Prepare yourself for learning the Word of God!

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge (confess) your sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father).

1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (known sins) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [unknown or forgotten sins]." NKJV (New King James Version) [italics added]; we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.

John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV [italics added]

Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

STUDY TITLE:

The sword of the Spirit, the Word of God manifested in the sayings from the Cross. Part 3.

We are now ready to complete the Seventh and final Saying of our Lord Jesus Christ upon the Cross.

The first saying was found in Luk 23:34, But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” Again, this reveals our Lord’s care for others and not Himself, in spite of what he had gone through and what He was going through.

The second saying was found in Luk 23:43, And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.” Again, this brought out the principle of Others.

The third saying is in John 19:26-27, When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”

John 19:27, Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own {household}. Caring for the apostle John and His mother revealed His message was Others.

The fourth saying was found in Matt 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” He said this for us and therefore He wanted us to understand the principle of others.

The fifth saying, John 19:28, After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”

The sixth saying of the cross can be described by the word Tetelestai, translated it is finished.

John 19:30, When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!”

However, it’s important to note that when the Lord Jesus Christ uttered the words “It is finished” , He revealed the fact that not only salvation was totally complete but also the work of God and the will of God AFTER salvation was totally completed. This is something that I have found that very few others have taught. So this leads us to the seventh and final saying on the Cross which is found in Luk 23:46, And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Thy hands I commit My spirit.” And having said this, He breathed His last.

When the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross, it was voluntary meaning that He did it for us Himself.

In fact, the entire Trinity did it for us as taught in passages like Acts 2:22-23, “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know this {Man}, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put {Him} to death.

Notice is was by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, that He was delivered up. This goes all the way back to Gen 1:26, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness… We were created in the image and in the likeness of God.

And, whether you believe it or not, this is why you have been created. The point is that when the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross, it was voluntary.

John 10:17-18, “For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.”

John 16:7-14, “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgment; concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you no longer behold Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear {them} now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose {it} to you.”

Upon His physical death, our Lord’s human spirit went into the presence of God the Father. His soul went into Hades to a compartment known as Paradise. His body went into the grave to wait for that glorious moment some three days later when the body would be rejoined by the soul and the Spirit. This is what is known as the trichotomous separation.

Therefore, the seventh cry or saying from the Cross was the beginning of the end; and yet in reality the end was a new beginning.

For Jesus Christ would arise from the grave in a resurrection body, walk among men for a short time, then ascend into the presence of the Father to sit at His right hand as our great High Priest and make intercession for us forever (Heb 1:3; 7:25).

I do know this because in 1Co 15:3-10, the apostle Paul said, For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; and last of all, as it were to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. For I am the least of the apostles, who am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

Now, I say all of this to bring up an amazing subject, which is what we call the Victorious Proclamation. Undoubtedly, the most startling event ever to be observed in the angelic realm was the creation of man. Here was an inferior form of creation who, unlike angels, could not travel through space, who was limited in power and vision and who was confined to one small planet, yet this creature was made in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:27).

Gen 1:27-28, And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

By the way, in spite of the fact that angels seem to be a superior creation, we never read that they were made in the image of God, as we are. Therefore, sometimes I wonder who the real superior creation is, angels or humans? Also, why is it that the Lord Jesus Christ became a member of the human race and not the angelic race?

Heb 1:3 really puts it like this from the original language: And He [Jesus Christ] is the radiance [flashing forth–which is a reference to the humanity of Christ being the flashing forth] of His [God the Father’s] glory, and the exact representation of His nature [deity of Christ]; and He upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

That’s when Jesus Christ received His third royal title, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and that’s when the angelic conflict shifted gears into its intensified stage.

Heb 1:4 Having become [meaning Jesus Christ in His humanity] as much better than the angels, as He has inherited an excellent or superior title to theirs [third royal title].” Our Lord became the victor of the angelic conflict as an inferior creature to angels, a member of the human race.

