Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, only if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life) John 3:16, John 6:47 as a few examples; it is very important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so the Holy Spirit can teach you as to what your reading or hearing is true or false. To be taught by the Holy Spirit you must be filled with the Holy Spirit which means abiding in Christ. To place yourself in fellowship with God the Holy Spirit [also called abiding in the Christ], take a moment to simply name, cite or acknowledge [confess] your known unconfessed sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father). Why? Because you cannot grow spiritually if you’re not abiding in Christ [in fellowship with Him] when you take in bible truth.

1 John 1:9, says: “If we confess [meaning to simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known unconfessed sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND; read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. Left click the following link to learn more and fully understand the doctrine of Rebound; which answers the question, why do I need to keep confessing my sins all the time? REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.

John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV

Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

Study to show yourself approved to God!

STUDY TITLE:

Weekly Bible Study, November 28, 2022, God the Father is the only source of true blessings.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Eph 1:3)

This verse begins with a verbal adjective eulogetos. This is used only of deity in the N.T. [New Testament] (Luk 1:68). The word is eulogetos. Taken from the participle eulogeo = good or well; lego = to speak which means to praise. As an adjective eulogetos means “worthy of praise and glorification.” It is a technical word, one of the high words of praise used only for God. This word is going to occur several times in this passage. To be ready to appreciate eulogetos one must have completed at least the first stage of spiritual adulthood, SSE [spiritual self-steem]. At SSE we have the beginning of personal love for God, the beginning of true humility, the beginning professionalism, and the beginning of sharing the happiness of God. All of these, coordinated, begin true virtue and integrity in the believer. All of these mental attitude blessings are the result of consistent inculcation of the word of God with the result that the believer understands that none of it was possible without what God had provided.

There in is an appreciation for the character and nature of God that leads to occupation with the person of Christ. The adult believer sees God and appreciates God and understands that only God is worthy of praise and glorification. We should never take life for granted. We should never take God for granted. He alone is worthy of praise and glorification. You cannot glorify God or praise God or appreciate God or have capacity to love God apart from Bible doctrine. The call now is to appreciate God in time from your very own Equal Privilidge/Equal Opportunity for spiritual growth and the recognition of the essence of God. In heaven we will all appreciate Him because we will be minus our OSN [old sin nature], the KOD [king of darkness], and the cosmic system whether we are winner believers or loser believers.

Rev 4:10-11, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created.”

The worship of the twenty-four elders has a particular note concerning our word eulogetos. They not only worship and recognize these attributes of God but support their worship by recognition of the fact that God is the sovereign Creator of the universe and, as such, is sovereign over all of it. This is in fact the meaning of the word eulogetos, worthy of praise and glorification. Its meaning is out all over the airwaves and it’s up to us to either recognize its validity or reject it. Here the creature honors His Maker and accepts the dictum that man necessarily must be subject to his Creator. The world today does not give such honor to the Lord God. Though men benefit from His goodness and live in a universe of His creation, they tend to neglect the worship of God. One of the important aims of the book of Revelation is to trace the divine movement of history toward the goal of universal recognition of God. This purpose of God, especially as related to the Son of God, is also spelled out in Philippians 2:9-11:

Therefore, also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11“>Php 2:9-11)

As if anticipating the ultimate consummation where all will recognize the exalted name of Jesus whether in heaven or hell, Revelation 4 reveals this intimate glimpse of heaven where all created beings join in a symphony of praise and give their honor and worship to the Almighty God. Why are a certain few given the privilege of leading the entire body of Christ in this worship? It is because they recognized this very fact before they were allowed to see Christ face to face. The word eulogetos was their battle cry in time because they saw Christ face to face through His word! The worthiness of God to receive such praise is related to His sovereign right to rule as the One who sits upon the throne. The twenty-four elders bear witness to His majesty and glory, His holiness and power, and the eternity of the One “which was, and is, and is to come.”

All creatures owe their very existence to Him as their Creator, “for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Wise is the soul who finds in the Scriptures the revelation of such a God and who bows now in this day of grace in faith and worship before the God whom he will serve in eternity. The first word in this long sentence that summarizes the plan of God for the church in Eph 1:3-14 is in fact a description of the thinking of the most mature believer who completes the plan of God. At the end of his life Paul understood this more than anyone and he instructed his young apprentice Timothy to have the same attitude. If Timothy taught doctrine without full understanding that it was God who should be glorified and not any creature including Timothy, then Timothy, like all of us in our walk, would get absorbed with the details and the problems. Of course the glorification of God is the ultimate objective.

I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things [don’t get emotional or subjective], endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. [Now he uses himself as an example to Timothy and to all of us, no matter what spiritual gift you possess.] I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; (2Ti 4:1-7)

No believer is going to do that if he doesn’t recognize God’s authority and His worthiness for praise and glorification.

in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. (2Ti 4:8)

The call is to have this attitude in time through your execution of your very own plan. This is the implication of eulogetos to the believer in time. Eulogetos is the first word in the summary and it is the last word of the mature believer in time who about to be called home.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Eph 1:3)

“The God” — ho theos. This time we have the definite article to indicate the identity of the noun, “God.” “and Father” — we have kai pater again, mentioned this time to indicate once again the first person of the Trinity who is invisible and unknowable apart from Bible doctrine, and the key to knowing Him is the Lord Jesus Christ. God and Father is the same person. We have no definite article with pater to call attention to the quality He is; the Father is the absolute authority. The first person of the Trinity is the author of the divine plan, the ultimate source of grace, the One with absolute authority, and the only One that can assure freedom in the heart of an individual to function within his own plan.

“of our Lord Jesus Christ” tou kuriou hemon Iesou Christou. This phrase presents the focal point of the Father’s plan and at the same time emphasizes that the only celebrity of the Christian life is Jesus Christ. The definite article tou indicates the relationship of every one of these words. Every one of these words is a genitive of relationship. Tou is the genitive of the definite article, it gives us the key. Tou kuriou – the Lord (deity) – is genitive of relationship and it is a relationship between the Son and the Father. The Son has the same essence as the Father. “Lord” is deity. Then we have Iesou in the genitive, the humanity of Christ.

At this point, when we get to the word “Jesus,” we now see something of the uniqueness of Christ. “Jesus” – He is coequal with God the Father but He is different from the Father because He is true humanity. The Christou– Anointed or Appointed One – indicates that His humanity was sent through the sovereign decision and plan of the Father to be the Messiah. The humanity of Christ was sent to the world. He was sent to the world to save mankind from the second death and to provide for mankind what he lost at the fall – a relationship with God.

So, man comes into contact with Jesus Christ, and when he does he learns about the Father; first of all by receiving as his savior the living Word — phase one, Christ on the cross; then phase two, the written Word — the Bible, the canon of scripture, doctrine — and then he learns about both Christ and the Father and the whole plan.

God the Father is the author of the plan — operation grace. He is the object of all worship, praise, glorification, homage, adoration, and thanksgiving. Jesus Christ is both the revelation of the Godhead and the first phase of the plan of God. As the Father of Jesus Christ, the first person of the Trinity sent the Son as the grace entrance into the Father’s plan. Christ said, “I am the door.”

