Prepare yourself for learning the Word of God!

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge (confess) your known unconfessed sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father).

1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (known sins) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [unknown or forgotten sins] ." NKJV (New King James Version) [italics added]; we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.

John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV [italics added]

Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

Study to show yourself approved to God!

The Tree of Life is a weekly teaching summary: God’s Word is taught Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday

STUDY TITLE:

Emotions cannot see, hear or think; only truth can set us free.

1Pe 3:15 which dogmatically teaches us that one of the most important doctrines that a believer must learn and apply. This is a subject that basically deals with all believers who must perceive and apply the appropriate doctrine to the details of life.

Believe it or not, the main reason that I would like to bring out this evening has to do with being prepared in time with the result that you can also be prepared in eternity.

Under the principle of equal privilege and equal opportunity, every believer has been given an inheritance which was created perfectly just for them personally; Eph 1:3-4; 1Pe 1:3-5.

Eph 1:3-4, ….He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly {places} in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,

1Pe 1:4-5, we are to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven just for you (and me), who are protected by the power of GOD through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Let’s continue with the believers fulfilling the calling of GOD upon their life. My hope is that those of us who have been faithful students of the Word of GOD throughout the years finally realize the seriousness of the disobedience that is before them. Be careful of the emotions of the soul because they have been created by our LORD Jesus Christ to respond to GOD the Father and to be thankful for His plan.

When your emotions are in charge, there is always the danger of making decisions based upon “how” one feels rather than “what one knows.” Be careful of the emotions of the soul making decisions because the old sin nature will seek for dominance of the flesh rather than fellowship with the Spirit. Here in Gal 5, the Apostle Paul writes to the believers in Galatia concerning this battle going on within every single one of us, as GOD’s children.

Let’s note the passage first;

Gal 5:13-18, For you were called to freedom, brethren; only {do} not {turn} your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the {statement}, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. But if you bite and devour one another, take care lest you be consumed by one another.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

The churches of Galatia were known for a particular game in the ancient world that was called or known as a “Debater’s Technique” which was a popular game in the ancient world. In fact, you would bet a certain wager on who could win a debate or an argument.

Now, it’s interesting, that the Galatians were known as a Celtic people who were part Irish and loved to argue; Gal 5:13-18.

Gal 5:13-18, For you were called to freedom, brethren; only {do} not {turn} your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the {statement}, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Never make an important decision in life that you cannot see. Emotions cannot see; Emotions cannot hear; Emotions cannot function, especially; only truth can set us free.

Now, this principle concerning the emotions is really a doctrine that causes many, both believers and unbelievers, to realize their place and their responsibilities both in the natural realm and the spiritual realm.

When the emotions start to overpower us, it may be something so simple that the wisdom of man is even fooled because man thinks he knows something when he really knows NOTHING!

When the emotions start to overpower us, it may be something so simple that the wisdom of man is even fooled because man thinks he knows something when he really knows NOTHING!

Under Divine Inspiration, and using the principle of I.C.E., we are able to come to the wisdom bestowed upon us by our Mentor, GOD the Holy Spirit.

Remember that in Phil 3:1, the apostle Paul writes to us and says the following; “to be writing the same doctrines to you is not troublesome to me, while on the other hand, it is a safeguard or a basis of security for you.”

Now, like a lot of the passages in the Bible, there’s usually a pro and a con, something for, or something against – it all depends upon the means of interpretation, especially what most of you have and know about the acronym I.C.E..

Top of Form

Bible doctrine must be taught based on three principles:

1. Isagogics – refers to the historical setting behind the passage.

2. Categories – systematic theology developed from comparing Scripture with Scripture.

3. Exegesis – is the grammatical and syntactical analysis of the passage from the original languages.

Thinking you have something, when in reality you have nothing, is a manifestation of arrogance especially, the type of arrogance that the apostle John warns us about in the lukewarm passage on the Laodicean church. This same attitude that says “I am in need of NOTHING” is the very same attitude that the Bible says will be prevalent in the last generation, just before the Rapture. And, you can mark it down, and get prepared for the Lukewarm Churches and the Lukewarm believers, and lukewarm Pastors, all of which live for themselves in these last days.

