Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word
Before we begin, only if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life) John 3:16, John 6:47 as a few examples; it is very important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so the Holy Spirit can teach you as to what your reading or hearing is true or false. To be taught by the Holy Spirit you must be filled with the Holy Spirit which means abiding in Christ. To place yourself in fellowship with God the Holy Spirit [also called abiding in the Christ], take a moment to simply name, cite or acknowledge [confess] your known unconfessed sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father). Why? Because you cannot grow spiritually if you’re not abiding in Christ [in fellowship with Him] when you take in bible truth.
1 John 1:9, says: “If we confess [meaning to simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known unconfessed sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV [New King James Version]; we call this REBOUND; read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.
John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV
Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.
John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV
Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

2Co 10:3-5, For though we walk in the flesh [we live in the world] we do not war according to the flesh. For the equipment and weapons of our warfare or conflict are not of the flesh [human attributes] but divine power [Bible doctrine] for the destruction of fortresses [Satan’s flaming missiles and siegeworks from the cosmic system etc.] Destroying or assaulting speculations [these are Satan’s flaming missiles]
There is a war, and a battle, but it’s not with people and it’s not in the natural realm. The Greek word for speculations is very interesting, it is the accusative masculine plural from the noun logismos which means thoughts and reasons. Such as thoughts and reasons on why you don’t have to continue with doctrine and the PPOG [predesigned plan of God].
2Co 10:5, Destroying or assaulting speculations [Satan’s flaming missiles] and every obstacle of pride, which raises up or attacks the knowledge or doctrine of God, and taking every thought [human viewpoint system of thought] captive to the authority of Christ,
Ultimately the attacks of Satan’s flaming missiles are against Bible doctrine.
2Co 10:6, And we are ready [the Christian soldier] or on the alert to punish all disobedience [deviation from obedience], whenever your obedience is complete [spiritual maturity].
Let’s note some principles concerning fears and warfare that will give you some idea as to what we will face in the devil’s world:
1. All warfare is based on deception.
Remember that Satan has one goal in the life of every believer. His goal is to lead all believers astray. Any area that you do not have sound doctrine in, is an area open to deception which means that anything that we think or do, that is not oriented to the way God thinks, is open to deception.
Deception is demonization of the soul and personality of the believer or unbeliever living in the cosmic system. And there are degrees of deception. As a believer, it depends on how long you reside in the cosmic system without the use of recovery or rebound. Deception is thought transference of demon doctrine to the believer or unbeliever in the cosmic system. By thought transference I do not mean that you are thinking like members of the occult, but I am referring to human viewpoint or worldly thinking! All believers and unbelievers in the cosmic system are under some form of satanic deception. This is why the apostle Paul said in Col 2:4, I keep on communicating these things in order that no one may delude you with persuasive argument.
So many individuals think they are intelligent and wise, when in reality they are under extreme deception and delusion. And this type of deception is the worst kind, it is deceiving yourself, In 1Co 3:18, Paul said, let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become foolish [realize that he is a fool] that he may become wise.
Remember, even the woman in the garden, who was perfect and didn’t have an O.S.N. ended up deceived by the craftiness and subtlety of Satan. This is why in 2Co 11:3, the apostle Paul said, But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds should be led astray [deceived] from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.
Notice that it is the “mind” which is led astray, not the body! And according to the Bible, she was not just tricked and partially deceived, but in 1Ti 2:14, quite deceived.
1Ti 2:14, And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being “quite” deceived, fell into transgression. She was completely and totally deceived and she didn’t have an O.S.N. [old sin nature] like we all do.
So, deception is the invasion of the soul, especially the mind, emotion, and self consciousness of the soul. And the result is the invasion of the human personality of the believer or unbeliever who lives in the cosmic system. Deception is also the infiltration of satanic thought. It isn’t just expressed in terms of evil, but in terms of improving this world, doing nice things for your fellow man, and supporting crusades.
Therefore, deception is the invasion of the soul with thought that is false thinking, i.e., the policy and principles by which Satan operated prior to the creation of man and afterwards as the ruler of this world. Now, the unbeliever is protected from both deception and demon possession by adherence to the laws of divine establishment. However, the believer is protected from deception by Bible doctrine only! The only hope for protection against deception is doctrine resident in the soul.
Eph 4:14, We are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
2Pe 3:17, You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard lest, being carried away by the deception of unprincipled men [men with no principles], you fall from your own steadfastness, Only the truth can keep false thinking and false doctrine out of the soul. If the believer only understands the laws of divine establishment, that gives him some protection. But the greatest victims of deception are believers, which is a direct result of the genius plan of Satan to distract them from the PPOG [Predesigned Plan of God].
The cosmic system, Satan’s classroom for deception. The cosmic system is Satan’s strategy as the ruler of this world to control believers. It is his policy for the rulership of this world. Satan’s cosmic system is composed of two separate power spheres. Cosmic one emphasizes preoccupation with self, cosmic two emphasizes antagonism toward the truth. When the believer gets outside of the PPOG, he inevitably enters into cosmic one or cosmic two.
In cosmic one is the whole system of prehistoric sins, which are connected to arrogance. Cosmic one is Satan’s exploitation of believers through their own arrogance. This is his means of controlling the human race. Satan invented arrogance, for arrogance was his original sin. Cosmic one represents Satan’s attitude at the time of his prehistoric fall. [the five “I will’s”]
Cosmic one emphasizes the individual being totally independent from God and not willing to even adhere to any divine principles. And if the sins of arrogance are allowed to continue, it is inevitable that the believer in cosmic one will become an abnormal person. Once this abnormality sets in, there is a system of locked in arrogance that totally rejects truth or distorts truth by hallucination.