Heb 1:5, “For to which of the angels did He [God the Father] ever say, “You are My Son [deity of Christ], this day I have given birth to You [the humanity of Christ in hypostatic union] ?’ And again [2Sa 7:14], I will be His Father and He will be My Son.”

Which angel did God ever say that to? The answer of course is none. In fact, angels do not call God their Father.

In Heb 1:6, And when He again brings His First born into the world [Second Advent] He says, [from Psa 97:7], let all the angels of God worship Him.” Here we see the so-called higher creation, known as the angels, being told to worship a member of the lower creation, the humanity of Christ. The point is that the work God called Christ to finish is better than the angels and therefore the angels are to worship Him.

We are all in union with Christ. In fact, in Eph 2:6, we are told that we have been raised up with Him, and seated with Him in the heavenly places, We are also told in 2Co 5:17 if we are in Christ, we are new creatures, the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. And as members of the human race, it is said about us that in Rom 6:4, We have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

There are a lot of privileges given to us that are not given to the angels because we are in union with Him. For example, Because we are in union with Christ, we share His: Eternal life,1Jo 5:11-12. Perfect righteousness, 2Co 5:21. Election, Eph 1:4. Destiny, Eph 1:5. Sonship, 2Ti 2:1. Heirship, Rom 8:16 17. Sanctification, 1Co 1:2. Priesthood, Heb 10:10-14. Royalty (Kingship), 2Pe 1:11. Angels do not share that and that is part of the victorious proclamations are Lord announced to the angels after He died and said Father into Your hands I commit My spirit.

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9 says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

Sermon: Dispensation of the Mosaic Law. The Third Commandment.
Do not take the name of the Lord in vain. Part 2.

Exo 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain. “in vain” = lashaaw – “for worthlessness or wickedness,” or “for an evil purpose,” and it also includes false testimony in the name of God in a court of law or in any phase of life.

Exo 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in a worthless way.”

Exo 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God for an evil purpose.”

Exo 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God by swearing in court of law in a worthless way.” = Lying!

The commandment does not have anything to do with exclamations or swear words, and it covers far more than profanity. It refers to claiming God as one’s witness that what one says is true, when in fact it is not.

The Doctrine of Ambassadorship. Point 1. Definition and description. An ambassador is a high ranking minister of state or of royalty sent to another state to represent his sovereign or country that he has come from.

Point 2. The Profile of the Ambassador.

1. An ambassador does not appoint himself. We are appointed by God Himself at the moment we believe in Jesus Christ. God also gives use the power and ability to handle the job.

2. The ambassador does not support himself. The Church-age believer, as an ambassador for Christ, is provided for by logistical grace.

3. The ambassador’s instructions are always in written form, so he has no doubt as to what he should do. We have the policies, problem solving devices, instructions, principles, doctrines, and concepts in written form in the scripture.

4. The ambassador does not belong to the country to which he is sent. Our citizenship and home is in heaven. We are also citizens of a client nation to God.

5. The ambassador does not live in the foreign country for his own personal interest. We live here on earth solely to serve in the interest of our Lord.

6. The ambassador does not treat any insult to himself as personal or most important. This is the royal ambassador’s function in both spiritual self-esteem and impersonal love for all mankind.

7. When an ambassador is recalled, his recall is tantamount to a declaration of war. This is analogous to the Rapture of the church. The Tribulation is analogous to the period of war.

Point 3. The Royal Ambassadorship is Specialized and Intensified in the gift of pastor teacher.

All communication gifts (evangelists, apostles, pastor teachers) become critical and specialized functions of the royal ambassadorship because they communicate spiritual truth.

Prin – One of the responsibilities of the SA or ambassador is a special need for those who communicate doctrine to do so with confidence.

With spiritual self-esteem the communicator speaks with confidence no matter what the attitude of his listeners.

Point 4. The Royal Ambassadorship is Directly Related to the Evangelism of the believer, 2Co 5:20.

We are not to witness through our lifestyle -only-……that’s cowardice.

I say that to those who say “I don’t say I’m a believer, I live like I am one.