The work of the Son on the Cross not only excludes but it precludes all human works for salvation and subsequent blessing. Since Christ is the only savior, the Lord is the entrance into the Father’s plan, there is no other way.

b>Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Eph 1:3)

“who” is not found in the original manuscript. Instead there is a pre-positive definite article ho, usually translated “the one.” It always refers to the person in context about whom everything is being said: “the one” — God the Father. “has blessed” — ho eulogesas – literally, “the one [God the Father] having blessed.” This is the aorist active participle from eulogeo. God the Father is the subject of the participle. This is a gnomic aorist tense, which means it is the norm or standard of the universe. A gnomic aorist is one in which a doctrine is regarded as an absolute. It is to be taught as an absolute thing. This verb really means to provide benefits.

Gnomic aorist – It is an absolute in this universe of relatives that the God and Father provides mankind with benefits. This means any blessing that comes from sin does not come from God and therefore it means that that is not blessing in the absolute sense, in the grace sense. So, it is important to understand the gnomic aorist. This is an absolute. The active voice: God the Father produces the action, He provides the benefits, does all the work, there is no place for human ability, human talent, human personality, human ingenuity.

Israel desired a king and they were given Saul. Saul started out his young adulthood with a relationship with God, but power got to his head and he decided to seek blessing in his own way and he disobeyed God.

But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were not willing to destroy them utterly; but everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed. Then the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying, “I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not carried out My commands.” (1Sa 15:9-11)

On the other hand, his successor David, though not a sinless man by any means, had a heart to follow God. Saul died the sin unto death with nothing and David was blessed beyond what he ever thought. God the Father is the only source of blessing and all human ability must be excluded.

to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to establish the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba. (2Sa 3:10)

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Eph 1:3)

The fact that “having blessed” is an aorist participle indicates something beautiful about God that is brought out by adhering to strict Greek grammar. The action of the aorist participle precedes the action of the main verb. The main verb: “he chose us,” found in verse Eph 1:4.

First of all He provided benefits and then He chose or elected us. Notice what comes first. The blessing comes before the person. Before He chose us in eternity past He provided the blessing first because God’s essence is to bless and give. “us” is the accusative plural of the personal pronoun hemas refers to believers of the Church-age. Therefore, the phrase reads. “Worthy of praise and glorification, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the [only] one having provided us [true] benefits”

People in time can be a blessing, but only God could be a blessing to us in eternity past, before we existed. Since the blessings from the Father came first, before your election and therefore before you, you can have nothing to do to earn or establish them. God the Father as the grantor in eternity past provided blessing for you despite your fallen state and your personal sins. The plan of God is perfect and therefore it cannot depend on mankind. It can only depend on God in grace to bless and elect through redemption. Here is the perfection of the divine plan compatible with God’s character. He provided us the benefits and then He provided us. Therefore under the aorist active participle of eulogew God blesses or provides benefit on the basis of who and what He is, never who and what we are.

When we get away from grace we get away from blessing. Religious living or living for self in the cosmic system cuts off all divine blessings except for logistical grace. All believers, winning or losing, are recipients of logistic grace blessings – food, water, shelter, clothing, etc. Losing believers cut themselves off from greater grace.

It must always be remembered that God provided all blessings in eternity past. By submitting to doctrine, the F/HS [Father/Holy Spirit], and the Plan of God in humility increases capacity to receive that which God has already designed.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Eph 1:3)

“with every spiritual blessing”en pase eulogia pneumatike = by means of every spiritual benefit. “spiritual” does not exclude material blessings but emphasizes the source of all blessings. God is spirit and therefore the source of all blessings is spiritual. You may receive a wonderful financial blessing, right man or right woman, a tremendous promotion on your job, etc. all of which are physical in nature but spiritual in source. The key to appreciating all blessings is to appreciate the Giver over and above the gift.

As soon as you even begin to think that you received something because of your own doing, even spiritual growth, puts you in the category of the subject of giving. Spiritual growth simply provides capacity to receive what God has already graciously and freely bestowed. So, get off your high spiritual horse! Materialistic blessings are always secondary to spiritual blessings – the blessings of mental attitude. Without spiritual growth there will be no ability to enjoy materialistic blessings properly. This means faith rest, doctrinal orientation, grace orientation, a personal sense of destiny, and impersonal unconditional love, which all together provide the very happiness of God in the believer’s heart. No material blessing can even come close to matching that in value. But the overall point here in the word pneumatike is that: If God is the source then that blessing is spiritual.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Eph 1:3)

“in the heavenly places” preposition en plus the definite article tois and the locative plural of the noun epouraniois = in the heavenlies.

Since God the Father blessed you in eternity past, before the foundation of the world then it stands to reason that the location of blessings to the believer are in the abode of God – the heavenlies. Right now, this is where Christ is seated. This is the arena of angelic majesties and it is the location of the Supreme Court of Heaven. Our very life is hid with Christ in the heavenlies and so are our blessings.

If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. (Col 3:1)

There is a grace pipeline extending from the Justice of God right down to the righteousness of God in the believer. Since God the Father is the grantor, Jesus Christ is the escrow officer, or the one who holds the blessings until capacity is achieved. That’s why we have the next prepositional phrase: “in Christ” – en plus the locative of Christos. We are in union with the very One who holds our super-grace blessings, which is positional truth. The absence of the definite article emphasizes the quality of Christ. The quality of Christ is perfect. The quality is resurrected, ascended, and seated Jesus Christ at the right hand of the Father. His humanity is in the place of highest glorification. His deity always possesses glorification. As the God-Man seated at the right hand of the Father in Hypostatic-union He is absolutely unique.

Translation: “Worthy of praise and glorification the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the [only] one having provided us [true] benefits by every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ.”

Hymn #1

Hymn #2

REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus, The Christ alone for eternal life [salvation] and you will be saved [receive Eternal Life] the very micro second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness [Num 21:4-9], even so must the Son of Man be lifted up [the cross], that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

Internet Church Service – November 27, 2022; LET'S TALK ABOUT SEX

Under Freedom we have been noting the Ten Commandments = Commandment #7 – designed for freedom in the Protection of Marriage – Exo 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery.”

Col 3:5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body [eyes, ears, hands, feet], as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.

There are five nouns coming up in this verse and they all have to so with some different aspect of sexual sins.

The five sins mentioned are mentioned by the words, immorality, impurity, passion, evil desires, greed, which all are said to be some sort of a manifestation of demonic worship or the worship of idolatry.

1. Immorality = porneian – refers to fornication or sexual immorality between a man and a woman outside of the marital realm.

Normally fornication refers to sexual activity outside of marriage, whereas adultery usually refers to one or both who are married but having sexual relations with those outside their marriage.

There is a destructive force that happens within the body when fornication, promiscuity and adultery are committed; 1Co 6:13-18 = destructive force is the effect that these sins have upon the body.

