Hymn #2
Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word
Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.
1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND
If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:
John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV
Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.
John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV
Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.
Sermon: Tenth Commandment in the Mosaic Law.
The Lord protects us from Envy and Jealousy.
We are almost completed with our Last or the Tenth Commandment in the Mosaic Law designed by the Lord to protect us from envy and being jealous concerning what others may have.
Exo 20:17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
Job is saying “I made a solemn oath with myself never to undress a girl with my eyes.”
Here is the exact same sin that our Lord warned us about lusting in the heart by coveting someone or something that does not belong to you, Matt 5:28.
Matt 5:28 “everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.”
Notice the analogy of our eyes looking and lusting after someone or something that does not belong to us.
The eyes of the soul reveals the perception of the individual who because of having the right mental attitude of the soul, can glorify the Lord.
Mark 4:24 our Lord said, “Take care what you listen to.
In Luk 8:18 “Take care how you listen;
Isa 11:3 And He [TLJC=The Lord Jesus Christ] will delight in respecting the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
Job is saying, Isn’t calamity reserved for the wicked? Isn’t disaster supposed to strike those who do wrong?
Isn’t God looking and observing how I have been living?
Job 1:8 “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”
Job 31:7 “If my step has turned from the way” it’s because his heart walked after his eyes.
In this passage, our heart goes after our eyes and our eyes are the trouble because of what we keep focusing in on.
The eyes of the soul reveals the perception of the individual who because of having the right mental attitude of the soul, can glorify the Lord.
Instead make a covenant or an agreement with your eyes!
Look straight on and do not let your eyes wander!
Keep your eyes from things that are likely to entice you or attract you.
Psa 73:1-28 is a long Psalm that deals with how and why the wicked prosper and how easy it is for us as believers to adjust to that in the spiritual life .
Psa 73:1-28 also describes some of the frustrations that many believers have had at times as they seek to fulfill the PPOG [predesigned plan of God]and their very own PSD [personal sense of destiny].
God’s people observing those believers and unbelievers who seem to be prospering.
Heb 12:3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.
Growing weary and losing heart speaks of not becoming frustrated by the blessings that others have but rather we should even rejoice with them for the blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon them.
The Lord gave certain tribes the talent and the ability to either be blessed with fantastic vocal chords, or with the ability to write music and lyrics as well as the ability and talent to play a musical instrument.
He wrote about ten songs and so this is said to be a Psalm or a Song of Asaph, a fine and chief musician in Israel.
This type of thinking that “God is good to His people,” is very important especially when you’re going through something and you don’t know how that situation is going to turn out.
He almost fell and slipped because he had become jealous and envied the prosperity of the wicked.
Covetousness, like many of the other mental attitude sins, can produce physical sickness as well as mental disorder.
Prov 14:30 A tranquil heart is life to the body, But envy or jealousy is rottenness to the bones.
There are certain people who prosper even though they are wicked.
He saw the present condition of the wicked prospering.
He saw what they had right now, but he forgot their future.
He saw what God had given them.
God in His Grace actually will allow the wicked to prosper on this earth.
Once they die they suffer in the eternal lake of fire and so in God’s grace, He blesses them and let’s them have some enjoyment, because He’s a just and righteous God.
Matt 5:45 b He causes His sun to rise on {the} evil and {the} good,
There are reverisionistic believers and unbelievers who cheat and lie and steal and who are criminals and who would do what they can to get ahead and they can get more than you.
He saw their outward display of prosperity— He saw what they had.
A New car, new home, better job, fine clothing, no problems with the finances, everything is going right.
You look at what they have but you only see their outward display.
1Sa 16:7 b God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
We are involved with a spiritual warfare that is invisible and therefore it requires spiritual instructions.
We do not see the discomfort and lack of contentment in the wicked soul.
You don’t see when they go to sleep at night that they have all these riches and all these things and all this form of prosperity, but there’s something missing in their soul.
They don’t have that peace that goes beyond understanding, Phil 4:6.