Eph 6:19 to pray on his behalf, that utterance [expression, articulation, verbalization] may be given to him in the opening of his mouth, to make known with boldness [confidence] the mystery doctrines of the gospel,

PSA 81:10 “I, the Lord, am your God, Who brought you up from the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.

LUK 6:45 “The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.

MAT 21:16 And He said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babes Thou hast prepared praise for Thyself’?”

Point 5. The Royal Ambassadorship mandates the function of spiritual self esteem and impersonal love, Philemon 9.

Philemon 9 “Yet for love’s sake, I rather appeal to you, since I am such a person as Paul, the ambassador, and now a prisoner of Jesus Christ.”

When your momentum takes you to personal love for God, you now have spiritual self-esteem. And with this spiritual self-esteem comes impersonal love for all mankind.

While personal love for God is the function of our royal priesthood, spiritual self-esteem and impersonal love for man are the function of our Royal ambassadorship.

Every believer, therefore, makes a pulpit out of his circumstances in every area of life.

Your ambassadorship is basically made up of two factors: How you live, and what you say as a result of what you think.

In private, you function under your priesthood;

In public, you function under your ambassadorship.

Point 6. The Royal Ambassadorship is also related to the Angelic Conflict.

Angels observe and rejoice when ambassadors lead others to Christ, Luk 15:3 10.

Fallen angels are organized to resist and oppose your ambassadorship and your growth in grace, Job 1:6, 2:1-3; Eph 6:12.

1Co 4:9 For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.

The isagogic translation would look something like this: 1Co 4:9 “For I think God has exhibited us apostles last of all as men condemned to death [last ones into the coliseum], for we have become an amphitheater to the world, both to angels and to men.”

Eph 3:10 “In order that the manifold wisdom of God might be made known through the church to rulers and authorities in the heavenlies [angels].”

1TI 5:21 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen angels, to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality.

1Pe 1:12 “Things into which angels are watching intently.”

STUDY TITLE:

The sword of the Spirit, the Word of God manifested in the sayings from the Cross. Part 2.

The sword of the Spirit, the Word of God manifested in the Fifth Saying from the Cross.

The Fifth saying on the Cross is found in John 19:28, After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst.”

Our Lord was always concerned with performing the work God had called Him to do and to fulfill the Father’s plan. Again remember what He said in passages like John 4:34, Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.

In John 5:30, “I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”

In John 6:38, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.”

In John 19:30, When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.

The point that I want you to perceive and understand is that in death or in life our Lord’s desire was to fulfill the will of God. If the Lord had not thirsted for us, every one of us would be forever separated from God. And so this fifth saying of Jesus is really His only human expression of His physical suffering.

He thirsts for the love of His Father, who has forsaken Him during this dreadful hour when He must fulfill his mission all alone. And he thirsts for the love and salvation of His people, the human race.

Jesus practiced what He preached.

John 15:12-13, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”

In John 1:11, He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.

The Lord of glory had tabernacled among men, but he was not wanted.

John 1:14, And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

In Isa 53:3, He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

At his birth there was no room in the inn, which foreshadowed the treatment He was to receive at the hands of men.

Luk 2:7, And she gave birth to her first born son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the Inn.

Shortly after His birth Herod sought to slay him, and this intimated the hostility His person evoked and forecast the cross as the climax of man’s enmity. In Matt 2:16 we read Herod murdered all the male children who were in Bethlehem, two years old and under. Again, and again, His enemies attempted His destruction. And now their hateful desires are granted to them. Is it any wonder why He did not say I am tired of all the lies that are being made against Me.

Is it any wonder why He did not say I am tired of fact that the more He did for others, the more He was judged by them. Is it any wonder why stupid deceived individuals who had followed Him and His doctrines would be the very same ones who would listen to gossip about Him and cry out “release to us Barrabas and crucify Him, (the Lord Jesus Christ) instead.

Is it any wonder why we are told in Isa 11:3 that He would not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears heard;…and yet they turned on Him and judged Him as guilty and forsook Him.

