Prepare yourself for learning the Word of God!

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge (confess) your sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father).

1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (known sins) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [unknown or forgotten sins]." NKJV (New King James Version) [italics added]; we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.

John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV [italics added]

Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

STUDY TITLE:

Being a soldier for the Word of God. Part 11.

Being a soldier for the Word of God. Part 11.

Last time I spoke we established the fact that when it comes to spiritual warfare and the art of war that the Christian soldier does not lead a normal life. Remember the very important words of the apostle Paul who said:

2Ti 2:1-4, You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

The ministry that all of us are called to is not a normal life. What we really need to note is the Divine perspective and the positive outlook of the believer in time of suffering. How the curse can be turned into a blessing. Affliction into prosperity. Disaster into success. Tragedy into mastery. Catastrophe into devotion. The divine perspective and the positive outlook of the believer responding to that perspective will totally change the personal suffering the believer goes through. Notice that I said that your mental attitude will totally change the personal suffering although the suffering itself may not change at all.

Adversity plays a major role in our life and that is because suffer¬ing is like a parent. Suffering saps our human resources and confronts us with our total dependence upon the grace of God. And that’s a good thing, that’s a positive thing. Grace is a good thing, God’s power is a powerful thing.

This is why Paul could say in that graceful and powerful verse 2Co 12:9-10 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore, I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

If you have the divine perspective resulting in the positive outlook in time of suffering you will recognize your need for God. Pain and suffering not only discourages us from going in the wrong direction, but it can also help to drive us in the right direction.

Psa 119:50, This is my comfort in my affliction, That Thy word has revived me.

PS + DP + PRB = R of BD

Personal Suffering + Divine Perspective + Positive Response of the Believer = Revival of Doctrine.

The result is something so short, yet, so rich. Suffering is designed for our good and for God’s glorification: He is glorified by sustaining and blessing us in any situation, whether prosperity or adversity. It is for His own glory, and that’s why in the midst of hardships and disasters of life God promises, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.” (Jos 1:5; Heb 13:5).

Psa 55:22, Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Rather than eliminating suffering from our lives, He gives us far greater benefits by walking with us even “through the valley of the shadow of death.” (Psa 23:4).

We have studied many times the principle that as we grow spiritually, every stage of spiritual growth is accompanied by some form of suffering. These categories of suffering are reserved for spiritual adults:

Providential Preventive Suffering keeps the believer from distorting his new found spiritual self-esteem into arrogance. And in the wisdom of God when you pass this test it motivates the first stage of spiritual self-esteem into the second stage spiritual autonomy or independence. This is when Gal 4:19 is fulfilled, My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you. The key word is the word “formed” in you.

The second test is what we call momentum testing (call it what you want) accelerates the believer’s spiritual advance, carrying him from spiritual autonomy or spiritual independence into spiritual maturity.

This is fulfilled in passages like Eph 3:17, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

Then the third test is what we call Evidence Testing which demonstrates the efficacy of God’s grace in the life of the spiritually mature believer and culminates in maximum glorification of God. Fulfilled in such passages as Phil 1:20-21, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I shall not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ shall even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

These three categories of undeserved suffering are specialized provisions of God’s grace. Their purpose is the continued spiritual growth of a believer who has faithfully adhered to the divine protocol or the PPOG. Sadly, in any generation relatively few Christians obey the divine mandates and utilize His marvelous grace assets.

Few ever reach spiritual adulthood. Easily distracted from their true destiny as members of the royal family of God, most believers lack the positive volition, the humility, the consistency to stick with the PPOG. Not many believers will ever face suffering for blessing. Hardly any will enjoy the benefits of experiencing God’s grace in action under extreme duress. If you have not learned a great deal of Bible doctrine, you have no right to assume that the pressures in your life are suffering for blessing.

If, however, you have inculcated your soul with God’s thinking, you can anticipate a challenging, stimulating life of special grace from God in adversity and in prosperity. For some strange reason, most believers seem to forget.

Isa 55:8, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.

We always seem to think that suffering is something that’s negative rather than a promotion of something that is positive. We should be looking upon it from the divine perspective and the positive outlook of the believer found in passages such as 2Co 4:17, that this momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,

Why?

2Co 4:18, Because we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

This suffering can occur while you are on your way to a certain stage of spiritual growth and when you arrive at a certain stage.

The divine perspective and the positive outlook of the believer in time of suffering is Rom 8:18, For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Therefore, if this suffering can occur while you’re on your way to a certain stage of spiritual growth and when you arrive at a certain stage, then; why would you look at it in anyway but positive? This makes sense for us concerning a lot of passages such as Acts 5:41, when the early church was going through the beginning of persecution.

