Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9 says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: Commandment #7, Satan does not want us to enter the Promise Land and has giants in the land to stop us.

Commandment #7 = the relationship that idolatry and the influence of the demonism with the Phallic Cult and sexual sins have upon the believer.

We all have some type of “giant” or “giants” that we have to deal with such as the giant of fear; worry, doubt, guilt, condemnation, moral and immoral degeneracy, etc.

This requires or demands in us to be “Giant Killers.” who can say as the apostle Paul said in 1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith;

2Ti 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;

All of the giants like unbelief, fear, doubt, and worry, etc. are designed to take our eyes off TLJC and on the details of life.

The Devil does not want us to enter the “Promise Land” and has set hostile giants throughout the land to prevent us from taking the inheritance that God has given us.

It is these hostile giants that the word of God teaches us to overcome, 1JO 5:4.

1Jo5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world our faith.

Crossing of the Red Sea = a picture of Christ’s death for you and me — when he cuts us off from Egypt or the world in all its attitudes, ways, and opinions.

Theophany – a manifestation of TLJC in the Old Testament, (e.g. He appeared as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, as well as appearing as an angel or a man.

This is a manifestation of the presence of God going before and after the Israeli military.

It is “between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel” which refers to the camp of Satan and the camp of the Lord.

The Lord separated them from the Egyptians as He does with us, He separates us from our very own spiritual Egypt or the cosmic system.

Matt 10:34-38 – certain loved ones or friends become involved in the cosmic system and Satan uses them to distract the “Giant Killers” from fulfilling God’s plan.

You have the alternatives to follow them or take up your cross (even mental separation) and follow the Lord.

The believer can maintain his correct priorities by mental preparation and separation, switching from personal love to impersonal love.

Physical separation is sometimes needed to maintain one’s priorities and to use one’s volition to remain inside the PPOG.

Prov 13:20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, but a companion of fools shall become corrupted.

2Ti 3:5 “They [believers and unbelievers in the cosmic system] hold to external forms of godliness, but have renounced the power of that same godliness; you also be turning yourself away from these men.”

In Rom 16:17-18 “turn away from them” is physical separation from troublemakers.

Rom16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.

Separation is necessary because of the INFLUENCE OF the cosmic system.- Rom 12:1-3.

Paul is literally saying, “Take your everyday, ordinary life your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life and place it before God as an offering.

What is the first thing God did, create us or bless us?

The first thing God did was to grace us out with divine blessing and then He elected or chose us to be “in Christ.”

Prin-Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him.

Don’t become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.

You’ll be changed from the inside out — where it really counts.

Recognize what the Lord wants from you, and quickly respond to it.

Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well formed maturity in you.

The apostle Paul says “Living as every one of you does, in pure grace, is important so that you not misinterpret yourselves as people who are bringing this glory to God.

The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what He does for us, not by what we are and what we do for Him.

“If you fail in the matter of separation, you will think about self in terms of arrogance” Rom 12:3.

Separation is thinking about yourself in relation to others apart from arrogance.

The first prerequisite for proper separation is a good sense of humor.

By switching from personal love to impersonal love you get away from your illusions about people you have loved.

Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father.

Practically everything that goes on in the world or the Cosmos, wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important has nothing to do with the Father.

The world (Cosmic system) and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.

Ecc 3:11 The Lord has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set the desire for eternity or eternal things in their heart.

Separation from unbelievers inside the cosmic system is taught in 2Co 6:14-17.

Amos 3:3 “Do two men walk together unless they have made an appointment with each other or agree with each other?”

Those who have NVTD, reject spiritual authority, refuse the Lord’s supper, and do not the gathering together with the Royal Family of God.

God himself put it this way: “I’ll live in them, move into them; I’ll be their God and they’ll be my people.

Leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good,” says God. “Don’t link up with those who will pollute you. I want you all for Myself.”

Separation is important in social life, Jer 15;16-17; 1Pe 4:3-4.

There comes a time when the believer grows spiritually, and his first function is to separate from the crowd that use to lead him in the wrong direction.

The crossing of the Red Sea is a picture of Christ’s death for us when He cuts us off from Egypt or the world and in all its attitudes, ways, and opinions.

Your spiritual baptism (identification with TLJC) was an expression of the fact that you were passing out of one life (old sea) into another, and that your whole attitude was changed.

That was the Red Sea — a type of His death for you.

Crossing the Jordan River is a picture of your death with Christ, when you bring your Adamic life to an end; when all that you are in Adam comes to an end.

However, your reliance on yourself, your desire to have your own programs to follow, or to live and make your own decisions is dealt with by TLJC.

Jer 13:23 “Can the Ethiopian change his skin Or the leopard his spots? Then you also can do good Who are accustomed to doing evil.

Eph 4:22, 24 You lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and you have put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

You live and move and have your being in 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Gal 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;

Gal 6:15 “For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.”

Ask God to defeat these giants and build His heavenly attributes in our hearts and He will says James 4:2 “You do not have because you do not ask.”

2Co 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

Issue = “What is preventing you from taking the promises of Word and appropriating them in your life?”

With the powerful weapons of spiritual warfare, the Lord will tear down the strongholds and fortresses of these giants.

Victory is supposed to be the norm and standard in Christianity.

The promises are suppose to be the way of life for Christians.

Can you name some of the giant killers mentioned in the Bible, chances are that all of you would point to David (who killed Goliath the giant; 1Sa 17).

The Israelites under the leadership of Moses and later Joshua (who killed the kings Sihon and Og; Deut 3:11, Num 21:21-35, Jos 2:10) and Caleb (who killed the gigantic descendants of Anak that lived on a mountain; Jos 14.

Moses-Joshua = who killed the kings and giants in Sihon and Og; Deut 3:11, “For only Og king of Bashan was left of the remnant and it is referring to the giants in the land known as the Rephaim.”

He was approximately 12 feet tall and if the weight correlates with the size of the other giants, he would be about 450 pounds.

There is a good chance that Church history may record your name as a giant killer.

Speaking of their victories over the giants in the land, Jos 2:10.

Gen 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Moses, Joshua, Caleb and David, as well as members of David’s family, just to mention a few, all had on their eternal resume’ the fact that they were giant killers.

They will be rewarded as giant killers says 1Co 3:11-15; 2Co 5:10.

Caleb killed the gigantic descendants of Anak that lived on a mountain; Jos 14.

It is unlikely that one of the names in that list would be of man known as Elhanan.

Elhanan is mentioned once in the Bible (in two verses) and what makes him stand out is that in his introduction he is identified as the killer of Lahmi, a giant, who was the brother of the giant Goliath.

Elhanan carried weapons and a spear very similar to that of Goliath (1Ch 20:5; 2Sa 21:19).

1Ch 20:5 And there was war with the Philistines again, and Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

2Sa 21:19 And there was war with the Philistines again at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.

Goliath the Philistine or Goliath from Gath is the name of the giant that David killed, Goliath the Gittite is one of the giants that one of David’s relatives killed.

It is not how much is known OF us, but what is known of us that matters.

Sometimes our feats and accomplishments, though it may be similar in magnitude, may not be very well known by others as that of some others.

We must be diligent in our duties to do what is required of us.

Elhanan is recorded as a giant slayer and will forever hold that accolade, irrespective of the extent of how much people known of him.

Every time someone talks of Elhanan, he will be known as a giant killer, placed in the same echelon of David, Moses & Joshua and Caleb.

Whatever the giant is that we face, we must be willing to acknowledge its existence in order to overcome it.