That the destructive force is usually manifested by the man becoming impotent while the woman becomes frigid or both can no longer have any true and real response or pleasure from the sex.

That destructive force is in view in Heb 13:4 where the Bible says “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”

“being undefiled” means that when the married man and woman decide on what is permitted and condoned in the realm of sex is between the man and the woman.

We are back to the principle of privacy and intimacy in the sexual realm and what the two agree on sexually is that which is allowed by the two adults involved.

This is not talking about salvation but your escrow blessings for time and eternity.

The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but is intended for the Lord, and the Lord is intended for the body to save, sanctify, and raise it again.

This says to get rid of immorality and all sexual looseness and to flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed.

Because any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

You were bought with a price purchased with a preciousness of the life of Christ, 1Pe 1:18-19.

Anything that attacks the female body also attacks her soul.

The reason for teaching this is for guidance and direction in a subject that God has created for the purpose of virtue, happiness, stimulation and pleasure …..and that is SEX!

When a woman is not satisfied or responsive in sex, it can lead to lesbianism or nymphomania, which is why a lot of women go to strip bars and eventually enter into lesbianism.

For the male species, his failure to function properly in the sexual realm leads him to inferior actions and eventually such sins like homosexuality.

The Bible teaches that the preparation for a great sex life is persistent daily metabolization of doctrine.

Because PVTD [positive volition towards doctrine] creases one’s ability to care for others and to satisfy their sexual desires or needs which is the attitude that is needed in the sexual relationship.

Caring for others and fulfilling their needs is a manifestation of the individual’s desires…….so that PVTD carries over into a life of caring and happiness accompanied by virtue. immorality = porneian – refers to fornication or sexual immorality between a man and a woman outside of the marital realm.

1. Next is the accusative singular noun akathasian translated impurity which means uncleanness, religious impurity, unnatural sexual activity.

Abnormal sex includes incest, homosexuality, lesbianism, indecent exposure, masturbation, child molestation, bestiality, sodomy, and other forms of abnormal sexual activity is prohibited.

1. Incest is forbidden as we noted in Lev 18:6-17, Deut 27:20 ,22; 1Co 5:1-7.

Incest is sexual relations between people classed as being too closely related to marry each other or the crime of having sexual intercourse with a parent, child, sibling, or grandchild.

2. Homosexuality is forbidden: Lev 18:22, 20:13; its penalty was death.

3. Bestiality is forbidden: Lev 18:23, 20:15. Animal and man were both killed in punishment. Dt 27:21.

4. Pimping and prostitution are also forbidden, Lev 19:29; Deut 23:17.

One writer says; “Don’t violate your daughter by making her a whore the whole country would soon become a brothel, filled with filthy and cheap sex.”

5. Rape is forbidden and punishable by death, Deut 22:25-27.

6. Other forms of abnormal sex that are forbidden include necrophilia, pederasty, voyeurism.

All of these forms of abnormal sex are in view in the noun akathasian translated impurity.

Now, impurity or the noun akathasian also refers to uncleanness and religious impurity, as we have noted.

Mat 23:27, “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.

This word refers to both moral and spiritual impurity and is actually used to describe the overall status of the O.S.N. [Old Sin Nature] in Gal 5:19.

pathos = lustful or emotional passion, this refers to abnormal sex lust, not abnormal sex but abnormal sex lust.

In the Phallic cult of the ancient world, voyeurism was one of the main attractions and functions.

Voyeurism is obtaining sexual gratification from seeing sex organs and sexual acts and using them for sexual stimulation.

Mat 5:28 But I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

This word pathos refers to depraved passion as found in Rom 1:26, For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,

This word was used in classical Greek for emotions that were often stronger than man’s ability to control them.

Paul used this word three times to mean a distinct sense of perverse erotic passion, Rom 1:26, Col 3:5, 1Th 4:5.

This word is used in Rom 1:26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,

Col 3:5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion,

The fourth noun mentioned is the accusative singular noun >em>epithumian plus the adjective kaken which means evil desire or lust.

Lasciviousness = still dealing with one major problem in Colosse and in the Lycos valley which is the influence of the Phallic cult.

Lust is the overwhelming desire for something; a passionate desire; an illicit, uncontrolled, overwhelming desire which originates from the old sin nature and gains the cooperation of your volition.

Lust divorces the believer from reality, causing unrealistic expectation which eliminates understanding and using the problem-solving devices.

Lust also destroys spiritual self-esteem and replaces it with inordinate desire related to self-gratification.

There are two categories of lust: unfulfilled lust and fulfilled lust.

Unfulfilled lust causes direct frustration and intensifies the desires involved.

Fulfilled lust does not bring the anticipated happiness, and therefore, operation boomerang, the third stage of reversionism, occurs.

Happiness and contentment come from relationship with God and the understanding of His grace provision, grace policy, and the use of the problem-solving devices.

Lust destroys the believer’s motivation to glorify God and replaces it with self-promoting motivation.

Lust causes the believer to become dishonest with himself, and therefore, dishonest with others.

Lust divorces the believer from reality so that every mechanic of the Christian way of life is distorted.

Lust can only be overcome through spiritual momentum, spiritual growth, the advance to spiritual adulthood through PMA [positive mental attitude] of B.D. [bible doctrine]

“and greed” is the conjunction “kai [and] ten [the], and then the accusative singular noun, pleonexian which means covetousness, greedy, also refers to an insatiable appetite for sexual activity.

“which” = a qualitative relative pronoun and it should be translated which category of things…a reference to the five nouns mentioned in this verse referring to the Phallic cult.

Col 3:5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, [moral and spiritual] impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, or an insatiable appetite for sexual activity, which amounts to idolatry.

“amounts to” is the pre-act-ind of eimi which is estin, which category of things “keeps on being”

Col 3:5 Therefore, consider the members of your earthly body [such as your eyes, ears, feet, hands, etc.] as dead to immorality [sexual activity outside of marriage] impurity [abnormal sexual activity], passion [abnormal sex lust], evil desire [an illicit, uncontrolled, overwhelming desire for sex], and greed [an insatiable appetite or craving for sexual activity], and then a very shocking statement which keeps on amounting to idolatry or the worship of idols or demons.

According to ancient sources, one of the cruelest and most humiliating forms of punishment in the ancient world was, crucifixion.

The Jewish historian Josephus best described it following the siege of Jerusalem by the Romans in AD 70 as “the most wretched of deaths.” And stated that suicide is preferable to the cruel fate of being put on the cross.

Think of the fact that the Jewish people did not use a cross or a tree for capital punishment, therefore consider the odds of the Lord Jesus Christ having to die on a cross by the hands of the Jews —- a capital punishment!

The crucifixion allowed our Lord to fulfill such prophecies as the brazen serpent being lifted up on a pole, Numbers 21:9.

Num 21:9 And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard [tall pole]; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.

The fact that people would watch Him as He was suffering publicly was also fulfilled, Psa 22:7-8.

Psa 22:7 All who see me sneer at me; They separate with the lip, they wag the head, {saying,}

Psa 22:8 “Commit {yourself} to the Lord; let Him deliver him; Let Him rescue him, because He delights in him.”