Let’s look at the passage on the Lukewarm Churches or the lukewarm believers before our LORD vomits them all out of His mouth. If you don’t believe me – then believe the apostle John who also wrote the book of Revelation and he also warns the believers in Laodicea who had become “lukewarm.”

However, I want you to note a principle that we are about to study which has to do with the policy of our GOD and that is the fact that before judgment, Grace is always given. Now, here’s where it really gets interesting for any believer whose desire is to worship Jehovah, Jehovah the Father, Jehovah the Son, the LORD Jesus Christ, and Jehovah the Holy Spirit.

This is according to what the Word of GOD has to say because there are some passages especially in the book of Isaiah where all three Jehovah’s are mentioned together. In fact, this is a great passage from the OT where Jehovah issued for all the members of the Trinity as brought out in Isa 48:16 “Come near to Me; listen to this. From the first, I have not spoken in secret. From the time it took place, I was there. And now the LORD GOD [GOD the Father] has sent Me [GOD the Son], and His Spirit [GOD the Holy Spirit].”

The word “trinity” is not found in the Bible. It is a technical theological word coined in the fourth century A.D. to describe a theological concept. Distinctions are made between the members of the Trinity, as described in 2Co 13:14, The grace of the LORD Jesus Christ, and the love of GOD, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. The doctrine of the trinity was confirmed by the Council of Nicea in A.D. 325.

Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: When you’re in fellowship with the LORD, HE gives you the capacity to enjoy riches and wealth you recieve from your labor.

There were “Many other signs” that Jesus performed, not that are not written in this book, but many other signs that Jesus performed “in the presence of His disciples” that are not written in this book.

Which means that there were even more signs that our Lord performed not in the presence of His disciples but many other signs that our Lord performed that the disciples did not even see.

In Matt 4:23, Our Lord was healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.

In Matt 4:24, they brought to Him all who were ill, taken with various diseases and pains, demoniacs, epileptics, paralytics; and He healed them.

Matt 8:16 And when evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill.

In Matt 9:35, Jesus was going about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

Matt 12:22 Then there was brought to Him a demon possessed man {who was} blind and dumb, and He healed him, so that the dumb man spoke and saw.

Mark 1:34 And He healed many who were ill with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.

In Luk 4:40 And while the sun was setting, all who had any sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and laying His hands on every one of them, He was healing them.

In Luk 6:19 And all the multitude were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing {them} all.

Our Lord’s accomplishments when He was here and when He was known for healing the sick, opening the eyes of the blind, as well as opening the ears of all those who were deaf, and then He also taught doctrine as it was never taught before; etc.

As the Roman officers said John 7:46 “Never did a man speak the way this man speaks.”

Was it the healing of those who were sick?

Was it opening up the eyes of the blind?

Was it about opening the ears of all those who were deaf?

Matt 7:28-29, The result was that when Jesus had finished these words, the multitudes were amazed at His teaching; for He was teaching them as {one} having authority, and not as their scribes.

King David put it like this in Psa 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which Thou hast done, And Thy thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with Thee; If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.

This was going to be one of our Lord’s last messages to His disciples concerning some of the new important principles that they need to learn and apply.

(1) One of those principles refer to a doctrine that is overlooked by many where we learn that: God saves the best for last.

(2) Another principle is that if something is from the Lord, He will also give you the capacity to enjoy what it is so that you have as well as the changes in your life that God has given to you and that is the life of God in the souls of man.

Look at what Solomon said about the capacity and the enjoyment God’s people should have as an experience because of Him; Ecc 2:24-25

.

In His Sovereignty, He wills for all of us to have His Highest and best!

God is also omniscient, He has knowledge of every single individual and He knows what would make them happy and content and knowing all things, He has provided some of those things just for you.

God is also omnipotent and being all powerful He has provided everything we would ever need both in time and in eternity to handle any adversity and prosperity that would ever come our way.

>Ultimately, because of our union with Christ, and because God said He was pleased with His Son, then God is pleased with all of us, especially as it is revealed in the Doctrine of Positional Truth.

Add all of these doctrinal principles up as well as others and even more and then add to that the fact that God is love, then you have the power and the ability to live in the abundant life.

One of the most overlooked gifts that the Lord gives is the gift of enjoyment in life, it is a gift from God.