Is it any wonder why we are told in John 7:24, “Do not judge according to appearance, and yet they turned on Him and judged Him as guilty and forsook Him.
Is it any wonder why we are also told in Mark 4:24, “Be careful what you listen to,

We are told in Luk 8:18, “Be careful how you listen;…and yet they turned on Him and judged Him as guilty and forsook Him.

For He was never innocent until He had His day in court and was proven to be guilty, but He was guilty without a day in court and the right to face His accusers, and therefore was never presumed to be innocent.

Matt 25:40, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”

Some so-called believers need to 2Co 13:5, Test themselves to see if they are in the faith; examine themselves! You need to ask yourself where you stand in relationship to

1Jo 3:14-16, We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

The very same people who lied about our Lord were the very same ones He prayed for. These lies were from idiots who lied and who were are trying to destroy everything that He stood for…for years. Do you remember what they said about our Lord? They said He was of the devil, that He was an alcoholic, that He hung out with prostitutes. They said that He blasphemed, that He was insane, that He was demon possessed, that He stirs up trouble, and was a cult leader.

By the way, in every case that I just mentioned, “they”, who said these things were religious people.

Ever since Cain killed Abel, religion has been trying to kill the grace oriented believer. This is why the Lord said to the religious leaders in John 8:44, “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own {nature;} for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

Paul said it like this in Gal 4:29, But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also. The point is that these things are hard to bear but the Christian soldier must endure through them. Let me give you some scriptural documentation of everything I just mentioned. Men said in Matt 9:34, that our Lord was of the devil, “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

Ask yourself, if these things were said about me by the majority of people in my life, how would I react? Well, first of all, how did our Lord react? Well, he didn’t, He responded, and there a difference between reacting and responding. Often time people don’t notice the difference between responding to something and reacting to something. The difference between responding versus reacting means a bad situation can becoming worse or a bad situation can become better. Or the opposite can happen.

The choice in behavior can make a good situation bad or a good situation even better. The importance of recognizing the two choices in your life is significant. The act of responding requires one to look at the circumstance, identify the problem or situation, hear what is happening and reflect. That reflection can be for a moment, five seconds, one hour, two days or longer. The time frame doesn’t matter. What matters is that you stopped and put an effort to think and delayed immediate judgment. It is a conscious act and shows that you are willing to listen or observe.

This `gap’ between the circumstance and your behavior is what contributes to gaining a sense of control in your life. Once a person can identify that in responding they actually have a choice in the manner, he or she will start to realize that they are able to make better decisions. The key is that pause. If the situation requires an immediate action, then just take a deep breath first.

This alone can help one gain a semblance of control and make one choose an alternative statement or action that can make a big difference in an outcome of a situation. Reacting on other hand is the absence of this time gap. It is an immediate behavioral response and it is usually based upon emotions and not intellect. Reacting to events, reacting to comments from other people or reacting to sudden situations in an immediate way, can create unpredictable outcomes.

When intellect or logic is bypassed for emotional vengeance, then there is a greater chance that irrationality will take over. Usually when you react you are unprepared and overwhelmed in feeling (i.e. anger, frustration, lust etc.) that your intention becomes strictly one-sided. As a person has an immediate reaction it is unlikely that the person has even considered the other person’s point of view or understanding. Immediately reacting can also mean that the person is not thinking about future consequences. The person is only identifying with his or her immediate emotions and using the emotions as a point of reference.

Now, there are obviously certain times and places for reacting. Humans have this innate biological mechanism for a reason. If you were being attacked for instance, you would want to immediately react for survival. The problem arises when a person can only identify him with situation with emotions and not mindful reasoning and the need to react becomes a constant type of response mechanism. In the extreme sense a person who only uses reaction over responding can become emotionally overwhelmed thus producing hysterical or illogical behavior.

Numerous and ongoing problems can arise for those having no impulse control or the ability to self regulate emotions. The benefit of understanding and identifying both these types of behavior in ourselves is immense for personal growth. For one, this knowledge shows you that you have options and more control over circumstances than you realize. The effect of going through life in a reactive mode ultimately becomes draining, difficult and can even bring about isolation.