The fact that His hands and feet would be pierced, Psa 22:16.

Psa 22:16 For dogs have surrounded me; A band of evildoers has encompassed me; They pierced my hands and my feet.

The fact that not one of His bones would be broken, Psa 34:20.

Psa 34:20 He keeps all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

The fact that they would offer The Lord Jesus Christ gall and vinegar, Psa 69:21.

Psa 69:21 They also gave me gall for my food, And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Isa 53:12 Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death,

And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.

Then there was the piercing of Jesus’ side, Zec 12:10.

Zec 12:10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him, like the bitter weeping over a first born.

Dt 21:22 “And if a man has committed a sin worthy of death, and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree,

Dt 21:23 his corpse shall not hang all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him on the same day (for he who is hanged is accursed of God), so that you do not defile your land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance.

The cross therefore was the electric chair, the gas chamber, the lethal injection of first century Rome and its many provinces and captive lands.

At different times something will trigger your memory and suddenly you will recall things or an event or a person or a situation which floods into your conscious mind.

The Tree of Life is a weekly teaching summary: God’s Word is taught Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday

STUDY TITLE:

Weekly Bible Study, November 21, 2022, Grace and Peace are directed towards the believer from God.

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and who are faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph 1:1-2)

In this salutation everything that is connected with our relationship with God at the point of salvation is mentioned or suggested.

At the moment of salvation, we receive 40 things which can never be improved. For example, the baptism of the Spirit, regeneration, the sealing of the Spirit, the spiritual gifts, and so on. These things received at the point of salvation are non-improvable.

Our capacity to appreciate them and our capacity for blessing is going to come out of our spiritual growth but spiritual growth does not mean improving positional truth or the things we received at salvation.

First, we have the Greek word for grace which is the nominative singular charis, which is the principle behind all of this. Grace is everything that God has done for us without our meriting His favor. Charis is favor that is freely bestowed and so it depends on who and what God is. Without the definite article the word in this case emphasizes the quality of God and thus the character of God who is always the bestower of grace. This focuses attention on the concept that everything depends on who and what God is, nothing depends on us.

Grace is the name of the plan of God, the principle of the plan of God, and the only word that explains the concept that God is perfect and therefore His plan has to be perfect. How can a perfect God design a perfect plan for an imperfect creature? The answer is GRACE!

But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. (Rom 5:15)

Next we have the phrase to you which is the dative plural from the personal pronoun su which is humin, and it includes not only the original recipients but all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. The dative is used as the indirect object to emphasize the ones in whose interest the epistle is written. This epistle is written in your personal interest.

Then the phrase and peace — the conjunction kai plus the noun eirene. It means benefit, welfare, tranquility, and prosperity. In other words, it is simply a synonym for blessing. Here it connotes prosperity. The believer becomes prosperous through the intake of Bible doctrine. It denotes benefit. The believer is benefited by the intake of Bible doctrine. It denotes welfare in the true biblical sense, not in the communist sense! Therefore, the believer’s welfare is directly related to the amount of doctrine that is absorbed into the soul. Also, when you have the prosperity, benefits, and welfare of Bible doctrine you have tranquility. Tranquility of soul is based upon Bible doctrine. So, we have benefits accruing through the daily function of perception and metabolization of doctrine and this is in effect the subject of the epistle.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph 1:2)

The next phrase from God is the preposition apo plus the ablative singular of theou referring to God the Father. God the Father is the source of grace and prosperity. God the Father therefore has a marvelous plan for all believers. Then we have our Father — the ablative of patros plus the pronoun hemon – our. As believers God is our true Father. Never said of any OT saint.

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” (Rom 8:15)

The phrase and our Lord Jesus Christkai kuriou Iesou Christou also in the ablative and refers to the second person in the Trinity and the one by whom we understand God and everything related to God. If there is any key to grace it is in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ — first His incarnation and then His work upon the cross. “Lord” — the ablative of kuriou is used for the deity of Christ.

For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. (Jn 1:17-18)

Next, we have verses 3-14, the longest sentence of connected discourse in any language in history. While the English text has a period at the end of verse 6, the end of verse 12, and the end of verse 14, there are no periods in the Greek. This is all one sentence. This sentence describes the function of the Trinity under the divine plan, operation grace.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlyplaces in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fulness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation — having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory. (Eph 1:3-14)

In this long sentence, where the plan of God is summarized, only the benefits of God are included, suffering, enemies, and spiritual warfare are omitted. These will be included later in the epistle, but in the grand summary God the HS leaves them out.

The reason for this is that while suffering, our enemies, and spiritual warfare are necessary for our application of the spiritual life, the real spiritual life centers completely on our relationship with God. The tests, trials, warfare, sufferings etc. which will be ours in abundance are for God’s glory and to ultimately strengthen our relationship with God. Without a strong, personal, and social relationship with the Trinity we would never be able to handle any suffering or battles. So we could consider our relationship with God to be primary and the things in this world and in the AC that strengthen that relationship to be, while necessary and vital, secondary.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Eph 1:3)

We begin with a verbal adjective eulogetos. This is used only of deity in the New Testament (Lk 1:68). Blessed – eulogetos. This is actually taken from the participle eulogeo (eu = good or well; lego = to speak), which means to praise. As an adjective

eulogetos means “worthy of praise and glorification.” It is a technical word, one of the high words of praise used only for God. This word is going to occur several times in this passage. To be ready to appreciate eulogetos one must have completed at least the first stage of spiritual adulthood, SSE.

At SSE you have capacity for category one love, which is personal love directed toward God. At the point of attaining spiritual self-esteem through metabolized doctrine circulating in your stream of consciousness, certain things come into very strong focus. God begins to become very real in your every day, moment by moment life. At SSE you begin sharing the happiness of God. This begins with contentment, which becomes spiritual capacity for life, love, and happiness in every circumstance of life. This includes your stress, disaster, calamity, and pain which all of us have sooner or later in life. Because of maximum understanding of the ten problem solving devices, you have professionalism.

At SSE [spiritual self-esteem] is the beginning of true humility as the base for the Christian way of life. God is increasing and you are decreasing.

At SSE there is professionalism, which is understanding the mechanics of the Christian way of life (CWL): mechanics related to your very own portfolio of invisible assets, the ten PSD’s [problem-solving devices], and everything God has provided in grace. Professionalism demands integrity. Integrity is the spiritual strength to execute the mechanics you have learned. There must be a perfect coordination and synchronization between these 4: love for God, sharing the happiness of God, humility and professionalism, and under the filling of the HS with all the doctrine accumulated through spiritual childhood and spiritual adolescence this synchronization is flawless. This coordination leads to integrity, which makes you a winner and begins the road of SSE.

The resultant mental stability from the circulation of metabolized doctrine in the stream of consciousness of your soul’s right lobe is characterized by SSE. This is courage, poise, composure marked by self-assurance. This poise means humility, which is the foundation for coordinating professionalism and integrity.

