Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word
Before we begin, only if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life) John 3:16, John 6:47 as a few examples; it is very important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so the Holy Spirit can teach you as to what your reading or hearing is true or false. To be taught by the Holy Spirit you must be filled with the Holy Spirit which means abiding in Christ. To place yourself in fellowship with God the Holy Spirit [also called abiding in the Christ], take a moment to simply name, cite or acknowledge [confess] your known unconfessed sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father). Why? Because you cannot grow spiritually if you’re not abiding in Christ [in fellowship with Him] when you take in bible truth.
1 John 1:9, says: “If we confess [meaning to simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known unconfessed sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND; read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. Left click the following link to learn more and fully understand the doctrine of Rebound; which answers the question, why do I need to keep confessing my sins all the time? REBOUND
If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus, The Christ alone for eternal life [salvation] and you will be saved [receive Eternal Life] the very micro second you believe in Him:
John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV
Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.
John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness [Num 21:4-9], even so must the Son of Man be lifted up [the cross], that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV
Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references;” if just hover doesn’t work, do a “control-left-click,” if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

1Co 14:40 But let all things be done properly and in an orderly manner or let all things be done in order.
This is the prophecy of the coming of the Baptism of Fire that John the Baptist was to reveal to the new church.
Is this going to be the time of the restoration of the Kingdom of Israel when God would bring in the Millenniual Kingdom for the Jews?
And therefore we have a challenge from the fantastic power of God in Ac 1:8 but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
Notice the phrase in Ac 1:8, but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth."
The word for witness is the Greek noun martures which is the plural noun for being a martures which is where we get the English noun martyr from meaning witness, ne willing to give his life for someone or something. Notice, here is where your ascension and descension and session are all about to be mentioned and supplied.

The cross is the sinner's hope, the believer's comfort, and the backslider's rebound and recovery.
The first step of descension in Christianity follows the first turn of our eye from our Lord Jesus; the Author and Finisher of faith.
As Neh 8:10b say For the joy of the Lord is your strength."
The more clear, and comprehensive, and delightful our view of the person, and offices, and work of Christ is—the more vigorously will the work of sanctification go forward.
ASCENSION, DESCENSION AND SESSION FOLLOW THE DIVINE COMMANDS THAT WE ARE TO OBSERVE AS ROYAL FAMILY OF GOD.
This means that when we say in Neh 8:10b For the joy of the Lord is your strength," we really do mean it.
This lifting up is a reference to our Lord's ascension into heaven following His resurrection and
His position at the right hand of the Father for when He arrived into Heaven He heard those magical words;
“Sit down at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
This is also quoted in Psa 110:1; it is quoted in the gospels, Mat 22:44; Mk 12:36; Luk 20:42; It is quoted in Acts 2:34-35; Heb 10:12 14.
For example, in Heb 10:12, "But He, having offered one sacrifice as a substitute for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies were made a footstool for His feet. For by one offering He has brought to completion for all time those who are sanctified."
This one quotation is a reference to the Doctrine of the Session.
The ascension is the doctrine of Christology that pertains to the transfer of our Lord's true humanity from planet earth to the third heaven in a resurrection body.
The session is the doctrine of Christology that pertains to the glorification of our Lord's humanity at the right hand of the Father (These definitions presume your understanding of the Hypostatic Union.).
For when our Lord received the title that He did, which was to sit down at right hand of God, He was in ultimate glory of everything He ever imagined.
They stood there with their eyes gazing intently looking into the sky as “two angels dressed in a white apparel” were joining them looking as an angelic hosts of armies as this beautiful sight before them.
Notice that in this passage the Lord is identified as “this same Jesus” — Jesus is the title of His humanity.
He is not coming back today and they might as well get down and start learning some of the things which are necessary so that they will know how to operate during His absence.
2Co 2:16 says the Word of God is the mind of Christ. This is our instructions during His absence.
Notice that in verse 13 – “where they abode” is in the imperfect tense which means that they probably resided there.
Also, there is a list of the people present, the eleven apostles to Israel and they are appointed apostles to the Church.
This, however, was one of the worst mistakes, they made in the early church when they thought they had the right and the power and authority to do such a thing, namely choose someone to replace Judas Iscariot.