Making an effort to respond on other hand helps you establish control. Responding takes a conscious effort and builds mind control. Responding looks at others actions and consequences and provides a more holistic approach to behavior. Responding, not reacting will get you closer to what you want and ultimately who you desire to imitate, the first Adam who is of the flesh, or the Last Adam, Who is from above, our Lord Jesus Christ.

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

Sermon: Dispensation of the Mosaic Law. The Third Commandment.
Do not take the name of the Lord in vain.

“thou shalt not take” should read, “you shall not lift up.”
In the present context, it is used for the lifting up of the voice against God.

The Hebrew for “in vain” means “for worthlessness or wickedness,” or “for an evil purpose,” and includes false testimony in the name of God in a court of law or in any phase of life.

The commandment does not have anything to do with exclamations or swear words, and it covers far more than profanity.

It refers to claiming God as one’s witness that what one says is true, when in fact it is not.

It is true that the prohibition involves not using the name of God to cover a lie, such as, “May God strike me dead”; or, “God is my witness” but it also goes far beyond that.

It also covers the attachment of God’s name to some project or action that someone would like to see undertaken or adopted by claiming that “It is God’s will.”

God’s name is rightly and legitimately used in prayer, praise, thanksgiving, love response toward God on the part of a believer, and doctrinal communication.
What I want you to focus in on is “being who you are,” “being who God made you to be”…….”an ambassador for Christ”….not in vain.

“the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain — it means that the Lord will not acquit or ignore him that takes His name in vain.

Doctrine of Ambassadorship.

Point 1. Definition and description. an ambassador is a high ranking minister of state or of royalty sent to another state to represent his sovereign or country that he has come from.

We are spiritual aristocracy as members of the Royal Family of God, and Christ is the King who has sent us into a foreign country, the cosmic world.

At salvation, every believer enters the royal family of God through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and at the same time he becomes a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ on earth.

Each Church-age believer is royal family of God representing the King of kings and Lord of lords during his time on this earth.

Two commissions are given the believer at salvation: The royal priesthood, which is a part of the equal privilege of election; and the royal ambassadorship, which is a part of the equal privilege of predestination.

Differences of function depends on differences of spiritual gifts, stages of spiritual growth, and how serious the believer takes his calling……however, many do not take it serious enough.

There are many avenues of expressing your ambassadorship, such as utilizing the faith rest drill and virtue-love as a problem solving device with emphasis on spiritual self esteem.

Point 2. The Profile of the Ambassador.

1. An ambassador does not appoint himself.

2. The ambassador does not support himself. The Church-age believer, as an ambassador for Christ, is provided for by logistical grace.

3. The ambassador’s instructions are always in written form, so he has no doubt as to what he should do.

4. The ambassador does not belong to the country to which he is sent.
Our citizenship and home is in heaven.
We are also citizens of a client nation to God.

5. The ambassador does not live in the foreign country for his own personal interest. We live here on earth solely to serve in the interest of our Lord.

We subordinate all personal interest to the function of our ambassadorship, which includes the attainment and function of the spiritual skills, filling of the Spirit, cognition of Bible doctrine, and execution of the PPOG.

Matt 21:16 And He said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babes Thou hast prepared praise for Thyself’?”

With this spiritual self-esteem comes impersonal love for all mankind.

In private, you function under your priesthood;
In public, you function under your ambassadorship.

Point 6. The Royal Ambassadorship is also related to the Angelic Conflict.

Angels observe and rejoice when ambassadors lead others to Christ, Luk 15:3-10.

Fallen angels are organized to resist and oppose your ambassadorship and your growth in grace, Job 1:6, 2:1 3; Eph 6:12.

1Co 4:9 For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle or a theatron] to the world, both to angels and to men.

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." STUDY TITLE:

The sword of the Spirit, the Word of God manifested in the sayings from the Cross.