1. Right Mate; Ecc 9:9; 1Co 7:17

2. Fine wine – Good food; Ecc 10:19

3. Labor; Jer 31:5

4. Success; Dan 6:28

5. Doctrine, Mark 12:37.

6. Prosperity; Acts 9:31.

7. Fellowship; Rom 15:24.

8. Wealth and riches, 1Ti 6:17.

Another gracious gift — When you’re in fellowship with God, God empowers you or gives you the capacity to enjoy any riches and wealth that if you have received from your labor.

Enjoy the wealth, the riches, the prosperity, the blessings and the money that God has graciously bestowed upon you.

There are three gifts here;

Enjoyment in your life,

Capacity for your wealth,

Contentment in your heart.

(1) The first principle referred to a doctrine that is overlooked by many where we learned that: God saves the best for last.

(2) The second principle is that if something is from the Lord, He will also give you the capacity to enjoy what it is so that you have as well as the changes in your life that God has given to you and that is the life of God in the souls of man.

(3) Then there is another principle that is normally true for every one of us because God usually saves the best for the last because that is His will for those who truly love Him.

1Co 2:9 states “All things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Let us get ready as it were for His blessings, His love, His wisdom and as we have noticed, His plans for the glorification of our Lord as He is awaiting for all of us to follow Him so that He could bless them for doing so.

Our Lord just broke bread with the disciples and He knew that one of His own students, Judas Iscariot, was going to betray Him and he was planning the betrayal.

John 13, the night before His death, Judas has just been told privately to go and do what he was planning to do which is to turn on and betray our Lord to the scribes and the Pharisees.

John 13:10, after our Lord taught His disciples the principle of washing the entire physical body representing salvation He also taught verses like washing the feet only because it represents rebound.

This Psalm was a Psalm or song of betrayal.

Little did Judas realize that Judas Iscariot was actually planning and scheming his way toward the top of the religious apostates of his day.

1. They were uses of people.

2. They were lusters after money.

3. They were turning on our Lord, who was someone who had tried to help them in every way possible.

As usual, they turned on our Lord and followed the lies of the cosmic system and while they were doing that, they let the Carnal Corinthian Christians walk all over them.

You really have never been hurt until you have been hurt, or wounded, or lied to, or stolen from BY…..another CCC – Cosmic Carnal Christian.

They may appear to be loving and sweet and nice but inside they are ravenous wolves.

Matt 23:3, they tell you what to do and observe, but they do not do according to their deeds; for they say things, and do not do them.

Matt 23:4, They tie up heavy loads, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves are unwilling to move them with {so much as} a finger.

In Matt 23:5, they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries, and lengthen the tassels of their garments.

In Matt 23:6, They love the place of honor at banquets, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

In Matt 23:7, they demand respectful greetings to them in the market places, and lobe being called by title such as Rabbi!

In Matt 23:13, The Lord said that they were hypocrites and they shut off the kingdom of heaven from men; and do not enter in themselves.

In Matt 23:14, the Lord says that they devour widows’ houses and pray and pretend to make long prayers because God is pleased with them…..so they think!

In Matt 23:15, they are hypocrites who travel thousands of miles by sea to make one proselyte or one individual to be just like them and when they become like them, they make the new convert twice as much a son of hell as themselves.

In Matt 23:25, they are Pharisees and hypocrites who clean the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of robbery and self indulgence.

In Matt 23:27, these hypocrites are said to be like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.

In Matt 23:28, they outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly they are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

They seem to be loving, when in reality the only love they have is truly love for themselves.

2Ti 3:1-2b But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant,

John 15:1, when our Lord and His disciples were learning together the doctrine of the Vine and the Branches as they were all walking together to the Garden of Gethsemane.

The vinedresser metaphor refers to God the Father as the author the PPOG [predesigned plan of God].

The vine metaphor refers to the humanity of Jesus Christ during the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union.

Fruit through the branch is a metaphor for the Church-age believer bearing the fruit of the Spirit in the midst of the devil’s playground in the cosmic system.

No fruit or production can be any better than the vine which produces it.

Because of positional sanctification plus the grace provision of the three spiritual skills, it is possible for the believer to manufacture productive righteousness.

Positional Sanctification = reveals the positional truth of the believers in the Church-age.

The grace provision of the three spiritual skills – reveals the Word, the power, and the plan.

Productive righteousness — reveals the good works that believers can produce through the righteousness of God and the filling of the Spirit.

