Hymn #1

Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: Those who betray us are usually those who are closest to us.

John 13 = our Lord just broke bread with the disciples and He knew that one of His own students, Judas Iscariot, was going to betray Him and he was planning the betrayal.

">

John 13, Judas has just been told privately to go and do what he was planning to do which is to turn on and betray our Lord to the scribes and the Pharisees.

Judas Iscariot, Benedict Arnold, probably very one of us, if we are normal and honest would have to admit that we have had our share of traitors and betrayers in a smaller way.

The sad thing is the hurtful thing which is the fact that those who do their best to betray us astraitors are usually those who are closest to us.

Cain was jealous of Abel and planned the first murder in human history by doing the same thing that they both did when they slit the throat of the animal sacrifices with a knife until they bled to death.

Heb 11:4b That testimony was about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.

The sad thing and the hurtful thing is the fact that those who do their best to betray us as traitors are usually those who are closest to us.

We had two brothers, one spiritual, the other natural, Cain and Abel who was murdered by his brother.

Lot’s wife manipulated Lot to try and conspire against his elder uncle Abraham.

Moses had to deal with Korah, Datham and Abiram.

Moses also had to deal with his sister Miriam.

The fundamental mistake of Miriam was one of disrespect for, and rebellion against Moses’ lawfully constituted authority which was appointed by God Himself.

She was punished by God and later forgiven by God when she repented of her sin; Num 12:10-15.

Moses commanded them not to multiply wives to themselves nor to marry any woman who is not Jewish.

The Ethiopian woman literally means a “Cushite woman;” Gen 10:6.

Moses wife was named Zipporah and she had very beautiful dark skin and was also very beautiful physically.

The fundamental mistake of Miriam was one of disrespect for, and rebellion against Moses’ lawfully constituted authority which was appointed by God Himself.

For that she was punished by God (Num 12:10) and later forgiven by God when she repented of her sin and failures; Num 12:15.

Samson had to deal with Delilah; David had Absalom.

The Father at Corinth had to deal with the unfaithful son.

Jesus had Judas The Lord had Satan (Heylel)

Do not get weary and think you’re a sucker because you treated someone with character and integrity, and they took advantage of your gracious heart.

Fool me Once;

Shame on You;

Fool me Twice;

Shame on Me.

They purposely give you bad advice, so you don’t succeed or surpass them in something or anything.

When they are around others they act like they don’t know you.

When you make a mistake they always gloat.

1Co 11:18 For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and in part, I believe it.

1Co 11:19 For there must also be factions among you, in order that those who are approved may have become evident among you.

They never build you up and make you a better person but are always bringing you down to try and make you look worse than them.

John 13:10, after our Lord taught His disciples the principle of washing the entire physical body representing salvation, He also taught verses like washing the feet continually because it represents rebound.

How did our Lord know this?

Did He know it because he used His deity?

“How did He know that He would be betrayed, and He also knew who the betrayer was?

I believe our Lord knew these things because he studied the Scriptures in the Torah, the Old Testament; Luk 2:40.

He knew the prophecy of His hands and feet being pierced; Psa 22:16.

his was fulfilled throughout the Gospels when they nailed His hands and feet to the cross, Matt 27:31; Mark 15:24.

Our Lord also knew that He was going to suffer physically but miraculously not one of His bones would be broken; Psa 34:20.

Psa 34:20 “He keeps all His bones; not one of them is broken.” Fulfilled in John 19:34-36.

Our Lord knew Psa 41:9 “Even My close friend, in whom I trusted, who ate My bread, has lifted up his heel against Me.” Fulfilled in Luke 22:47-48.

There is the prophecy that they would offer The Lord Jesus Christ gall and vinegar; Psa 69:21.

Psa 69:21 “They also gave Me gall for My food, and for My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink.” Fulfilled in Matt 27:34.

There is the prophecy of the physical abuse and humiliation of Jesus; Isa 50:6.

Fulfilled in Matt 26:67 “Then they spat in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him.”

“Others, Lord, yes others Let this my motto be Help me to live for others That I may live like Thee.”

My point is that our Lord had to learn the Word of God just as we have to learn it and He also knew the prophecy that He would come to die for our sins in order to save us; Isa 53:5.

This was fulfilled throughout the entire New Testament, as in Rom 5:6-8.

Rom 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Our Lord also learned about the prophecy that He would be silent as He approached the cross; Isa 53:7.