We have begun the Seven Sayings of the Lord Jesus Christ while on the Cross. The first statement dealt with the word forgiveness for all mankind including His enemies, Luk 23:34. This saying is found in Luk 23:34, where our Lord said about those who were mocking Him and ridiculing Him and His response was “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”

The second Saying dealt with the subject of salvation and caring for others beginning in Luk 23:39-43, And one of the criminals who were hanged {there} was hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!” But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? “And we indeed justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”

Then our Lord’s second statement from the Cross, Luk 23:43 And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

And as I mentioned to you, each one of these sayings on the Cross have a special meaning. The story of the salvation of the dying thief reveals the power of the Lord Jesus Christ to save mankind and His willingness to receive all that come to Him, in spite of their predicament.

The third statement from the Cross is found in John 19:26-27 and it deals with the word compassion and caring for others, no matter what you’re going through.

John 19:26-27, When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own {household}.

Here is a passage which teaches the affection and tenderness that our Lord had for both John and His mother.

Joseph, her husband, was dead, and the lord Jesus Christ had supported her, and now that He was dying what would become of her?

He saw her standing by, and knew her cares and griefs; and He saw John standing nearby, and therefore He confirmed a new relationship between His mother and the apostle John. This shows the affection and care that the Lord showed others while going through the tremendous suffering of the Cross.

Our Lord’s fourth statement which is one of the most famous ones found in Matt 27:46 and deals with His personal anguish and His desire to let us know what He was going through, Matt 27:46.

Matt 27:45-46, Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?”

These words, found in Mat and Mar, as well as in Psa 22: were screamed out over and over again.

In this cry Jesus Christ made it clear that God the Father with whom He had eternal and unbroken fellowship had to break that fellowship at this moment. These words also reveal what our Lord was willing to go through just for us. This is the time when Jesus Christ “bore our sins in his own body on the tree” (1Pe 2:24). This was the unspeakable agony of the Cross, the spiritual death prophesied in Psa 22:1.

The fourth cry indicated that He was being judged for us. God the Father had to pour out His wrath, as a matter of justice, upon God the Son, while the humanity of Jesus Christ bore the sins of the world. This is why the Father had to turn His back upon Him.

And these words were screamed out by the humanity of Christ. Some call this the saddest cry from the Cross.

“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” is a tremendous statement that no man will ever be able to really understand. First of all, the Lord Jesus Christ was accustomed to address God as His Father. If you look at His prayers, you will find Him speaking to God as His Father. However, in this instance, He does not say, “Father;” but “My God, My God.” Was it that He had any doubt about his Sonship? Absolutely not!

He was simply speaking from His humanity and that this is the reason why he cried, “My God, My God,” rather than “My Father.”

As God the Son He would say “My Father.” But in His humanity while being judged for the sins of the world, He cries out “My God, My God.”

Actually this statement shows us how truly human the Lord Jesus Christ was, that He could be forsaken of His God. It is hard for us to comprehend that the Lord being Emmanuel, God with us, and His deity and humanity being permanently united in one person, could have been forsaken by God. This is such a sacred statement that it is one of the only verses which is given in all three languages that the Bible was originally written in. It is given in the Hebrew – Psa 22:1; in Aramaic – Matt 27:46: in Greek Matt 27:46. He was and is the God-man who has been scourged, and spit upon, and Who has died. He is the First and the Last; The Alpha and the Omega.

Rev 1:17-18, And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as a dead man. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades. And yet all the doctrines concerning salvation were made, not only possible, but also sacredly certain in order to complete the redemption of His people.

So it was necessary for Him to be both God’s beloved Son and to be forsaken of his Father. Now, what was this forsaking? This forsaking was something personal to Himself. It was not the God of man to whom He appealed, but “My God, My God.” It was a personal grief that came from a personal cry, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Now, what was this forsaking? Was it physical weakness? Some of you know that when the body is suffering it also can affect the mind. But this is not true in the case of our Lord, because it was not many moments after this that He shouted “with a loud voice,” His victorious “It is finished,” and passed from the conflict of the cross to His coronation. His courageous spirit overcame his physical weakness. And though He was “brought into the dust of death,” and into the deepest intensity of depression in His spirit, yet, still, the cry, “My God, my God,” which also was uttered “with a loud voice,” proves that there was still a considerable amount of mental strength in Him.