Although these are three vital doctrines, we also need to have the humility to perceive, metabolize and apply those doctrines.

The vine metaphor emphasizes the fact that all precedence and all productive righteousness in the Church-age comes from the vine – our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 15:2, let’s just read the passage first; “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.”

John 15:2 “Every branch [believer] in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away [that is He disciplines]; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes [suffering for blessing], that it may bear more fruit.”

John 15:2 “Every branch [believer] in Me” “in Me” is a reference to the believer in union with Christ.

The disciples are being taught the doctrine of the Baptism of the Spirit just as we all have been taught that we are also the branches in union with the vine, Jesus Christ.

1. Dead branches representing dead works, or production skills minus spiritual skills;

2. Live branches representing productive righteousness, or spiritual skills as the basis for production skills.

The branch in Christ that does not bear fruit refers to the believer who does not reveal productive righteousness.

Dead works is not fruit-bearing and is punishable.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate,

I am the captain of my soul.

The point of doctrine is that God the Father removes and takes away all dead wood, dead branches, branches which produce dead works.

God the Father takes away or removes the dead works through punitive suffering in two categories: the law of volitional responsibility which produces a tremendous amount of self-induced misery; and divine discipline.

has a true analogy, “Every healthy tree produces good fruit. And every diseased tree produces worthless [degenerate, or evil] fruit.

A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

Pruning is necessary to redistribute where the energy for production should go.

The branch that does bear fruit has to be pruned occasionally so that the spiritual skills will increase and maximize.

John 15:3-4 are the cleansing of the branches for production.

First, in verse three is salvation cleansing of the branches.

When our Lord says that “You are already clean [saved], He puts the verb este in a present-active-indicative form which should be translated “You are clean in a dogmatic way, Ain’t no doubt about it.’

Verse four refers to post-salvation cleansing of the branches, which is the rebound technique.

John 15:4 “Abide in Me [stay in fellowship], and I in you [command for knowing and learning Bible doctrine]. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit from itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”

The fact that “abide” is a command means that it is an experience after salvation and not a reference to positional sanctification or believers keeping themselves cleansed through rebound.

Prin: We are never commanded to be in union with Christ because we always are in union with Christ, especially the day we realized and became that.

John 15:4 “Abide in Me [stay in fellowship], and I in you [command for knowing and learning Bible doctrine]. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit from itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”

This is a command to remain in fellowship with God through the use of 1Jo 1:9, and the principle of productive righteousness which will result.

The believer can only produce perfect righteousness when filled with God the Holy Spirit.

So that in John 15:2 when our Lord says, “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit,” He takes away.

In John 15:4, when our Lord taught the principle of abiding, He said “Abide in Me, and I in you” which is a reference to positional sanctification.

On the other hand, the branch commanded to abide in Christ is the believer commanded to experiential sanctification through the filling of the Holy Spirit.

This was a magnificent expression of the indwelling of Christ when He Said to His disciples in John 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I (will abide) in you. — this is the command for the believer to learn and metabolize Bible doctrine.

The vine, TLJC [The Lord Jesus Christ], has provided for us the precedent, the pattern, and the information necessary to produce divine righteousness.

We cannot produce fruit apart from the function of spiritual skills: the filling of the Spirit; perception, metabolization, and application of doctrine; and execution of the PPOG [predesigned plan of God].

STUDY TITLE:

Implacability

I want to focus on implacability. Many believers today lack gratitude inwardly or thankfulness overtly, and, in many cases, they lack both. One of the many words that I like to use that are not directly quoted from the original language of the Bible, including the Hebrew, nor the Aramaic, nor the Koine (Common) Greek has a word like the English word implacability. I like to use this English word because it truly does get the point across to my congregation, students, listeners or viewers. And what point is that?

It is the point that comes from the Latin word — implacabilis; meaning implacable, impossible to appease, impossible to satisfy, no matter what you think, say, or do, it means to be stubborn-minded, or to be in a constant state of friction. In fact, David warned his playboy son Solomon to be careful of those individuals who, no matter what you say or do, they have no desire to forgive you whatsoever. It doesn’t matter how many times you have asked them for forgiveness, they are filled with anger, wrath, bitterness, jealousy, but most of all, their one desire is to hurt you many, many, times.