The opposite of professionalism and integrity is emotionalism and occupation with self. Emotionalism and occupation with self is destructive to the soul, whereas professionalism and integrity depends solely on the grace of God for life. Believers who are not at SSE always want to make an issue out of self. They don’t recognize that Jesus Christ controls history and their place in it. They fail when circumstances seem unfair or fail to fit into their preconceived notion of what the CWL is, so everything becomes about them.

Every church is filled with new believers who have not had enough time to reach SSE as well as believers who were once at SSE but have backslided again into adolescence or childhood.

These must be given the privacy to grow in grace and knowledge by the strong believers in the congregation who do not judge but operate under the law of love in the RFHC.

Those who are at SSE can accomplish all of this because of this wonderful word that describes their appreciation of God – He alone is worthy of praise and glorification. Your resultant integrity that leads to victory over all the categories of life causes the believer to appreciate the character and nature of God and that is what euologetos means.

Once you have this capacity you begin to appreciate the fact that the members of the Trinity are worthy of praise and glorification and that the capacity for this comes from what the Father has provided by way of spiritual food. Food is converted into energy in the human body; spiritual food is converted into energy of the soul, the ability to truly appreciate who and what God is. When you realize that people can appreciate who and what God is, this in itself is almost miraculous inasmuch as God is invisible.

God is a great distance away as far as the residence of heaven is concerned, God cannot be understood where spiritual death is concerned and we were born spiritually dead (therefore no fellowship, no relationship, no ability to comprehend God).

Therefore, it is a miracle of grace that we in our souls as believer priests have as the highest function of our priesthood eulogetos the ability to appreciate God. You cannot glorify God or praise God or appreciate God or have capacity to love God apart from Bible doctrine.

Hymn #2

Internet Church Service – November 20, 2022; Happiness Belongs to Those Who Don’t Complain Psalm 144

We are still noting our second Defense Mechanism.

(22) Meet the next Defense Mechanism found in the “Moti Maris of Memphis motherhood manifested by a sexual desire for lust after the opposite sex of the male and female believer.

Solomon thought he was a sexual athlete and none of that caused him to gain any sense of wisdom.

Solomon describes his own failure to wait for his right woman.

So the correct translation says in Ecc 7:29 "Behold, I have found only this, that God has made mankind upright [the human race] but man has sought out many devices.

Our last verse is the Hebrew verse upright which is the Qal imperative of the verb jashar which has the following meanings, upright, just, righteous and right.

Now, there's only one of these definitions which can accurately fit into our translation correctly.......let me show you what I mean!

If the word for man means the human race, man and woman, then the following translation is true.

Ecc 7:29 "Behold, I have found only this, that God has made mankind upright, but they have sought out many devices."

That's not true, you and I were not made upright, we were born in sin........as David said in Psa 51:5.

We know that man and woman have not been made righteous and just and upright by God because we are told that man is born in sin and has a sin nature.

However, God is making man and woman right for each other or right man right woman is a doctrine taught throughout the Bible and therefore it fits under the principle of categorical doctrine.

Psa 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.

Psa 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.

Prin-Sex between right man right woman is a form of recognition of the greatness of God and the greatness of grace. The verb "sought" is the piel perfect of baqash which is biqshuw which means to seek diligently or persistently. Solomon is saying that mankind, men and women, have sought diligently to pervert what God has provided.

Ecc 7:29 "Behold, I have found only this, that God has made man and woman right for each other, but they have sought [a frantic search for happiness] out many devices"

"devices" is the noun chis-ha-bo-nowt meaning perversions or distortions.

This refers to the perversions of God's grace in the design of right man right woman!

When a woman sees her role, her person, her experiences, even the calamities that have impacted her life in the eyes of God objectively and with stability, that person's world comes together....and that woman can handle it.

I love the story of five year old Mike, who saw his dad's car drive in the driveway.....so late the headlights were on!

He met him at the door.

And dad was dragging himself through the doorway.

He was so tired he could hardly make it to the recliner.

He finally slumped down and pulled his tie lose and Mike jumped up on his lap and said...."Hi dad, let's play."

Dad thought, "Oh no!"

He was at a lost to know quite what to do with his five year old son however, he did know that he didn't feel like playing!

He looked over on the table and he saw a newspaper which had on the front page a recent moon shot of the world.

In fact, it was in color....and he thought, “Now here's my chance.”

"Get some scissors Mike!"

Mike went and got some scissors and dad said, "Now look son, we're going to play a game."

So, he starting cutting out the world into about 20 or 30 pieces.

And he shook up the pieces and said; “Here son, figure this out and tape the world all back together and when you get that world all back together come back and we'll play!"

So Mike takes off, 6 minutes later....."I'm back dad, here's the world, let's play!"

"Mike, dad said, how did you do that?"

Mike said, "Well, it was easy daddy, you see on the other side was a large picture of a man's face, and when you get the man put together, the world.......comes together!"

And that is what Solomon is saying in a much wiser way!

"When you put the man together, your world comes together!”

“All we have to do is make ourselves available to the wisdom of God and we will be able to put ourselves together through His grace.”

And God will take care of the world.

“When you put the person together, the world comes together.”

This is why we read in Eph 4:32 “And become kind to one another, compassionate, and forgiving each other, just as God also by means of Christ has forgiven you.”

This is gracious a gracious action toward one another—the interaction of impersonal love among members of the body of Christ as the royal family of God.

This is the capacity for impersonal love for all mankind based on maximum metabolized doctrine circulating in the soul.

“When you forgive someone, you forget it, and move on.”

And you are never motivated by bitterness, implacability, vindictiveness, hatred, or any other reaction to seek revenge.

Solomon became very bitter toward women, who, although they were overtly beautiful to him, were ugly in their soul.

In fact, look at 1Ti 2:9-15 Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments;”

1Ti 2:10 but rather let her beauty be by means of good works, as befits women making a claim to godliness.

The more Bible doctrine that a woman has in her soul, the more beautiful she becomes from the divine viewpoint.

In fact, there is no such thing as true beauty in the woman apart from her having Bible doctrine in the soul.

Overt grooming only complements the inner beauty.

Overt beauty without Bible doctrine becomes a facade for ugliness in the soul.

Therefore, overt beauty is meaningless without inner beauty.

The women in Solomon’s Harem did not have the inner beauty created by Bible doctrine, and because of this, they influenced his soul to turn away from doctrine and to turn toward bitterness.

Solomon had a lot of sex with women who did not have divine viewpoint or doctrine resident in the soul.

By the way, if “the Eight Experiments of Man” says that they believe in God, that does not mean that they have doctrine in their soul.

Even if a man or a woman goes to church habitually, that does not mean that they have doctrine in the soul.

Solomon found out the hard way that women without divine viewpoint are petty, implacable, vindictive, and vicious with their tongues.

In contrast, a woman with divine viewpoint has great inner beauty.

In 1Pe 3:1 In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives,

1Pe 3:2 as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior.

1Pe 3:3 And let not your be merely external braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses;

1Pe 3:4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

1Pe 3:5 For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands.

