Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: Gal 6:7, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;
for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”

The relationship between the Word of God as “the Written Word” and our Lord Jesus Christ as “the Living Word,” we begin with the fact that Proverbs Chapter Eight and all the verses that describe the wisdom of God; Prov 8.

Whether it is the Written Word or the Living word, both of these are under attack — It does not really matter, the devil is always
trying to deceive us on either realm.

The “Living Word” is the result of studying “the life that our Lord lived” as an example for all of us to follow.

First Section = Where we have the importance of the communication of Bible doctrine in spite of the fact that “wisdom or chokmah” is still here around us; in Prov 8:1-11.

Second Paragraph = Prov 8:12-21, we have the second section which deals with the production of doctrine or that which “wisdom or chokmah” produces in us; Prov 8:12-21.

We are reminded about a few of the passages that really make our life unique.

Prov 8:17 = This doctrine that we love also loves those who love it.”

The most important love in your life is to love doctrine which is the means or the vehicle of our personal love toward God.

Our love for doctrine or the Word of God will always respond to us and love us back.

It is God the Holy Spirit who is protecting the man of God from being judged by others, especially if you are protected as a servant of the Lord.

The heritage of the Servant of the Lord or the heritage that comes from Isa 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment, you will condemn.

The heritage of the Servant of the Lord is found in Isa 54:17 which says “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper;

“Do not touch God’s anointed one” even if God’s anointed one fails.

The “Divine Command which says in Isa 54:17 = The First Thing Mentioned is having a weapon.

2Co 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but {only} for the truth.

No matter what you believe there are weapons that only you can handle because these weapons are made just for believers.

When Isa 54:17 says every tongue that accuses you in judgment, you will condemn = This is the Heritage of those who function as a communicator of Doctrine.
1Ti 5:20 – J. Vernon McGee says that Those who continue in sin are those who receive accusations against the pastor and then rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also may be fearful {of sinning.}

Gal 6:7 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”

The pastor is to receive double honor but he also receives double discipline for not protecting the Throne of our Lord.

James 3:1 Let not many {of you} become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we shall incur a stricter judgment.

Back in Prov 8:21, Doctrine or the word of God is said to do something just for us as in Prov 8:21 = doctrine or chokmah is said to endow those who love me [wisdom] with wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.

It is through knowledge of doctrine that the believer receives his inheritance.

Prov 8:21 wisdom will endow or will dress those who love wisdom [chokmah] with wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.

We have the third paragraph which is found in Prov 8:22-36, here is where we have the dynamics of metabolize doctrine.

This is a reference to the Bible doctrine our Lord possessed in eternity past when He, our Lord, used to bring glory to our God.

We are noting what our Lord was doing at some time in eternity past.

We need to study the Virgin Pregnancy which is followed by the physical birth of our Lord, and then the life of our Lord and then finally, the ultimate victory of our Lord on the cross.

Prov 8:22, we read that the wisdom of God is revealed by passages that teach that us he principle that “The Lord possessed Me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old.”

1. The Lord possessed the chokmah or the wisdom of God in eternity past when He was possessed by no matter what the problem may be.

2. The Lord is not only possessed by doctrine, but the Lord also used doctrine to perform His works.

3. This passage says that the Lord has a beginning of His way, before His works of old.

4. Doctrine was working together with the Spirit of God and we are told that our Lord used this wisdom in the beginning of “His way,” before “His Works of Old.

All of this tells us how our Lord used chokmah or wisdom in the beginning of His way, before His works of old.

Doctrine was around in eternity past.

Doctrine was around before the creation of the angels.

Doctrine was around before the angelic conflict.

Doctrine was around before the human race.

The Hebrew verb to be established is the verb nasak which means to be installed in the rooms of your soul.

The most valuable thing is usually the thing that is the oldest, and the oldest thing is in the form of thought and that thought is Bible doctrine which is the mind of Christ.

When you look out and see the magnificence of the mountains, just remember before those hills were settled in place…… doctrine existed even before them.

TLJC [The Lord Jesus Christ] is the One who created all things, and in this passage wisdom is saying ……when He established the heavens I wisdom was there.