In fact, these are the type of individuals that David describes in Proverbs 6 to Solomon, his son. And, believe or not, I am going to describe implacability for you directly from a passage in the Word of God.

Normally, when we go to Prov 6, we begin with Prov 6:16 which says that There are six things which the Lord hates, and the seventh thing is in Prov 6:19, A false witness {who} utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

I have always been intrigued or fascinated by the seventh thing mentioned in verse 19 which is that the Lord hates the sins of the tongue and the spreading of strife and lies. Throughout the word of God, the number 7 refers to a seeker of the truth, and therefore the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross because He said Tetelestai meaning that His work on the Cross is finished.

John 17:4, “I glorified Thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which Thou hast given Me to do.”

John 19:30, When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.

Now, look at one more passage that uses water as a teaching aid; Isa 12:1-6, Then you will say on that day, “I will give thanks to Thee, O Lord; For although Thou wast angry with me, Thine anger is turned away, And Thou dost comfort me.

Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the Lord God is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation. Therefore, you will joyously draw water From the springs of salvation.

And in that day you will say, “Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted.

Praise the Lord in song, for He has done excellent things; Let this be known throughout the earth. Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”

As our Lord was starting to give some very important warnings to the disciples concerning HOW they listen. in Luk 8:18, “Therefore take care or be careful how you listen;”

Notice the words, “Take Care” for example, in Mark 4:24 to WHAT you listen to; “Take care what you listen to. By your standard of measure it shall be measured to you; and more shall be given you besides.”

What about the appearance? Shouldn’t all believers wear their best clothes to church and then brag about how great they are?

John 7:24, “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

What about presuming against others?

Psa 19:13, Keep back Thy servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.

We are also told that when it comes to “passing judgment” that in 1Co 4:5, Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.

Then, of course, Matt 7:1-5, is our final passage especially when it says such things like “Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”

Finally, remember what our Lord said in the OT to the prophet Isaiah; Isa 11:3, And He will delight in the fear of the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;

Now, how about if I show you something that should get you excited because it tells us some very important doctrinal truths about our future state – which, of course, is heaven as we know so little about. And, that my friend is how most believers go through life with fear, anger, envy, jealousy, hatred, but most of all, “revenge motivation” and they have no desire for reconciliation. It other words, it’s impossible to satisfy some people when no matter what you say or do, they find fault.

However, remember, Jud 1:16, These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their {own} lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of {gaining an} advantage.

Especially when it comes to certain types of sins like mental attitude sins, and lack of appreciation. And there’s a statement that all of us should be aware of and guard our hearts against – and that statement is a warning to the arrogant believer who is never content and always envying or lurking after that which others have.

No Contentment = No Humility!

Now, let’s begin with my main passage which reveals one of the saddest responses to the grace of God.

First of all, let’s read the passage, Luk 17:7-19, “But which of you, having a slave plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down to eat’? “But will he not say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat, and properly clothe yourself and serve me until I have eaten and drunk; and afterward you will eat and drink’?

“He does not thank the slave because he did the things which were commanded, does he? So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.”

And it came about while He was on the way to Jerusalem, that He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. And as He entered a certain village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

And when He saw them, He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And it came about that as they were going, they were cleansed. Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine where are they? Was no one found who turned back to give glory to God, except this foreigner? And He said to him, “Rise, and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

So, our Lord entered into a certain village of Lepers who had heard that Jesus, the miracle man was coming to town. Also, scores and scores of people who had leprosy met him including the Ten Lepers who were reminded of their disease every time they looked into the reflection of themselves in the water.

As many of you know, the word “water” is used in the Bible for the “water of the Word; Eph 5:26, Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,

Isa 55:1, “Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.”

Here is an amazing miracle that is not magic or trickery but the simultaneous instant healing of ten men with leprosy. Healing just one would have glorified the Lord, but our Lord healed ten at once and interestingly enough under the doctrine of numerology ten represents the number of Divine Perfection. For example: Ten represents the number of Divine Perfection: There are 10 commandments (Exo 20)

There were 10 plagues on Egypt (Exo 9:14)

There are 10 “I AM”’s spoken by Jesus in John.

