Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9 says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: Dispensation of the Mosaic Law. The First and Second Commandment. Part 6. Doctrine of Idolatry.

The Doctrine of Idolatry. We began with Point 1. Definition.

The worship of a physical object or objects as God.
Inordinate attachment or extreme devotion to something.

Point 2 dealt with The Divine Viewpoint concerning Idolatry. The commandments of the Lord are against idolatry related to the fact that for Israel to be a client nation to God, they must reject Idolatry; Exo 19:4-6.The first commandment prohibits mental idolatry, and the second commandment prohibits overt idolatry, Exo 20:1-5; Deut 5:6-10.
Idolatry was also specifically forbidden because of the danger that lies behind the idol which is reversionism and apostasy; Exo 20:23, Deut 5:7, 6:14

Idolatry is also analogous to spiritual adultery; Jer 3:8-10; Eze 16:23-43.The scripture teaches that idolatry begins in the mind and proceeds to overt practice, Judg 2:10-13; Eze 14:7.

Point 3 Demonism and Demon possession is caused by Idolatry, Zec 10:2 and is called the devil’s communion table, 1Co 10:19-22.

Zec 10:2 For the teraphim [objects of deity] speak iniquity, And the diviners see lying visions, And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain. Therefore the people wander like sheep, They are afflicted, because there is no shepherd.

Idolatry is also related to both scar tissue of the soul and emotional revolt of the soul and because of this it produces psychotic and neurotic conditions, Jer 50:33-38.

“they are mad over fearsome idols” = refers to the fact that acceptance and resultant worship of idols and false gods or religion is one of the main reasons for national and international disasters throughout the world.

The Hebrew word mad is halal which means to act insane, to live in arrogance, to reject the plan of God so much that the believer cannot be distinguished from those who have mental breakdowns.

Dr. William Gesenius says on page 226 of his book on Hebrew word studies that this word means to be mad and to be foolish.

The Theological wordbook of the Old Testament by Harris, Archer and Waltke says in vol 1, page 219 that this word halal, translated mad, means that the believer lives in the irrational aspect of insanity.

They said that halal is the opposite of chokmah, which of course is wisdom referring to doctrine.

You don’t want to fill your soul with thoughts that are negative, critical, judgmental, bitter, or angry, if so you will become halel, (mad) etc.

Prov 23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, “Eat and drink!” But his heart is not with you.

Point 4. Idolatry also Distorts and Perverts the Divine Design of Sex.

Jer 9:14, “But they have walked after the stubbornness of their heart [the scar tissue of their hearts] and after the Baals, as their fathers taught them.

This bring us the relationship between idolatry and the Phallic Cult.

The Phallic cult came from the Phoenicians and includes immorality of all kinds, such as incest, fornication, homosexuality, bestiality, Lev 18:3-25; Demonism, Lev 20:6; Human sacrifice, Lev 20:1-5; Rejection of authority, Lev 20:9; Social degeneracy, Lev 20:10-23.

The entire religious background of the Phoenician Phallic Cult is found in what is known as the “Epic of Ugarit.”

In this Epic, God the Father is counterfeited by the god called “el.” The son is counterfeited by Baal.

Baal has a struggle once a year with mot, the god of death, and he dies (the counterfeit of the cross).

Baal also had a wife sister, Anoth, who finds his body and brings it back to life (the counterfeit of the resurrection).

She then becomes the goddess of sex, murder, warfare, and love. In Phoenician she is Ashtarti; In Latin she becomes Venus.

I gave it to show you the importance of idolatry as it relates to deception……because that is all an idol is —- a lie or a nothing manifested by something or someone to blind believers from Isa 43:21; Rev 4:11.

His goal is to lead all believers astray.

Matt 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.

Any area that you do not have sound doctrine in, is an area open to deception.

Idolatry leads to deception which leads to is demonization of the soul and personality of the believer or unbeliever living in the cosmic system.

It leads to deception where “thought transference” of demon doctrines are taught to the believer or unbeliever in the cosmic system.

Col 2:4 I keep on communicating these things in order that no one may delude you or deceive you with persuasive arguments.

1Co 3:18 “Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become foolish [realize that he is a fool] that he may become wise.

Even the woman in the garden, who was perfect and didn’t have an OSN ended up deceived by the craftiness and subtlety of Satan.

2Co 11:3 But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray [deceived] from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

Notice that it is the “mind” which is led astray first, not the body!

Deception is the invasion of the soul, especially the mind, emotion, and self consciousness of the soul. The result is the “invasion” of the human personality of the believer or unbeliever who lives in the cosmic system.

Deception is also the infiltration of satanic thought which why Satan’s thoughts are called doctrines of demons, 1Ti 4:1.

It just isn’t expressed in terms of evil, but in terms of improving this world, doing nice things for your fellow man, and supporting crusades.

Deception is the invasion of the soul with thought that is false thinking, i.e., the policy and principles by which Satan operated prior to the creation of man and afterwards as the ruler of this world.

Satan desires to promote sin and evil or to improve this world and try to make himself to be equal with God?

Here is where the alert pastor comes into the picture and reveals the spiritual and invisible purpose of “True Idolatry” which comes in by means of blinding and deceiving us from divine solutions.

For now we are deceived by looking at marriage, family, money, wealth, friends, social life, materialism, fame, fortune or power as a means of blessings and we forget the Blessor.

Psa 39:5 “Behold, Thou hast made my days as handbreadths, And my lifetime as nothing in Thy sight, Surely every man at his best is a mere breath. Selah.

Point 5. Idolatry and the influence of the Phallic Cult.

They have become apostate and have entered into either ritual reversionism, monetary reversionism, or Phallic reversionism.

Consider = to render impotent certain members of your body. It refers to the fact that believer’s take certain parts of their body and they use them either to glorify God or to fall away from God and become apostate or reversionistic.

“the members” refers to the different parts of the human body, which according to the word of God, should be offered to god and not to the cosmic system.

All believers are commanded to present their “physical body” as a sacrifice unto God, Rom 12:1.

Rom 12:1 I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

This means that a “part” of your worship toward God is the presentation of your physical body.

We are commanded to present our bodies a living sacrifice because our physical body actually “belongs” to the Lord, 1Co 6:12-20.

God, not just TLJC, but the Father and the Holy Spirit are to be glorified, not just in our soul and spirit, but also in our human body.
