“Are you content?”
“Have you Rebounded”
“Have you Recovered”
“Are you filled with the Spirit”
“Are you living in The Faith Rest Drill”
“Do you have Grace Orientation?”
“Do you have Doctrinal Orientation”
“Do you know about your personal Sense of Destiny”
“Do you have Personal Love For God The Father”
“Do you have Impersonal Unconditional Love for All Mankind?”
“Do you have Contentment and Perfect Happiness with God?”
“Are you living in The Ultimate Problem Solving Device which is Occupation with the Lord Jesus Christ?”
We need to understand that all of these are needed if the believer desires to learn and apply them.”
Therefore, this is another “reason for the season” and why the Apostle Paul and other Theologians throughout human history have taught God’s Word in spirit [that is pneuma which is by means of the filling of the Holy Spirit] and in truth [which is in the feminine Greek noun aletheia correctly translated truth or doctrine.
In fact, as a part of some of the principles that we all must learn and understand in “some measure or another,” the fact that the plan of God for our life will go on “with or without us.”
The issues again and the questions we should ask ourselves is “are we ready” to think with the mind like of Christ?
Are you ready to let the “Word of God” guide you and direct you to receive God’s highest and best from the Lord?
Here are some of the principles that we need to understand which are very important and vital concerning the place of the “Four Gospels” as well as some of the “Divine Principles” that we need to learn and to apply as a part of our spiritual life.
Here is the principle again of, is the readiness that the Apostle Peter talked about in 1Pe 3:15, which says “Sanctify [or Set Apart] Christ as Lord in your hearts, “always being ready” to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;”
Now, before we go on with the difference between gnosis (knowledge) or epignosis (wisdom) which is what we need to be sure of the fact that we are ready and prepared.
By now, you should understand that there’s a tremendous difference between having gnosis (knowledge) and epignosis knowledge (wisdom).
1. The will of God for mankind is two fold.
For the unbeliever: Salvation.
For the believer: Metabolized doctrine.
1Ti 2:3, This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the epignosis knowledge of the truth.
The apostle Paul said to Titus in TIi 1:1 that he was Paul, a bond servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the [epignosis] knowledge of the truth which is according to living the spiritual life,
In Eph 4:13, until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the epignosis knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ.
2. The cosmic believer fails to metabolize doctrine, 2Ti 3:2 7.
That’s why they end up under divine discipline and will eventually die the sin unto death says the word of God.
The reason why the carnal believer does not metabolize doctrine is simply because the power of the Holy Spirit does not function in the cosmic system.
They are always learning academic subjects and doctrine, but it is all gnosis and only academic. They are never able to come to epignosis doctrine.
3. Only metabolized doctrine can be useful for problem solving, Eph 1:17.
Eph 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the epignosis knowledge of Him.
4. Philem 6 teaches that all genuine fellowship with believers is based on metabolized doctrine and virtue.
Phm 1:6 {and I pray} that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the epignosis knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake.
5. Therefore, only metabolized doctrine can fulfill the mandate of virtue first in the PPOG, Phil 1:9.
Phil 1:9 In fact, I pray this, that your virtue-love may excel to the maximum still more and more by means of epignosis knowledge metabolized doctrine resulting in all spiritual discernment,
2Pe 1:8 for if these {qualities} are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge epignosis of our Lord Jesus Christ.
6. Consequently, only metabolized doctrine can fulfill the PPOG, Col 1:9 10.
7. Only metabolized doctrine can provide blessing under the PPOG.
If you have only gnosis doctrine, there is no basis for blessing; 2Pe 1:3-4.)
2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you by means of the epignosis knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;
2Pe 1:3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the epignosis knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
2Pe 3:17 you therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the error of unprincipled men, you fall from your own steadfastness,
2Pe 3:18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him {be} the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
8. You can have a zeal to know God but if you do not have metabolized doctrine it is useless.
Rom 10:2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge.
9. True wealth and prosperity comes from epignosis doctrine, Col 2:2.
10. The new man can only be renewed and energized through metabolized doctrine.
Like He said to Peter who was sincere but sincerely wrong in his assessment of the spiritual life.
Matt 16:23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.”
For example, in Psa 119:63, the writer who was under extreme pressure said, I am a companion of all those who respect Thee, and of those who keep Your doctrines.
In Psa 101:6, David said, My eyes shall be upon the “faithful” of the land, that they may dwell with me; he who walks in integrity is the one who will minister to me.
In Psa 101:7, on the other hand, he who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; he who speaks falsehood shall not maintain his position before me.
Many of you know about the great friendship that David had with Jonathan.
And in 2Sa 1:26, we are told that, David says concerning Jonathan, You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was more wonderful than the love of women.
1Sa 20:23 “As for the agreement of which you and I have spoken, behold, the Lord is between you and me forever.”
Hymn #3
The following link is to a good news message describing how one can receive eternal life:
Ticket to Heaven, it was written for anyone not absolutely certain about their eternal future.
Thanks for posting this. McLaughlin is a sound doctrinal pastor/teacher. There seems to be only a handful left. I will share this site on facebook and instagram.
