Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

Matt 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”

In 2Co 4:4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Phil 2:6 who, although He preexisted in the essence of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

Col2:9 For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form,

1Ti 3:16 And by common confession great is the mystery of godliness: God was revealed in the flesh,

We are to have the same thinking that our Lord had during the dispensation of the hypostatic union.

Under the doctrine of kenosis, our Lord did not use His deity in connection with the Father’s plan for the incarnation.

Note the secret of our Lord’s greatness in His humanity: “He humbled Himself.”

It is found in the first part of the verse, in 1Ti 3:16, which is translated “godliness” and it really means to live the spiritual life.

First of all, what does the word eusebeia which is translated godly refer to.

Most of the time the word eusebeia means to be godly or holy.

Godliness is derived from the Greek word eusebeia which connotes the duty or the responsibility of the royal priesthood to God under operation grace.

Godliness has some very interesting definitions such as the fact that godliness is related to our Lord’s residence in the PPOG for His spiritual life; 2Ti 3:16-17.

Godliness or living the spiritual life is found in 2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

2Ti 3:17 that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Godliness also refers to residence, function, and momentum inside your own palace and the PPOG for your life.

In the analogy of 1Ti 4:7-8, teaches that eusebeia or godliness is compared to physical exercise.

Verse 8 presents the analogy that physical exercise profits for a short time. If you have a priority slot for exercise, you’re motivated to exercise.

Rom 9:5 whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

Who is forever the same? Psa 102:24-27, God is!
In Heb 1:8-12, this passage is quoted about our Lord Jesus Christ.

Who is our light? Psa 27:1 (A Psalm of David.) The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?

John 8:12 Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

Who is the way or path? Psa 16:11 Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; In Thy presence is fulness of joy; In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.

Who is in charge of the angels? Psa 103:20 Bless the Lord, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!

2Th 1:7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well Who gives us rest?

Exo 33:14 And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Who gives eternal life? Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Godliness or living the spiritual life is found in 2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