Cosmic two is comprised of all the historical sins. Cosmic two is Satan’s propaganda and indoctrination college to educate and promote antagonism toward anything related to God, especially the grace of God. Cosmic two represents Satan’s attitude at the time of Adam’s fall in the Garden of Eden. Cosmic two emphasizes antagonism and intolerance toward the plan, purpose, and will of God, as well as toward all Christians executing it. Cosmic two is Satan’s philosophy in human history as the ruler of this world.
In cosmic two, we become antagonistic toward bible doctrine. Cosmic two emphasizes human viewpoint living in contrast to the divine viewpoint of spiritual living. So the believer out of fellowship can commit either prehistoric or historic categories of sins. Cosmic one is rejection of doctrine because you’re preoccupied with yourself, which is an indirect rejection of doctrine. People who are preoccupied with self, seeking pleasure and approbation for self, have no time for doctrine; rather, they substitute self indulgence for learning doctrine. Cosmic two is also negative volition toward doctrine, but true rejection is due to antagonism toward doctrine.
Therefore, one enters the cosmic system through an active or a passive decision from the free will. And once inside the cosmic system, negative volition towards true doctrine creates a vacuum through which demon doctrine enters, Eph 4:17. In fact, apostasy is, in effect, the degrees of deception of the believer in the cosmic system. In1Co 2:5, the “wisdom of man” illustrates deception in the cosmic system through Greek culture and religion.
1CoO 2:5, Your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.
The quickest way to get into the cosmic system is to sin, 1Jo 3:4 10, which says in effect, when anyone commits a sin, he has become the agent of the devil. Just as the devil invented the cosmic system, so he also invented sin. But Christ destroyed the basis for Satan’s entire system when he judged sin at the Cross. However, through cosmic living instead of spiritual living, the believer all too often continues the lifestyle of spiritual death by living in Satan’s cosmic system.
In cosmic one, he grieves the Holy Spirit;
In cosmic two, he quenches the Holy Spirit.
All spiritual living occurs inside the PPOG under the omnipotence of the Holy Spirit. Living in the PPOG is called the Filling of the Spirit. Functioning in the PPOG is called walking by means of the spirit. Therefore, in 1Jo 2:15-16, we have a warning to church age believers not to superimpose the life of spiritual death on the Christian way of life.
1Jo 2:15-16, stop loving the cosmic system or anything in the cosmic system. If anyone keeps loving the cosmic system [cosmic one and two], the love for the father [personal love for God] is not in him. For all that is in the cosmic system, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the arrogant pattern of life, is not from the father but is from the cosmic system.
Loving the cosmic system means deception of your motivation, of your thought pattern, of your decision making, and of your action. The love of the father refers to virtue-love, one of the highest problem-solving device in the Christian life. The lust of the flesh is the old sin nature seeking to control the soul. The lust of the eyes is motivational evil in cosmic one. The arrogant pattern of life is the functional evil of the other forms of arrogance in cosmic two.
As the leader of all fallen angels and as the ruler of planet earth, Satan has been able to compile a cosmic system which is a mass of thoughts, opinions, speculations, systems of false doctrines, panaceas, plans, systems of all categories for deceit, policies, and objectives by which Satan seeks to control the world which he rules.
However, although Satan is the ruler of this world, he does not necessarily control the people of this world; that depends upon individual volition. Satan seeks to control both mankind and the millions of fallen angels still loose, called demons. For example, in cosmic two, Satan has provided a communion table to complement real spiritual death. The apostle Paul warned about this in 1Co 10:21, when he said, “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and at the same time the cup of demons.”
In other words, the believer who is out of fellowship, out of the PPOG, is under deception, drinking from the “cup of the demons.” You cannot partake of the table of the Lord [Eucharist] and the table of demons. The table of demons is cosmic living in Satan’s cosmic system.
In cosmic two, Satan’s false doctrine results in the human viewpoint of life, which resents Bible doctrine and any truth.
1Ti 4:1 2, But the Spirit [God the Holy Spirit] explicitly communicates that in latter periods of time some believers will fall away from doctrine, giving attention to deceitful spirits, even doctrines from demons [deception in cosmic system]. By means of hypocrisy of liars, they are seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron.
This passage teaches thought telepathy from demons. Doctrine means a system of teaching that is transferred to anyone who resides in the cosmic system. And believers believe liars because of their facade of sweet and pleasing words, and the warmth of their personality. In cosmic living, you are so preoccupied with yourself that you assume that any speaker who pleases you, stimulates you, and warms you, must be telling you the truth. And a burned out or seared conscience is a result of deception.
Deception destroys the norms and standards of truth. When a believer or unbeliever remains in the cosmic system long enough, all his norms and standards related to truth are gone, seared, and burnt.
Eph 2:2 says, In which sphere [real spiritual death] you formerly walked according to the lifestyle of the cosmic system [world].
In the sphere of real spiritual death from birth, all unbelievers reside in Satan’s cosmic system and are influenced by it to some degree, depending upon their adherence to the laws of divine establishment. The degree of influence from Satan’s cosmic system can only be negated for the unbeliever by knowing and adhering to the laws of divine establishment. But this only frees the unbeliever from some of Satan’s policies; it does not give him salvation.
Living in Satan’s cosmic system includes three categories of living:
A. Demon possession.
B. Deception.
A combination of these two, or cosmic living.
The believer cannot be demon possessed because his body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who indwells him. No demon can be in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