This was fulfilled in Mark 15:4 “And Pilate was questioning Him again, saying, “do You make no answer? See how many charges they bring against You!”

There is the prophecy of His crucifixion; Isa 53:12.

This was fulfilled in Luke 23:33-34.

Luk 23:33 “And when they came to the place called the skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.”

Luk 23:34 “But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.”

There is the prophecy of the piercing of Jesus’s side. Zec 12:10.

Part of this verse which says they will look on Me whom they have pierced was fulfilled in John 19:34 “But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water.”

The second part of this prophecy is that they (especially the Jews) will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the bitter weeping over a first born = fulfilled in Rev 1:7.

Rev 1:7 “Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him.”

Our Lord also knew that there is the prophecy of the nailing of His hands and feet; Zec 13:6.

This was fulfilled in John 20:27 “Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand, and put it into My side; and be not unbelieving, but believing.”

King David knew what it was like to be betrayed by family, friends, or fiends.

This Psalm was a Psalm or song of betrayal.

We know him, the betrayer Judas Iscariot, because of him betraying our Lord which was so evil for him to do especially after the Lord had done so much for him.

Little did Judas realize that Judas Iscariot was actually planning and scheming his way toward the top of the religious apostates of his day.

1. They were uses of people.

2. They were lusters after money.

3. They were turning on our Lord, who was someone who had tried to help them in every way possible.

But, as usual, they turned on our Lord and followed the lies of the cosmic system and while they were doing that, they let the Carnal Corinthian Christians walk all over them.

You really have never been hurt until you have been hurt, or wounded, or lied to, or stolen from BY…..another CCC – Cosmic Carnal Christian.

Or, they may appear to be loving and sweet and nice but inside they are ravenous wolves.

They are carnal cannibals who eat each other — through gossip, slander, maligning, judging, hating, etc.

In Matt 23:3, they tell you what to do and observe, but they do not do according to their deeds; for they say things, and do not do them.

Matt 23:4, They tie up heavy loads, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves are unwilling to move them with {so much as} a finger.

In Matt 23:5, they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries, and lengthen the tassels of their garments.

In Matt 23:6, They love the place of honor at banquets, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

In Matt 23:7, they demand respectful greetings to them in the market places, and lobe being called by title such as Rabbi!

In Matt 23:13, The Lord said that they were hypocrites and they shut off the kingdom of heaven from men; and do not enter in themselves.

In Matt 23:14, the Lord says that they devour widows’ houses and pray and pretend to make long prayers because God is pleased with them…..so they think!

In Matt 23:15, they are hypocrites who travel thousands of miles by sea to make one proselyte or one individual to be just like them and when they become like them, they make the new convert twice as much a son of hell as themselves.

In Matt 23:25, they are Pharisees and hypocrites who clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self indulgence.

In Matt 23:27, these hypocrites are said to be like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.

In Matt 23:28, they outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly they are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

They smile in your face;

All the time they want to take your place;

The back stabbers.

Because Smiling Faces sometimes pretend to be your friend.

They seem to be loving, when in reality the only love they have is truly love for themselves.

As Paul said in 2Ti 3:1-2b But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant,

We begin in John 15:1, when our Lord and His disciples were learning together the doctrine of the Vine and the Branches as they were all walking together to the Garden of Gethsemane.

The vinedresser metaphor refers to God the Father as the author the PPOG.

The vine metaphor refers to the humanity of Jesus Christ during the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union.

Fruit through the branch is a metaphor for the Church-age believer bearing the fruit of the Spirit in the midst of the devil’s playground in the cosmic system.

No fruit or production can be any better than the vine which produces it.

Because of positional sanctification plus the grace provision of the three spiritual skills, it is possible for the believer to manufacture productive righteousness.

Positional Sanctification = reveals the positional truth of the believers in the Church-age.

The grace provision of the three spiritual skills – reveals the Word, the power, and the plan.

Productive righteousness — reveals the good works that believers can produce through the righteousness of God and the filling of the Spirit.

We also need to have the humility to perceive, metabolize and apply those doctrines.

The vine metaphor emphasizes the fact that all precedence and all productive righteousness in the Church-age comes from the vine – our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 15:2 “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.”

Now, in John 15:2 “Every branch [believer] in Me”

“in Me” is a reference to the believer in union with Christ.