1. I am the Bread of Life

2. I am He.

3. I am from above.

4. I am the Light of the world.

5. I am One that bears witness of Myself

6. I am the Door of the sheep.

7. I am the Good Shepherd.

8. I am the Resurrection and the Life.

9. I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

10. I am the True Vine.

Now, there was absolutely no way that anyone could ever deny how compassionate and sympathetic our Lord was toward those who suffered, especially when it came to lepers.

The miracles Jesus did were not for self-exaltation or for money but because of mercy on people who suffered. Now, believe or not, it is a tribute to modern medicine that most of us know very little about the disease called leprosy.

Why?

Most of us have never seen a leper. We only know what we read in the Bible. If we had lived in those days, we would have known a great deal more. In Bible times, like cancer today, it was the most feared disease in the world. It was deadly, incurable and hopeless. So much so did the ancients fear it that anyone suspected of having the disease was banished from society.

Sermon: “You did not choose Me, but I chose you,” says the LORD. Election and the Calling of God.

Isa 55:8, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.

If there was a way to measure God’s power, what would be more difficult for God to do, to raise someone from the dead or to heal a marriage?

The raising of the dead was much greater than healing a marriage, when, in reality, it is just the opposite.

One of our Lord’s greatest accomplishments was training the 12 disciples the night before His death.

We need to get acquainted with some of the vocabulary that our Lord uses to describe the Vine and the branches and the relationship that we all have with the Vine as well as with the other branches {believers}.

True Vine = the Doctrine of the Deity of our Lord and the Doctrine of the Hypostatic-union.

Vinedresser – refers to the Doctrine of logistical Grace.

“every branch in Me” = every believer in Christ which took place through the Baptism of the Spirit.

that does not bear fruit = Gal 5:22, the fruit of the Spirit He takes away = Doctrine of Divine Discipline;

every branch that bears fruit = The doctrine of the Fruit of the Spirit; Gal 5:22.

He prunes it = suffering for blessing, that it may bear more fruit [the Doctrine of Divine Good].

abide in Me = the Doctrine of Fellowship with the Lord. I in you = Doctrine of the indwelling of our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 14:20, “In that day you shall know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.”

I in My Father = His equality with God.

You in Me = fellowshipping with Him. I in you = indwelling of the Lord.

The branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine = the Doctrine of the Filling of the Holy Spirit.

The Filling of the Spirit is needed for every believer to live the spiritual life or else everything that you do will be evaluated at the Judgment Seat and will be classified as ashes or wood, hay and straw; 1Co 3:11-15.

Isa 64:6, For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Speaking of those who try to impress the Lord by producing good works, Isaiah says in Isa 44:20 He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside. And he cannot deliver himself, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

Two Basic Judgments for the Human race; The “bema seat” judgment for all believers. The Great White Throne Judgment for all unbelievers.

Gal 2:20, I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither {can} you, unless you abide in Me [The doctrine of Positional Truth].

I am the vine = John 14:6, The Lord is the way, the truth and the life.

“you are the branches” = Union with Christ

he who abides in Me = Fellowshipping with the Lord, and I in him [Indwelling of TLJC=the Lord Jesus Christ],

he bears much fruit [the production of Gal 5:22-23]. For apart from Me you can do nothing [the Doctrine of human good verses divine good].

John 15:6, “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up” = the Doctrine of Divine Discipline.

and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. [as wood, hay, and straw; 1Co 3:11-15].

ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you [the doctrine of Prayer].

John 15:8, By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and {so} prove to be My disciples. [This is the fruit bearing of Gal 5:22-23].

John 15:9, Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love [The Doctrine of Impersonal Unconditional Love.]

just as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love. = The fulfillment of the PPOG and the PSD of the believer].

John 15:11, These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and {that} your joy may be made full = [The doctrine of Happiness or Contentment].

John 15:12, This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. [The whole realm of the Doctrine of Impersonal Unconditional Love.

What is the Doctrine of Impersonal Unconditional Love?

It is the virtuous power and the ability to love God because of who and what He is.

It is the virtuous power and the ability to love yourself because of who and what our Lord created you to be by means of His grace.

It is also the virtuous power and the ability to love the brethren especially when we honor the Royal Family Honor Code toward each other.

It is the power and the ability we have to love all members of the Human race as God did.

Impersonal love for all mankind is the power and the ability to love our enemies with a sincere love.

John 15:14, You are My friends, if you do what I command you [fulfillment of the PPOG and your personal sense of destiny].