So His physical weakness would not account for this agonizing cry. And certainly this cry was not caused by unbelief. Sometimes believers who go through different trials cry out, “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me, but this was not true for our Lord. In fact in Isa 49:14 we read, But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, And the Lord has forgotten me.”

Unbelief often makes us talk about God forgetting us when He does nothing of the kind, but our Lord Jesus Christ was a stranger to unbelief. It was impossible for Him to have any doubt about the faithfulness and lovingkindness of His Father; so His cry did not arise from unbelief. The Lord Jesus Christ made no mistake about this, for God had truly forsaken Him. When He said, “Why have You forsaken me?” he spoke infallible truth. He knew what he was saying, and He was right in what He said, for His Father had forsaken Him for the time. God did forsake His Son, but He loved Him as much when He forsook Him as at any other period. As Isaiah put it Isa 53:10, But the Lord was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,

It is an awful thing for a person in hell to be without God; but, as far as their own consciousness is concerned, they are so hardened that to be without God, they are incapable of knowing the beauty of a relationship with God from whom they are separated forever. But how different was the case of our Lord Jesus Christ when upon the Cross! He knew, as no man could ever know, what separation from God meant. None of us knows the presence of God as Christ knew it. No believer has ever enjoyed the love of God as Christ enjoyed it.

Never did any human being know so much and enjoy so much of the love of God as Christ had done. He had lived in it, and there had never been any interruption to it. He said in John 8:29, “And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” His Father had said Matt 3:17, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

The point is that our Lord Jesus Christ had enjoyed the love of God to the fullest so think what it must have been for Him to lose the conscious enjoyment of it. The love of Christ towards his Father was endless. For the light of His Father’s face to be taken away from Him, was a dark and terrible thing to Him. Also remember, too, the absolute purity of Christ’s nature. In Him there was no sin.

1Jo 3:5, And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.

1Pe 2:22, He committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth;

Think then of the perfectly Holy Son of God, fully agreed with His Father in everything, finding out that the Father had, for good and sufficient reasons, turned away His face from Him. The only solution was this, Jesus Christ was forsaken of God because we deserved to be forsaken of God. He was there, on the Cross, in our place.

Hymn #2

Sermon: The Dispensation of the Mosaic Law. The First and Second Commandments. Part 13. Doctrine of Idolatry.

Point 5. Idolatry and the influence of the Phallic Cult.

Most individuals do not understand the difference between natural desires and lusts.

It’s like Holy Spirit conviction and satanic accusation, they can appear to be the same but they are not, in fact, they are really opposites.

Here is the subtlety and deception of Satan because the Greek word for lust is the noun epithumia, the word itself actually means a strong or an overpowering desire for something or someone.”

Luk 22:15, “I have earnestly desired [and He said epithumia] to eat this passover with you before I suffer”

Notice that the word for “earnestly desired” is the same word that is used elsewhere for lust. It means a driving desire, whether good or bad.

Matt 5:28 But I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust [epithumia] for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Matt 13:17 “For truly I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired [epithumia] to see what you see, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

Most of us do not have the ability or discernment to distinguish the difference between lusts and legitimate desires.

We get condemned at times because we cannot discern the difference between our legitimate desires and our lusts……because there is a fine line between the two of them.

1Co 10:6 Now these things happened as examples for us, that we should not lust [epithumia] for evil things, as they also lusted [epithumia].

1Ti 3:1 It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to [epithumia] the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.

Jam 4:2 You lust [epithumia] and do not have; so you commit murder [1Jo 3;15 Everyone who hates his fellow believer is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life alive in them him].

Please notice that in all these passages “epithumia” can mean lust or desire depending on not just “what” it is directed towards but “how” it is directed toward those things.

The kingdom of darkness appeals to the needs of people to get them away from the PPOG for their life by making them question their faith because they have these legitimate desires that the world [cosmic system] has perverted and distorted into lusts.