1Pe 3:6 In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives,

1Pe 3:7 You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

The word adorn means to decorate, to adorn, to make beautiful, and to make attractive.

But, and ladies there is no extra charge for this is, the woman with divine viewpoint who knows how to properly adorn herself with the use of cosmetics can make herself beautiful.

You may have gone around looking like old Raggedy Ann before you were saved, or like a permanent resident of the hippie generation, but your days of sloppiness are over, once you accept and apply the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior.

This means that the female should be dressed as tastefully as possible.

The active voice of the verb kosmeo implies that when women wake up in the morning they can be naturally beautiful, so you must make yourself beautiful.

The infinitive of purpose means that the purpose of adorning yourself is to make yourself beautiful and attractive and to reflect the divine viewpoint you have within.

Kosmeo means that if you have a feature that is not very attractive, cover it, and if you have a feature that is attractive, emphasize it.

This verse also tells us that all Christian women have the potential to be beautiful; however, because of carnality and wickedness, the modern emphasis is placed on overt beauty gimmicks and so-called sex appeal.

Any man with half a brain would not be a sucker for that, yet that is what Solomon sought.

Clothes do not make the woman; the woman’s inner beauty makes the clothes.

You’ll never see a woman with divine viewpoint who doesn’t know how to clothe her body in the proper way.

In fact, there is a relationship between a sloppy spiritual life and a sloppy appearing woman.

And since the woman is commanded to make herself beautiful, it immediately dismisses the fact that women are born beautiful.

No one is born beautiful because no one is born with doctrine resident in the soul.

Parents might be wild about their baby, but that is just emotional appreciation.

A beautiful woman must think divine viewpoint to be beautiful.

There are always some who think that they are ugly and that there is no hope; however, with divine viewpoint there is always hope.

If a woman reaches spiritual maturity, she will radiate with beauty.

The only women who are ugly are those who have mental-attitude hang-ups.

Just make sure that your beauty improvements on the outside are not the result of a lustful soul that wants to see how many men will be interested in you, but rather are the result of doctrine in the soul.

From time to time advertisements on television and in magazines will propagandize you, ladies, telling you what men like. But you must remember, it is not what men like that counts, it’s what the right man likes that counts.

And if you don’t have a right man now, when the right one that God has for you comes around, he’s going to like the way that you are.

So, be careful how you try to improve the situation; be sure that your beauty improvements are from divine viewpoint and not cosmic opinion.

Paul says that same thing in 1Ti 2, that the woman’s adornment be not merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

Overt charm and beauty are meaningless without inner beauty. It is the inner beauty of the royal priesthood and the soul clothed with divine viewpoint that makes the woman attractive.

So, these passages teach that the exterior is useless without the interior of divine viewpoint.

Even if Solomon did have his right woman in his Harem that still means that he had over a thousand in his life who were the wrong women in his life.

In fact, even if he did have his right woman right in front of him, he wouldn’t have had the ability to recognize her.

Remember that this is a man who is writing under the ministry of the Holy Spirit near the end of his life.

Ecclesiastes was written when Solomon was old and disillusioned about life.

He was very miserable and very bitter.

Anyone who reads the great prayer of Solomon when he was dedicating the temple, or some of the great statements he made in his youth when he first became king, would have to recognize that he was a spiritual giant at that time.

Solomon was a man with an edification complex of the soul, and in the early days of his reign, he had the potential to go on to further greatness even as his father, David.

Unfortunately, prosperity was too much for him.

Solomon was apparently so attractive as a male that women were constantly falling for the Eight Experiments of Man.

They became infatuated and enchanted with him.

He was handsome, wealthy, powerful, and wise and a man’s man.

The problem is that he followed his father’s negative footsteps of having more than one wife.

Before Bathsheba, David had many wives and concubines and his love life was categorized as ritual without reality: sex without love.

David only became free from his sexual arrogance and polygamy once he married his right woman, Bathsheba.

Once he and Bathsheba finally got married, he remained faithful to her the rest of his life, and it made a great deal of difference with regard to their children.

In fact, David was a lousy father until he married Bathsheba, and he finally settled down and took care of his children.

The Bible also teaches that women are stupid about men.

The fact that so many women fell for Solomon illustrates female stupidity when it comes to the male.

They liked him because he was handsome, rich, he had power, he had a stunning wardrobe, he was very intelligent, and because his celebrity status as king could advance them in life.

They were attracted to him for all the wrong reasons.

On Solomon’s side he liked women for their overt attraction rather than the beauty of their soul.

For this reason, Solomon was plagued by women.

Let’s continue to look closely at the more of the original language of Ecc 7:26 “And I discovered more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are chains. One who is pleasing to God will escape from her, but the sinner will be captured by her.”

The word heart is out of place and this throws everything off.

The original word order is “haa’ishaah [the woman] asher-hiy’ [who is] matsowdiym [a trap]” so it should be translated “the woman who is a trap.”

Keep in mind that Solomon is speaking from bitterness.

Many of you, men, would never regard a woman as a trap.

In fact, a few of you would love for a woman to track you down and trap you.

However, that’s not what we have here.

When a man finds his right woman, he realizes that she is a grace gift from God and not a trap, as in Pro 18:22 “He who fi nds ishaah fi nds a good thing, And obtains grace from the Lord.”

Notice that this verse doesn’t say he who finds a wife finds a good thing, it says he who finds his ishaah or his right woman, finds a good thing and obtains grace from the Lord.

The corrected translation of Ecc 7:26 so far should read, “And I kept on discovering more bitter than death the woman who is a trap.”

Next, we have the phrase wacharaamiym libaah, which is correctly translated “her heart [or right lobe] is snares or nets.”

All these women wanted to be number one with Solomon, and so you can imagine the tremendous plots and schemes that must have developed.

A thousand women in his household and they all wanted first place, and that’s natural and normal.

However, when you have a thousand women under one roof and they’re all battling for first place; well, there isn’t going to be any peace at home.

Ecc 7:26 “And I kept on discovering more bitter than death the woman who is a trap, and whose heart [right lobe] has snares and nets” [corrected translation].

This doesn’t mean that all women are crafty; it just means that when a thousand women are under one roof and they all want to be number one, they start to do a little manipulating which is called here, snares and nets.

When it says that her heart is snares or nets it refers to the many hunting nets of the woman, which include her physical beauty.

Remember that the body of the woman was originally constructed or built by the Lord Jesus Christ as a grace gift to the man; and therefore, it is legitimate beauty.

However, when the woman uses her body to trap a man, then it is out of the realm of its original design.

Add to this a smart woman who doesn’t depend upon her beauty alone but has enough brains to use her personality as a trap as well.

Others are simply clever, and know how to make a man feel important or wanted by appealing to his ego.

All these things, and many more, that were designed by God to make a woman beautiful, become evil when they are used by the woman to trap a man.

However (and never forget this men!), the more nets that are thrown over you, the more helpless you become.

The more affairs a man has with women, the more he is entangled and ensnared in a trap from the female species.