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you” = the doctrine of election. “and appointed you” = The doctrine of the calling of God.

that you should go and bear fruit – again a reference to Gal 5:22. “and that your fruit should remain” = The production of divine good which lasts forever.

“that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you” = The Doctrine of Prayer.

John 15:17, “This I command you, that you love one another”.

Miracles cannot accomplish what only God and His people can as they work together.

The Doctrine of the Deity of our Lord; The Doctrine of the Hypostatic-union; The Doctrine of Logistical Grace;

The Doctrine of The Baptism of the Spirit; The Doctrine of Divine Discipline; The Doctrine of the Fruit of the Spirit;

The Doctrine of the Filling of the Spirit; The Doctrine of Suffering for Blessing; The Doctrine of Divine Good;

The Doctrine of Salvation; The Doctrine of Fellowship. The Doctrine of Human good verses Divine good;

The doctrine of Positional Truth; The Doctrine of union with Christ; The Doctrine of Impersonal Unconditional Love;

The Doctrine of Happiness or Contentment. The Doctrine of Election; The Doctrine of Eternal Security. The Doctrine of the Calling of God.

A lot of God’s people are shocked at the way that the Lord works as well as the kind of people that our Lord works with.

Whether you are shocked or free depends upon your understanding of the character and nature of God and the finished work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

If you cannot see the Lord Jesus Christ dwelling in fallen man or those with Old Sin Natures you will not see Him at all.

We are being fully trained to handle the outside pressures of adversity so that they do not become inside pressures of stress in the soul.

Gal 5:16 talks about walking by means of the Spirit and it is contrasted with carrying out the desires of the flesh – so that there is obviously a battle within all of us going on.

One of the greatest problems that we all need to deal with is the problem of guilt which cause many believers to fake the Christian way of life.

The Stereo Type Christian allows his old sin nature to rule his soul as a counterfeit spiritual nature which produces pseudo-spirituality.

By pseudo spirituality, I am referring to the carnal believer or the Stereo Type Christian.

1. The Stereo type Christian is a believer filled with the mental attitude of fear, worry, anxiety, and bitterness; Heb 12:15.

2. The stereo type Christian also tortures himself with self-induced misery especially in the realm of fear, which the includes worry and anxiety, and guilt and condemnation.

3. The Stereo type Christian is also filled with hatred, which includes anger, even violence at times.

4. The Stereo type can murder either mentally or physically; 1Jo 3:15.

5. The Stereo type Christian loves to feel sorry for themselves and fall into sins related to self-pity or sins related to guilt. (Like Jonah; Elijah).

6. The Stereo type Christian activism include arrogance, pride, jealousy, implacability, bitterness, vindictiveness, inordinate ambition and inordinate competition, all motivational sins, and sinful thoughts.

7. The Stereo type Christian is filled with verbal sins which include gossip, maligning, slander, judging, lying, and verbal deception.

8. The Stereo Type Christian often gets involved with partying and usually their sins include chemical sins, sexual sins, criminal sins.

9. Will you be influenced by doctrine and testify of TLJC as a member of the RFOG=Royal Family of God or will you be influenced by evil and become what 1Jo 3:10 calls a disciple of the devil.

10. Doctrine always exposes the plastic pseudo-stereo type Christian who lacks individuality and lays prey for the popular evangelists.

11.The stereo type Christian Loser is someone who personally has believed in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

12. The stereo type Christian Loser is totally ignorant of God’s plan even though he is a member of the Royal Family of God, he doesn’t know what to do.

13. The Stereo Type Christian substitutes what he assumes or feels must be God’s plan for his life.

14. The Stereo Type Christian concludes that the goal of the Christian life and spirituality is living moral.

15. The Stereo Type Christian assumes that the key to the Christian life is a sweet personality.

16. The Stereo-type Christian has no idea or concept about the plan of God.

No idea why they were created: No idea of the Angelic Conflict.

No idea of how to communicate the Gospel properly. No idea of the why there is Sin, Satan, and Suffering.

No idea of the Hypostatic-union and what undiminished deity and true humanity means concerning the Lord Jesus Christ.

No idea of the Church-age. No idea of Mystery Doctrine. No idea of the Total depravity of all mankind.