Acts 5:41, So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.

So therefore, if this suffering can occur while you’re on your way to a certain stage of spiritual growth and when you arrive at a certain stage, then; Why would you look at it in anyway but positive?

Each stage of spiritual growth contains divine assets that may be used to solve par¬ticular problems that cause or accompany the suffering. These assets are designed for the believer to learn ultimately what it means to go it alone with God. In fact, we all need to have that experience of going through struggles in life alone with God. This is a part of becoming spiritually self-sustained.

2Ch 32:31, God left Hezekiah “Alone to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart.”

John 8:9, it wasn’t until the woman caught in adultery was left alone with the Lord that she was set free.

The Lord even had to go through this in John 16:32, “Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.”

To be left alone with God is the only true way of arriving at an accurate knowledge of ourselves and our ways. And no matter what we may think about ourselves, or what others may think about us. The real question is what does God think about us? The answer to this question can only be learned when we are left alone with Him. By that I mean examining our own lives in light of Bible doctrine.

This is one of the things that David said in Psa 26:2 Examine me, O Lord, and try me; Test my mind and my heart.

Jer 12:3 But Thou knowest me, O Lord; Thou seest me; And Thou dost examine my heart’s attitude toward Thee.

2Co 13:5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!

When a believer objectively examines his own life according to doctrine, he is alone with God and he begins to see the divine perspective and develops a positive outlook in time of suffering.

To develop the divine perspective and a positive outlook in time of suffering, we all need to have that experience of going through struggles in life alone with God.

And when a believer has the divine perspective and a positive outlook in time of suffering the principle is that there are times that we are apparently unsuccessful but in reality, we are really most successful.

It’s just that according to the world, it looks like we have been defeated when in reality we have been promoted. The point is that we may not obtain the very thing we seek after at the time, but the spiritual strength we acquire in the effort may be infinitely more important than the thing itself.

The Gideon syndrome. What is the Gideon syndrome?

Rom 15:4, For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

1Co 10:11, Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

Suffering has been designed by God to cause us to obtain the very spiritual strength we need not the very thing we seek after. The spiritual strength we acquire through suffering, especially in undeserved suffering is one truly brings glory to God.

How important is understanding the divine perspective and the positive outlook of the believer in time of suffering? It is extremely important for when the apostle Paul speaks of what has been graciously given to us for our own benefit, he speaks of two things:

Salvation
Suffering

Phil 1:29, For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

We don’t have the time in the short time we have together to exegete each word so we will just note the key words to this passage in Phil 1:29 For to you it has been granted. The key word here is the verb translated has been granted, which is the aor-pass-ind from charizomai which means to be graciously given, to give without strings, to give freely as a favor from God.

The constantive aorist tense here gathers into one entirety the action of the verb, meaning the Philippians Church is filled with believers who have reached that point of time where they are ready for the ultimate goal of the spiritual life. It is the passive voice that I want you to be occupied with because it says that the believers receive the action of the verb. And the indicative mood is declarative for an absolute fact that these people are under these conditions because of their spiritual growth.

to believe in him is the pres-act-inf of pisteuo which is pisteuein which is a reference to salvation and it is correctly translated.

but also is the Greek phrase alla kai, a very strong adversative conjunction setting up a contrast between being saved and going all the way to spiritual maturity.

And then we have the phrase to suffer for His sake which is to huper autou and then the pres-act-inf of pascho which is paschein referring to suffering, basically suffering for blessing. It means to endure evil, to have tribulation, to bear or endure suffering and hardship. You will never reach spiritual maturity unless you face a certain amount of undeserved suffering and don’t complain about it. It means when you are in no man’s land spiritually, all alone with God, you’re going to have pressures and undeserved suffering. This is the suffering that gives you that final thrust to reach God’s goal for you life.

God’s goal for your life – to give you His highest and best.

God’s goal for your life – Glorify Him in the Angelic Conflict.

God’s goal for your life – Grow in His grace and knowledge.

God’s goal for your life – To be able to say to you, Matt 25:21, Well done, good and faithful servant.

The divine perspective and the positive outlook of the believer in time of suffering is to break down the cleverness and strength and self-confi¬dence and self-sufficiency that most of us use to overcome others.

When we see suffering from the divine perspective and develop a positive outlook toward that suffering, we see God breaking our human strength and smashing our human wisdom in order to bestow upon us His divine strength and divine wisdom.