Only God has the authority to choose who would be an;
1. Apostle
2. Prophet
3. Evangelist
4. Pastor-Teacher.
The four manifestations of the individuals God used to protect members of the human race from worshipping the wrong blessings of God and the reasons why they were not to make idols out of them are given in the following ways.
First, the Apostle is given to reveal the one in authority who let’s us all know what passage is divinely inspired as the ultimate authority of the Word of God.
Secondly, the Prophets were given to establish the ones who had a little less of the authority that the Apostle Paul had but not quite the same authority as an Apostle.
The prophets were teachers until Paul didn’t need them any longer.
And then the third ones were the Evangelists whose role was to present the Gospel to the unbeliever and the believers in such a way for all of them, believers and unbelievers to make sure all of them understood the issue of the gospel information.
Finally, there were the pastor-teachers who must operate in such a way that the pastor has authority over all the believers and equipped them all for the work of the ministry.
Pastor-teachers were identified in Eph 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as pastors and teachers.
Or in 1Th 5:12 But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction.
In 2Th 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep aloof from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us.
2Th 3:12 Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread.
In all these areas note some of the differences; such as Luk 11:28 But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and observe it."
Now, this is why it is important for us to realize that the:
1. Apostles
2. Prophets
3. Evangelist
4 Pastor-teachers
All had to be chosen by God alone and not man.
And as I mentioned, this was one of the worst mistakes that the early church made when they thought they had the right and the power and authority to do such a thing, namely choose someone to replace Judas Iscariot.
Peter is mentioned first because his leadership is obvious.
Thomas is mentioned, even though he totally failed 40 days before in the matter of the resurrection.
To each of these is given apostleship, the gift of absolute dictatorship for the next 50 years or so while the Church is being established.
Obviously someone had to take the place of Judas and the big question is who is going to be the replacement.
This is a sovereign choice of God the Holy Spirit, according to 1Co 12:11.
It is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to appoint spiritual gifts.
The twelfth one is not even saved yet (Saul, later known as Paul, and for five more years he will not be saved, but there is going to be an attempt to elect a replacement.)
In Rev 21:13 {There were} three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. (NSEW 12 Gates.
Then in Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them and upon the walls were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Rev 21:15 And the one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall.
Rev 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
Then in Rev 22:1 And he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
Rev 22:2 in the middle of its street. And on either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve {kinds of} fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Now, notice a few important principles. in Acts 11:14, “These all continued with one accord.”
There were 120 of them and they were well equipped to spend the next ten days.
For forty days the eleven disciples and the others are gathered together in the upper room and they are in harmony with one another, which indicates that they stated out in fellowship.
According to John 20:22 they were given the Holy Spirit, so they are controlled by the Holy Spirit.
Yet in spite of that of that they got involved in a fantastic decision because it doesn’t depend upon the filling of the Spirit or their walk with the Lord, it depends upon their knowledge of doctrine.
So, there is an area of sin into which people fall through ignorance of Bible doctrine but they can recover if they choose to.
In Verse 16 – Peter’s speech was based on scripture but when we start praying for the will of God and are ignorant of doctrine we are going to wind up out of the will of God.
And there is no substitute for knowledge of Bible doctrine because the will of God is declared through the Word of God.
Always among born again believers there are a certain number of unbelievers numbered with them, identified as Christians though many times they are not Christians because they have not accepted Christ as Saviour.
Now, in verse 17, Peter is assuming that certain individuals were a part of this ministry” – and Peter identifies Judas to be one of those twelve.
But, in reality no one knows who is saved and who is not.
Therefore, notice Acts 1:18 (Now this man (Peter assumes this is Judas Iscariot), acquired a field with the price of his wickedness; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.
Psa 19 was the passage that I quoted which said to keep your servant back from the great transgressssion of presumptuousness sins.
Because in Ac 1:20 "For it is written in the book of Psalms, 'Let his homestead be made desolate, And let no man dwell in it'; and, 'His office let another man take.'
For in Ac 1:21 "It is therefore necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us
This is what happened to the money that was used for the betrayal. Judas became conscience stricken. Then he tells us how Judas died.
There are two accounts: one that he hung himself and the other that the rope broke.
Apparently it was some time before it was known that Judas had hung himself and the rope rotted, he had been hanging so long that he simply broke physically on the tree.
This was one man who was never taken down, he had no friends, no loved ones, no one who cared, he had the respect of no one……that’s how the lonely man died.