The only real measuring stick that we have is how many believers fulfill Matt 5:13-14 as it relates to the principle of the Pivot.

In Matt 16:3, the Lord rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducees because they could not discern the signs of the times?

We need to recognize the signs of the times in our day and age and also thank God for the believers today who are a part of the Pivot and fulfill Matt 5:13-16.

The role of salt in the ancient times and in in many cultures was used as a seasoning, a preservative, a disinfectant, and metaphorically it is used in the Bible signify

permanence, loyalty, and durability.

Col 4:6, Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, with salt, so that you may know how you should respond to each person.

Matt 5:13 does not say that the believer should use salt of the earth, rather it says that the believer is the salt of the earth.

Believer should be salt, or a preservative, a disinfectant, and metaphorically it is used in the Bible signify permanence, loyalty, and durability.

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." The Tree of Life is a weekly teaching summary: God’s Word is taught Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday

STUDY TITLE:

Each of our trials and troubles is a steppingstone, or it should be.

This past week, we noted the saying Hakuna Matata, which is a wonderful phrase which means “no worries” or “don’t worry, be happy, because everything is going to be alright.”

John 15:1-2, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch [believer] in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.”

The LORD wants us to recognize the importance of having a positive attitude no matter where we are because at any moment a satanic lie can “sneak attack” against the believer.

By now, throughout the years, you have heard me say that it is vital to remain positive toward GOD and His plan rather than be concerned and negative because things don’t seem to be going our way.

Everything in your life has the potential to either be a blessing or a curse, it all depends upon your outlook in life especially when we are facing certain challenges.

One of the major doctrinal privileges that we have in John 15:1-8, on the Vine and the branches is the subject of pruning. Therefore, we began to look at some of the most important doctrinal principles concerning what it means to be pruned which may simply refer to GOD shaping their lives in general to help them towards spiritual growth.

Pruning is the process of cutting away anything that would hinder the believer’s spiritual growth. Sometimes pruning gets rid of dead leaves that hinder the growth of the plant or of the vine and sometimes, if the damage is really bad, it can hinder the roots from functioning properly with the branches. In fact, when it comes to pruning, we need each other to build up and edify ourselves.

This is another reason why we need the Royal Family Honor Code to function properly when we are being pruned by our LORD sometimes personally, sometimes corporately which establishes us before Him.

Rom 12:10-21, Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the LORD; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and curse not. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath {of GOD,} for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the LORD. But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

When it comes to pruning, one of the most important functions of pruning is to separate the live branches from the dead branches. Pruning can come in many different ways because if we do not receive the spiritual pruning that is needed at the time, there is no way we will ever live the spiritual life that our LORD desires for us to live. Pruning is the benefit of having our LORD do the changes needed in our life even if it hurts some, at the time. In fact, what time is it? It is time to plant!

Let’s look at the context of what I call planning and pruning.

Ecc 3:1-8, There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven. A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance. A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing. A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away. A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; A time to be silent, and a time to speak. A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace.

In Ecc 3:2, notice the time! A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted. It is the second half of verse 2 that I would like you to look at the last phrase which states; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted. That’s the one phrase I want you to note. There are times that the dead branches need to be uprooted because unless you have removed the dead branches, certain problems that produce death will take all the strength that should go into the fruit not the dead branches. This is another reason why our LORD instructs us and commands us to separate from certain people at certain times.

In our study of John 15, on the road to the Garden of Gethsemane, the last thing that the Apostles needed was to be around the wrong kind of people. The apostles had enough problems with their own ability to handle the situation, and so the last thing they needed was to be around others who had a negative attitude on a consistent basis. There comes a time when GOD’s people need to learn the importance of separation or the importance of being purged away from other believers who have a negative attitude. This is why PRO 13:20 says, “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.”

The apostle Paul warned us about this principle of purging or separation in 2Ti 3:5, “They [believers and unbelievers in the cosmic system] hold to external forms of GODliness, but have renounced the power of that same GODliness; you also be turning yourself away from these men.”

Look at 2Th 3:6, Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ, that you keep aloof or you separate from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us.

2Th 3:11-15, For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now such persons we command and exhort in the LORD Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. And if anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that man and do not associate with him, so that he may be put to shame. And {yet} do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

In Rom 16:17-18, Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. For such men are slaves, not of our LORD Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting or the silly ones.