The Lord Jesus Christ used doctrine to create the universe.

The master workman is the Hebrew noun amon which refers to an architect, one who is skilled.

Doctrine was a daily thing for TLJC [The Lord Jesus Christ] and it should be a daily thing for us.

Next we have the phrase “rejoicing always before Him” which means giving Him happiness as well.

Here is something that pre-existed all forms of creation, including angels and mankind.

The word blessed is ashere and in the plural it means happinesses.

There are many sides to happiness.

All of these principles apply to us who are living the spiritual life, which is needed to enjoy the blessings of God.

First – Capacity,
Second – Possession
Thirdly – Inner happiness
Fourth – Overt happiness

If you possess something without the capacity for it, it will only make our life miserable.

1. You’ll never really enjoy life until you develop a capacity to do so in your soul.

2. With maximum doctrine resident in the soul as a basis for capacity for life or blessing which is really life for the mature believer who can enjoy the benefits of grace in time and in eternity.

Psa 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;

3. You’ll never forget the benefits of God when you have maximum doctrine in the soul.

John 15:11 “I have taught you these things, in order that My happiness [+H] might be in you, and that your happiness might be completed [fulfilled].”

4. You will never enjoy what you have without capacity for life through doctrine resident in the soul.

5. Solomon taught that is principle of having a capacity for the blessings that God gives because you will always be looking for something more or something better unless you have capacity in your soul and appreciation of God’s grace.

Instruction – musar = correction and discipline that results from being faithful to the word of God as we are constantly under attack by Satan to try and stop us from going forward in the plan of God.

There has always been and there still is an attack on the daily intake of Bible doctrine.

I’m talking about believers being used by Satan to discredit doctrinal teaching and the believer’s commitment to the daily intake of doctrine.

These individuals make it seem like you are a fanatic if you take in doctrine daily, or that you are getting puffed up because of too much knowledge.

In Neh 8:18, a revival was taking place in Israel because of the desire for doctrine from their teacher, Ezra, the priest.

Neh 8:18 And he read from the book of the Law of God [that is the Torah] daily, from the first day to the last day.

TLJC [The Lord Jesus Christ] made it crystal clear that we would need the word of God daily to survive in Matt 4:4 and Luk 9:23.

Luke 9:23 And He was saying to them all, “if anyone wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

TLJC [The Lord Jesus Christ] also taught doctrine every day in Luke 19:47 He was teaching daily in the temple; and the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,

Luke 22:53, the Lord said While I was with you daily in the temple,

Acts 16:5 So the churches were being strengthened in the faith and were increasing in number daily.

Psa 145:2…”Everyday will I bless thee”

Psa 61:8…”I will perform my vows or my responsibilities daily”

Psa 72:15… “Daily shall He be praised”

Psa 119:164 Seven times a day I will praise Thee because of your righteous judgments.

Psa 1:2 “But his delight [the mature believer] is in the Law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.”

Isa 8:9 “My Lord, I have called daily upon you.”

Acts 20:31 “Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears.

2Co 4:16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.

In Acts 2:46 the early church continued daily with one accord in the temple, Acts 2:46 And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple,

Acts 5:42 they ceased not to preach and teach about TLJC daily in the temple, according to Acts 5:42 And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

In 2Ch 8:14, The Levitical priests would praise and minister daily.

In 2Ch 31:16, They would enter the house of the Lord for their daily obligations.

In Ezr 3:4, they offered burnt offerings daily, according to the ordinance, as each day required.

In Jer 7:25, “Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have sent you all my servants the prophets, daily rising early and sending them.

In Acts 19:9, the apostle Paul taught doctrine and reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.

That’s the story of a lot of people in life, they injure themselves by their own rejection of doctrine.

In verse Acts 19:36, “All those who hate me NVTD [negative volition toward doctrine] love death.”

Death here means no life and enjoyment in time and then ultimately, the sin unto death for those who have refused the correction of the Lord.

There are too many other things that they consider more important, this is called grieving the Holy Spirit.

Rev 12:11 Furthermore, they [believers in TLJC=The Lord Jesus Christ] overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and [they overcame him] because of the doctrine applied by means of their testimony,
