Hymn #2
Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word
Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.
1 John 1:9 says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins].” NKJV (New King James Version)
If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:
John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV
Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.
John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.
The three major players in the Jewish Conspiracy: Korah, Dathan and Abiram.
Moses is the son of Levi, and the son of Kohath according to Exo 2:1-3.
In verse 1, we are giving us some insight into what is going on in the mind of Korah.
Korah is a first cousin to Moses,…and we all know how it is when you grow up with people, there is the danger of you becoming very familiar with them.
2Co 5:16 Therefore from now on we recognize no man according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.
I always felt privileged whether serving or ruling, it didn’t matter ….. I loved them both!
took – is the Qal imperfect from the verb laqach which means to take over or to gain over, actually what happened is that Korah in association with the others took over the conspiracy.
His associates were Dathan and Abiram, and a man called “On” who later on for whatever reason ended up backing out…..so there were three major players in the conspiracy.
From the tribe of Levi, Korah.
We will see what Korah had in mind in leading this conspiracy and rebellion which basically was to take over the job and the position of Moses.
That usually happens in a conspiracy —– there is usually an individual who is ultimately in charge who tells other that why should never let an individual be ultimately in charge.
From the tribe of Reuben, there was Dathan and Abiram, and “On.” And they have great power lust.
“On” withdrew very wisely —- revealing, by the way, it’s never too late to rebound and recover unless “YOU” are not willing to do so!
From the other tribes not mentioned specifically, there were 250 princes. We will see their power lust as well.
Korah again was the leader of the conspiracy and the rebellion, and the leader of the inner clique, and the leader of the outer clique of 250 princes.
If we are ever going to study and learn about the leader in the revolution we are going to have to know something about his antecedence and his goals.
Korah was concerned about approbation and power and he decided that he was a far far greater person than especially Aaron.
There are two words in this sentence which are important: Reuben and Levi Levi had the responsibility for all of the ritual.
The censer is a fire pan, it is a round plate that carries coals which has a very short handle, it’s almost like a frying pan except it is a little larger than that.
You put the coals in the fire pan and you walk pass the first veil into the holy place. Then you walk all the way to the second veil.
In front of the second veil is the altar of incense.
Anyone who tried to duplicate this was to be executed.
The aroma represented the doctrine of propitiation and the fact that God the Father is satisfied with the perfect sacrifice of TLJC.
Eph 5:2 He gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
The point is that you had to have the authority to do all of this.
Not only did you have to have the authority but you also had to know the rules.
By tomorrow morning there will be over 250 new fire pans, new censers, and you and all your company report to the front of the tabernacle.
Moses says, if you want to be the high priest and think that you can perform the function of the high priest, go ahead.
Moses has complete confidence that whatever happens, the Lord will show who has been ordained to function in the tabernacle.
The offering of incense inside this tabernacle is one of the holiest functions of the Levitical priesthood.
In our day and age, the communication of doctrine is one of the holiest functions of the priesthood.
That he has the gift of pastor-teacher 2. That he has prepared himself properly for the ministry. 3. That he communicates doctrine accurately and precisely. 4. That he refrains from criticizing and judging others. 5. That he rids himself from negativity.
In verse 8, the Lord told Moses speak to the rock.
THREE scriptures from the N.T. are pertinent here; the rock is a type of TLJC; 1Co 10:4 And thy all drank the same spiritual drink. for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.
Heb 10:10 we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE for ALMoses is the son of Levi, and the son of Kohath according to Exo 2:1-3.