For many believers, there are times when God intervenes between us and our greatly desired goals which we have been seeking to attain and counting upon as we place all of our human efforts into it. In fact, the expectation of accomplishing these goals or possessions have determined our decisions and even shaped our life in a dramatic way. In some cases, it even seems as if God has been encouraging us to achieve these goals.

Many times, the reason is that God wishes us to be in such a state of mind that we shall receive everything that we need as His gift so that it becomes ours totally by the power and the grace of God.

So that 1Co 1:29, that no man should boast before God

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9 says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins].” NKJV (New King James Version)

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

The Doctrine of Warfare. Part 2.
There will always be war until the Lord comes back.

1. We had the concept of Privacy and Private Property.

2. The importance of the concept of Right Man and Right Woman and thirdly the family, Divine Institutions #2 and #3, Marriage and Family, are protected by the principles in the Decalogue.

3. Divine institution of nationalism and the doctrine of the military and warfare.

In spite of man’s efforts for peace throughout the ages, warfare will exist until the Millennium (1,000 literal years), Matt 24:4-7.

Nationalism = having a strong military PREVENTS WAR and PROTECTS divine establishments.

All freedom comes ONE WAY = through military victory.

1. The spiritual factor of Bible doctrine in the soul, prayer, and the grace of God. Neh 4:8-9.

2. The second factor that protects a nation is military preparedness, Neh 4:8-9, 13-15.

Prin- Freedom, prosperity, and life are sacred under the laws of divine establishment and must be fought for in order to be protected.

Failure of society; Lack of physical and mental training; No respect for authority; Lack of courage; No self-discipline; The trading of security for freedom.

Failure to fight for freedom means slavery.

What normally happens first is that society begins to diminish and then the nation begins to have a civil war or a war within the states involved.

Social degeneration is always characterized by disdain of the military and police.

One military leader (Publius Flavius Vegetius Renatus) said; “Victory depends on training, not numbers.”

Heb 11:34 They quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.

Under the laws of divine establishment, all national freedom and security comes through military victory.

The book of Jeremiah teaches that Jewish military failure in 586 B.C. was attributed to the spiritual and moral decline of the people.

The Lord fought for Israel at the Red Sea, Exo 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”

As God, the Lord cannot sin; Hab 1:13, therefore, we must conclude that if the Lord fought, then WAR is not sinful.

The Hebrew phrase Adonai sabaoth MEANS “the Lord of the armies,” is the title for our Lord Jesus Christ as the Protector of Israel.

This is His title as Commander and Chief of the angelic army, Jos 5:13-6:2; Zec 14:3-4.

The concept of Christ as a warrior will continue until the Armageddon campaign, Zex 1-4.

Notice that it is the Lord Who will fight those great nations at that time.

The Lord Jesus Christ also delivered Israel and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in 701 B.C.; Isa 37:36.

At Armageddon in Rev 19:11-15, He will break his own record.

Because just war is always righteous!

Rev 19 is talking about the war of Armageddon! At this time there will be maximum slaughter by TLJC, Joe 2:20; Eze 39:11-13 describes the stench.

Our Lord is a Warrior and uses legitimate force rather than violence, which is evil.

Let’s look at what the Bible says about the principle of universal military training.

In Num 1:2-3, Jesus Christ commanded a census be taken so they would know who was able to go to war. The book of Numbers deals with the mobilization and war plans of Israel.

Universal military training demands total national conscription (ENLISTMENT), Num 1:2-3.

Deut 24:5 when a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out with the army, nor be charged with any duty; he shall be free at home one year and shall give happiness to his wife.

Each generation must be trained in war, Judges 3:1-2.

Jdg 3:1 Now these are the nations which the Lord left, to test Israel by them ({that is,} all who had not experienced any of the wars of Canaan;

Jdg 3:2 Only in order that the generations of the sons of Israel might be taught war, those who had not experienced it formerly).

Luk 14:31, “What king or ruler of a nation, when he advances to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and take counsel whether he is strong enough with 10,000 men to attack the one coming against him with 20,000 men?”

Therefore true motivation for military training comes from God Himself.

2Sa 22:35, “He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.”

Psa 144:1 “Blessed be the Lord my rock who trains my hands for war and my finger for battle.”

STUDY TITLE:

Being a soldier for the Word of God. Part 10. Joshua the Soldier.

Being a soldier for the Word of God. Part 10. Joshua the Soldier.