You would be shocked at how fast you would say, “I want to come back to my life, I don’t want to trade places with them.”
He doesn’t know whether or not there are “no pains” in their death, he is just revealing to us his frustrations when he was going through the jealousy or envy that almost got him down through his problem of covetousness .
There are quite a few Theologians or Commentators of Jewish history who say that the apostle Paul seemed to have a problem with coveting as he insinuated that he did in Rom 7:7 b.
Rom 7:7 “I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
“If you have money and prosperity all of their problems are solved and that’s not true.”
Verse 4 = “their body is fat.” It means that their strength was from their riches and they were really healthy.
In the ancient world, prosperity was manifested by the strength of the human body being healthy and prosperous through the physical body.
This is the thinking of the individual who almost slipped because of the envy and jealousy which led him to coveting.
He is saying “There’s no pain from their death like there is with others who are dying.”
This is a false truth because no one really knows what truly happens when an individual is in the dying stage of their life as well as the time and the manner of our death.
Psa 68:20 God is to us a God of deliverances; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death.
Death is a major victory of the winner believer; 1Co 15:50-58.
You have something in your soul that money cannot buy, a peace that you can go through a tragedy, disaster, sickness, and still say, “I have learned to be content in whatever state I am in.”
This is the thinking of the individual that almost totally slipped away from that which was important, the plan of God.
There are some things about the wicked who prosper or people who have riches — They don’t have to be concerned about such things as where their next meal is going to come from.
They don’t have to be concerned about who’s going to pay for the insurance, for their health insurance, who’s going to pay the car payment.
They don’t have to worry about those things and the ordinary domestic and personal troubles that we would have as naturally minded individuals or people who are not rich.
They wear their own pride and their own violence as jewelry and they want everyone to see “Look what I’ve got.”
“Their hearts run riot” it refers to fact whatever their heart wants, they get, because of their riches.
Ecc 2:10 And all that my eyes desired I did not refuse them. I did not withhold my heart from any pleasure,
He was the most miserable person in the world at this time and he said, “All that my eyes desired, I did not refuse them.”
1.You can’t buy salvation and save yourself.
2. You cannot buy love.
“They speak from on high” it refers to their arrogance.
Gal 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
“What they say parades through the earth”= It’s like a parade accepted as mankind’s tremendous wisdom because of their so-called success.
They ignore God.
They deny God.
They reject God.
They attack God.
They attack others.
They recruit more wicked people like themselves and teach them to do the same things and sometimes they do better than the ones who trained them.
Matt 23:15 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel about on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.
“These are the wicked; they’re always at ease, and they have increased in wealth (Even in the cosmic system, they keep increasing.).
This man actually thinks that those who try to live Godly have nothing but misfortune and those who are living wicked everything goes right.
In his wickedness, there are times when everything is going wrong and they think they can get blessings from God by working and serving Him = C2.
“But as for me, my feet came close to stumbling; my steps had almost slipped. (Why?) I was envious or jealous and covertness of the arrogant, as I saw the prosperity of the wicked.”
If you lie and steal and cheat and get ahead, or if you lie and steal and cheat, you can get that job.
If you’re honest, you don’t get the job.
“I try to love people and level with them and along comes this conniver, this deceiver and he just lies and he gets everything. “
“Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure, and (surely in vain) I have washed my hands in innocence;”
Psa 37:7 Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
If you lie and steal and cheat and get ahead, or if you lie and steal and cheat, you can get that job.
I try to love people and level with them and along comes this conniver, this deceiver and he just lies and he gets everything.
Once he came back to the sanctuary or the place where God’s Word was taught, his eyes were opened once again to this truth.
When he was living in the ways of the world, the darkness came upon him.
When he came back to the ways of God, the light shined upon him and gave him a direction.
“Until I came into the Sanctuary of God;” that’s a good place to go when you have a problem.
Once he came back to the sanctuary or the place where God’s Word was taught, his eyes were opened once again to this truth.
When he was living in the ways of the world, the darkness came upon him.
When he came back to the ways of God, the light shined upon him and gave him a direction.