According to Pr 5:22 “A man’s own perversions will trap him, And he will be bound with chains to the feminine idol” (corrected translation).

Each wrong act of sex becomes another link on the chain or thread on the rope binding the man to the idol called sex, which is an idol that can never satisfy.

Eventually, this idol worship destroys the possibility of a wonderful relationship between a right man and a right woman.

However, if this has happened to you, there is a healing process that can take place in your soul, so that you can recover the ability to recognize the man or woman God has designed for you.

But the Eight Experiments of Man that healing process is going to take lots and lots of positive volition toward doctrine, which corrects your thinking.

Psa 107:20 “He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.”

Jer 30:17 “For I will restore you to health And I will heal you of your wounds,’ declares the Lord.”

Pr 3:8 “Doctrine will be healing to your body, And refreshment to your bones” (corrected translation).

So, any one woman is not a trap, but women in general who are promiscuous and who fornicate with a man, become a trap to him.

A lot of women become man-crazy and throw their nets over the one they are hunting. Although women generally lack discernment about men, they do know how to ensnare a man when they want to.

This is what happened to Solomon after he had heard the proper doctrines that would have saved him from these traps.

This is a very serious warning to all of us.

You can hear the doctrine, and believe that it is true, but if you don’t apply it, it is absolutely useless.

David taught this to his son Solomon in Proverbs chapter 2 and chapter 6.

Pr 2:10 For wisdom [M.D.] will enter your heart, And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;

Pr 2:11 Discretion will guard you, Understanding will watch over you,

Pr 2:12 To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things;

Pr 2:13 From those who leave the paths of uprightness [plan of God], To walk in the ways of darkness [ways of the cosmic system];

Pr 2:14 Who delight in doing evil, And rejoice in the perversity of evil;

Pr 2:15 Whose paths are crooked, And who are devious in their ways;

Pr 2:16 To deliver you from the strange woman, From the adulteress who flatters with her words; [she uses flattery as a net];

Pr 2:17 That leaves the companion of her youth, And forgets the covenant of her God;

Pr 2:18 For her house sinks down to death, And her tracks lead to the dead;

Pr 2:19 None who go to her return again, Nor do they reach the paths of life.

Or in Pr 6:20-26. “My son [David is speaking to Solomon], observe the commandment of your father, And do not forsake the teaching of your mother;

Pr 6:21 Bind them continually on your heart; Tie them around your neck.

Pr 6:22 When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you.

Pr 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life,

Pr 6:24 To keep you from the evil woman, From the smooth tongue of the adulteress.

Pr 6:25 Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her catch you with her eyelids.

Pr 6:26 For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread, And an adulteress hunts for the precious life.

The wrong woman can fake a man right into the grave.

He will go away thinking that she is absolutely wild about him when actually she thinks he’s a nuisance.

She’ll use words to actually make a man feel that he’s the greatest thing in the world when she can’t stand him and can’t wait to get rid of him.

This describes the wrong woman who is male oriented but not grace oriented.

All men have the potential of falling into her trap. The Hebrew word for snares in Ecc 7:26 is mat-sow-diym, which means to be under a curse or to have destructive allurements.

Every wrong woman in your life has destructive allurements.

They may be beautiful, attractive, and scintillating, but these allurements are destructive and not constructive, and the man who falls for them will become a prisoner.

The next phrase, whose hands are chains, is the phrase a-cu-wri-ym --- ja-ad-ey-ha-a, which means her hands are used for the art of caressing.

That’s about the nicest way that this phrase can be defined.

In Solomon’s case, they all wanted to hang on to him and not let go of him.

Each woman probably wanted Solomon to get rid of the rest of the Harem so she could have him to herself.

The right lobe or the heart has snares or destructive allurements, which is the soulish way that the woman traps a man into bed.

The hands are used here for the art of caressing, which aids in tempting the man.

In other words, she knows how to use her hands on the man to arouse him.

She has mastered the fine art of stimulating males, any male.

And therefore, her hands have become chains.

One thing that will destroy a man’s wisdom or the ability to look at life from the divine viewpoint is when in arrogance and stupidity he succumbs to the flattery of a woman who is using him for her own advancement or pleasure.

Look at Pr 7:24 Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, And pay attention to the words of my mouth.

Pr 7:25 Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways, Do not stray into her paths.

Pr 7:26 For many are the victims she has cast down, And numerous are all her slain.

Pr 7:27 Her house is the way to Sheol, Descending to the chambers of death.

Solomon could never say that no one ever told him that’s the way women are.

The next phrase in Ecc 7:26 says, “One who is pleasing to God will escape from her,” is translated correctly.

The only word which needs correction is the word escape, which is the Hebrew verb jim-a-a-leet, which means to be delivered, or to be released or rescued.

This is an awesome thought for the men.

No matter how smart you are, there is always one who can hook you or trap you, and only God can deliver you.

How does God deliver?

He does so through Bible doctrine in the right lobe of the soul.

Bible doctrine in the soul counters the destructive allurements in the right lobe of the wrong woman.

And none of us should think that we’re beyond being a villain or a victim here.

Remember 1Co 10:12, “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” The average man is easily carried away with his own brilliance, his own intelligence, and his so-called irresistibility.

He is especially vulnerable if he’s rich, or a pretty boy, and too many females have given him attention.

All men at some time are just blind and stupid about women.

This blindness and stupidity can only be rectified by Bible doctrine and the resultant humility.

It is Bible doctrine in the soul that protects both the man and the woman when they’re frustrated and about to stop waiting for the right one that God has designed.

The word for sinner in Ecclesiastes 7:26 is the qal active participle of chata meaning one who misses the mark, one who stumbles, one who falls, one who is seduced, or one who suffers loss of something.

Here it is used to describe the reversionistic believer.

Solomon was such a reversionistic believer; and therefore, taken in by inconsequential women.

The phrase “will be captured” is the niphil imperfect of la-kad-h meaning to be captured, to be caught, or to be trapped. So the entire verse looks like this: Ecc 7:26, “And I kept on discovering more bitter than death the woman who is a trap, and whose right lobe has destructive allurements and her hands are chains.

One who is pleasing to God will be delivered from her, but the reversionistic carnal believer will be captured by her.”

In moving on to verse 27 we see what Solomon discovered after having more sex than anyone else.

Ecc 7:27 “Behold, I have discovered this,” says the Preacher [or the man with the message], adding one thing to another to find an explanation,”

What is he adding up?

All the girls with whom he has had sex!

Now, before we look at this verse, let’s look at a quick profile of Solomon.

Solomon was the recipient of fantastic doctrine from his father in Proverbs 2, 5, 6, 7. David spent a lot of time teaching Solomon all of those proverbs that dealt with finding his right woman and protecting him from the wrong woman.

Solomon accepted these things in his youth.

They were a part of his soul structure, but he ended up rejecting these truths after a period of time, and then he went negative toward doctrine.

He went back to the way that the world thinks.

This can happen to any one of us.

You can sit in Bible class night after night and take in the Word of God consistently, and in about two or three months you can revert right back to the way you used to think and the way things used to be.