Ecc 3:11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set the desires for eternity or eternal things in their heart.

Rom 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible attributes and His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made [creation], so that they are without excuse.

It is true that lust can mean lasciviousness or an illicit, uncontrolled, overwhelming desire which originates from the old sin nature.

Today when we think of lust we always seem to associate it with something evil.

The overmastering and overpowering desires of most people are evil.

There is a difference between the legitimate desires and needs that a person has and the different lusts that are destroying many individuals inwardly.

Col 3:5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body [such as your eyes, ears, feet, hands, etc.] as dead to immorality in context the Greek noun for immorality is porneis which refers to sexual activity outside of marriage] impurity [abnormal sexual activity], passion [abnormal sex lust], and greed, evil desire [an illicit, uncontrolled, overwhelming desire for sex], and greed [an insatiable appetite or craving for sexual activity],

All of these sexual sins are said to keep on amounting to idolatry or the worship of idols or demons.

One of the main reasons why the apostle Paul said that involvement in these different forms of sexual sins was a form of worship toward idols or demons is simply because Satan knows the human race better than we do.

Most individuals do not understand the difference between natural desires and lusts.

The natural instincts in all of us, such as hunger, sex, survival, self-defense are not wrong in themselves.

All the natural instincts that belong to our human nature are, in and of themselves, not only “not” bad, but good.

The point is that there is nothing wrong with natural instincts…..so stop blaming or condemning yourself for having them alive in you.

It is a healthy thing to have them and not squash them with asceticism or denial.

It is God who has put these natural instincts into man….including the instinct for sex and a need to be loved.

One of those main instincts is the desire to be loved, needed, held, appreciated, and when it’s right, sexual encounters…..which Satan has perverted because even knows it is one of the main differences between his race and ours.

God made man perfect, and a part of that perfection appears in the fact that our various instincts and powers and propensities were put in such an order and peculiar arrangement in us so that they are all meant to minister to our good and our enjoyment in life.

These instincts, which are mainly in man’s body, were meant to be under the “control” of our mind.

God’s will was that man should have dominion and control over his “natural” instincts.

The mind alone is not enough, God also gave man a conscience which is higher than the mind and gives instructions to the mind and then, hopefully, the heart.

Man being made in the image of God, the conscience was meant in turn to be controlled by God Himself, John 1:9.

There have been some foolish people in the church who have said that sex is sinful = why celibacy is advocated by the Roman church and others.

To say so is to say that “God” put evil into man.

At the same time, however, we are all aware that all our instincts must be in their right place which means that they must be governed and controlled by the mind and heart.

Here is the tragedy of the whole cosmic system; that the order has been reversed and that mankind is being governed by his instincts instead of governing his instincts.

When the “instincts” get out of control they become lusts.

When that which is meant to be under control takes charge and governs the life, there is chaos….and that is exactly what is meant by lusts.

Prin-Lust simply means that an affection or an instinct is taking charge of us and governing us.

It just simply means that our feelings and emotions are just out of order.
The mind is being silenced.
The conscience is being ignored.
The state of man is one of chaos and confusion.

The Bible calls this….”inordinate or unnatural affection.”

Prin-There is nothing wrong with the affections implanted in man but the affections must never become inordinate or unnatural.

Desire —- what is it, where does it come from?

Gen 3:6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

Gen 3:16 To the woman He said, “I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you shall bring forth children; Yet your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”

Deut 14:26 “And you may spend the money for whatever your heart desires, for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household.

Psa 19:9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.

PSA 19:10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

Psa 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Prin-The Lord will give us the desires of our heart to reveal to us that meeting those desires will not satisfy what we really desire and need.

A woman is like a cat; chase her and she will run – sit still and ignore her and she’ll come purring at your feet.

Evil desires everywhere are “in control” while “reason and understanding” have been pushed aside.

The decay and the steady movement toward destruction is simply the dominance of lust controlling the individual.

Answer = the idolatry of his lusts.

Eph 4:22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit.

The lusts in turn manipulate the man.