We are warned of this throughout the scriptures; Isa 29:24 “And those who err in mind will know the truth, And those who criticize will accept instruction.”

Isa 30:1 “Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the Lord, “Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit.

Isa 30:2 Who proceed down to Egypt, Without consulting Me, To take refuge in the safety of Pharaoh, And to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt!

Isa 30:3 "Therefore the safety of Pharaoh will be your shame, And the shelter in the shadow of Egypt, your humiliation.

2Pe 2:22 “It has happened to them according to the true proverb, A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”

In Ecc 7, in his recovery from reversionism, Solomon recalls doctrines, restoring to his soul the truths that he had previously rejected.

His life was almost over, but there are countless generations of people after him who might profit by these things.

Solomon’s father, David, also failed in the field of right man, right woman.

The Eight Experiments of Man and his failures were numerous.

He married many wrong women, and also had affairs with many others, until finally he married his right woman, Bathsheba.

David should have just waited for the timing of God, rather than having her seized and then forcing himself upon her.

But even though he tried to do it on his own,

God still gave Bathsheba to David.

David finally wound up with his right woman.

He recovered from his own reversionism, and became a fantastic believer.

Solomon and Nathan were born to David and Bathsheba, as right man and right woman.

Both Solomon and Nathan received the proper doctrine of right man, right woman.

Unfortunately, Solomon rejected it.

1Ki 11:1 says, “Now King Solomon loved many foreign women along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women.”

The word loved is the Hebrew verb ahab and it is used here in the sense of affairs.

When ahab is used for the right woman, it is the perfect soul and body coalescence of right man with his right woman.

When ahab is used with zarah (foreign women), it is describing an affair.

The Moabites and the Ammonites were known for performing sexually at early ages.

The Sidonians were the wildest women in the world.

They were the original Canaanites and were known for having group sex.

The Hittites were very athletic women.

The point is, Solomon had tried all different kinds of women, and God had warned Solomon about making this mistake: 1Ki 11:2.

Dt 17:14 "When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, and you possess it and live in it, and you say, 'I will set a king over me like all the nations who are around me,'

Dt 17:15 you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses, one from among your countrymen you shall set as king over yourselves; you may not put a foreigner over yourselves who is not your countryman.

Dt 17:16 "Moreover, he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor shall he cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, since the Lord has said to you, 'You shall never again return that way.'

Dt 17:17 "Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself.

The phrase held fast is davoc, which means to cling or cleave in the sphere of love and sex.

It has to do with his many sex acts with these women.

1Ki 11:3 “And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned his heart away [this is the second time reversionism is referred to by the phrase ‘turn your heart away’].”

Reversionism is not turning your body away from the plan of God and Bible doctrine but turning your heart or right lobe away.

Every Sunday, churches are filled with individuals who have fallen away from the Lord in their heart, although they are in attendance physically, but it is the heart that God is after!

It is written in Pr 23:26, “Give me your heart, my son, And let your eyes delight in my ways.”

Solomon married princesses and therefore aristocracy.

On the other hand, his concubines were those who were beautiful, but not aristocrats of their countries; and therefore, he did not marry them.

Since he married seven hundred of them, he apparently courted more in palaces than at the local pubs and taverns.

1Ki 11:4 “For it came about when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods [notice that this is the third time reversionism is mentioned, when he was young verse 3, when he was old verse 4]; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.”

Having a heart devoted to God does not mean sinless perfection.

It simply means that in spite of any failures or sins, you continue to go forward in the plan of God and not let these things stop you.

This passage says that Solomon’s heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

The scriptures testify to David’s devotion to the Lord.

1Ki 4:7-8 “Go, say to Jeroboam, Thus says the Lord God of Israel, Because I exalted you from among the people and made you leader over My people Israel, and tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you.

Yet you have not been like My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart, to do only that which was right in My sight.”

1Ki 15:5 “Because David did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and had not turned aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.”

Ac 13:22 “And after He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testifi ed and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.’

Let’s note quickly Some of the failings of this man who the Bible says kept all of God’s commands and followed God with all his heart to do only that which was right in God’s sight.

The Eight Experiments of Man in 1Sa 21:1-10, David willfully sinned and lied.

The result of his lie was that an entire city was wiped out (city of Nob).

Then he faked madness and made the enemy believe he was crazy, and as a result hundreds died (1 Sa 21:1-15).

In Dt 17:17, the Bible says, “A king shall not multiply wives for himself,” yet we read in 2Sa 5:13, “David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem.”

Then David failed in his responsibility as the King in 2Sa 11:1. He should have led his troops in battle, but he stayed home in Jerusalem instead, and as a result, there was disaster on the battlefield.

There was also disaster on the home front in Jerusalem.

While he was in Jerusalem in 2Sa 11:2-27, he ended up in certain shocking sins. He committed adultery, he got a man drunk, he committed murder, and he willfully lied.

In 2Sa 6:1-13, he did not honor the Word of God. He purposely disobeyed God’s command about the ark. He ignored the Word of God and men were killed as a result.

In 1Ch 21, David rejected the promises of God and even questioned the faithfulness of God by numbering the people. Joab, his chief of staff, warned him about this unbelief, but he did it anyway.

As a result seventy thousand people died.

He also failed to completely forgive his son Absalom. David, who was oriented to grace better than almost anyone in life, failed to use grace with regard to one he loved dearly.

This, my friends, is the story of the man who the Bible says “kept all of God’s commands” and followed God with all his heart to do only that which was right in God’s sight.

He who never turned aside from anything that God commanded him all the days of his life, except in the case of Uriah the Hittite, and did all of God’s will.”

What does this reveal to all of us?

God did not expect Solomon to be perfect; however, he did expect him to have a heart devoted to God.

The same principle applies to all of us as believers. Sadly, Solomon pursued other gods, as do many Christians today, 1Ki 11:5-7 “For Solomon went after Ashtoreth [who by the way is Venus to you and me, the love god] the goddess of the Sidonians [the wild women] and after Milcom the detestable idol of the Ammonites.

This was their Venus and a sex god.

And Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not follow the Lord fully, as David his father had done.

Then Solomon built a high place for chemosh the detestable idol of Moab [this was a fire god where they would take children—especially orphans—off the streets and then just dump them into the fire at the temple], on the mountain which is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech [another fi re god] the detestable idol of the sons of Ammon.”

In fact, the valley where this was located was called Gehenna, which later on became one of the words for hell.

1Ki 11:8-9 “Thus also he did for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods. Now the Lord was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned away [or reverted, the fourth time reversionism is mentioned in this passage] from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,”

The Lord appeared to him twice to warn him of his reversionism.

This gives us some idea as to how Solomon ended up being bitter toward the opposite sex.

Ecc 7:28 “Which I am still seeking but have not found. I have found one man among a thousand, but I have not found a woman among all these.”

Hymn #3

The following link is to a good-news message describing how one can receive eternal life: Ticket to Heaven, it was written for anyone not absolutely certain about of their eternal future.