Similarities of being a soldier and the Art of War. Joshua the Soldier.
What we have seen in our study of men like Joshua, David and Gideon is a strong reliance on two major weapons, faith and the Word of God. In the Church-age we have two major power options at work, doctrine resident in the soul and filling of the Holy Spirit. Along with a personal sense of destiny, a personal love for God the Father and you have the majority of the weapons these and other Biblical heroes utilized. Weapons of our warfare all come from doctrinal principles we gain by being obedient to the teaching of truth.

Filling of Holy Spirit, Faith Rest, Personal Sense of Destiny, Personal love for God, Bible doctrine resident in the soul are lethal weapons of war for the Christian Soldier. One major problem believers have is the lack of a lasting commitment and dedication to go the distance.

This all revolves around faith. It will be faith that determines the distance you go in the Angelic warfare. If your faith is strong toward any object/person you have a sense of commitment to it…and boldness is one result.

Boldness in battle is born from faith in a cause greater than self [analogies to Army Private to Captain; Mike Rose, medic in Vietnam war who received the Metal of Honor by Trump in Oct 2017]. Those soldiers that have died overseas for this country were committed and had faith in one another…Faith that their training would prevail, faith that the unit was strong enough to endure, and most importantly…faith in the fellow soldiers or their brothers in arms.

When our faith is in the cosmic system or unreliable people we are foolish. We are weak minded no matter how strong a front we may put on. Our faith can only be as strong as the object we put it upon. If it is in flawed creatures, if it is uncertain outcomes, then we have built a house on the weak foundation.

Hab 2:4, Behold as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; But the righteous will live by his faith. This is reference to God being active within the soul of a person.

This was Old Testament so we know the Holy Spirit was not within them, so no mention of the spirit in this verse, but God would influence the thinking and soul structure of mankind in ancient times. God has always been working in and around the lives of human and angelic population since He created us. But the proud, arrogant person has no comfort with God, no guidance from God the Holy Spirit. That’s what this scripture in Habakkuk is pointing out.

It is not God ever lacking in giving us faith or that God has a problem with faith…grace and faith flow from God with abundance, if we are willing to accept it and have the capacity for it.
Psa 146:6, Who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; Who keeps faith forever?

God created faith. You know what God has a monopoly on grace and faith…He has a monopoly on virtue love… [impersonal love for all mankind].

You want some of it? It’s free, just a little effort and positive attitude on your part!
How powerful is faith?

It wipes away all sin, it gives courage to the meek! Faith is a weapon of spiritual warfare.
What does Jesus Christ think about faith?

Mark 2:5, And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, Son, your sins are forgiven.

Luke 5:20, Seeing their faith, He said, friend, your sins are forgiven.
Faith is like the grenade launcher in your arsenal…better than just bullets!
It is through the positive thought of faith that saves us, not works, not anything that would cause us to boast.

Luke 7:50, And He said to the woman, your faith has saved you; go in peace.

Rom 4:13, For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Every soldier we have seen in our study who went AWOL, from Gideon’s crew, through David brothers, right up until this study on Joshua and the Exodus generation have at least one thing in common: Lack of faith.

We all have had times in our lives when God has touched us concerning a rescue mission. He has been the anchor for many of us during difficult family problems. He has been the hero who pushed you away from the oncoming train wreck in your life. He has been the healing hand during illness in your life. He has been the intervention you needed during personal struggles in your life.

We are sometimes just like that Exodus generation who were stiff necked and stubborn. Each person needs to evaluate themselves. How we responded is all about our own volition. But I venture to say that God has come through even when we were faithless.

2Ti 2:13, If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
This connotes the born-again believers because the Trinity is dwelling within us. Faith is a muscle…if it is not exercised it will get flabby and useless.

What did God tell Joshua concerning His plan to take Jericho?

Don’t look left, don’t look right…Be courageous and strong (3 times).
You can’t be on the fence or lukewarm within your MA concerning warfare.

Rev 3:15-16, I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.

This really states that it’s easy to have a cold unbelieving person to deal with because with one simple thought they can become born again and saved. And with someone who is hot, meaning truly interested and committed to the word of God it’s easy to use them in God’s plan.

But that person who is born again and saved and on the fence struggling between the cosmic system and the PPOG it is disgusting to God. This is using an Anthropopathism because God does not get disgusted. But this scripture shows God utterly sickened over the lukewarm believer. Disgust is not a human characteristic God would have, but ask yourselves why is He inspiring John to write it here? This shows God truly becoming ill over the fact that His children are indifferent toward Him. That is a serious matter. This is a situation we choose for ourselves.

Looking back upon the thousands that scattered from Gideon, and especially the ones who were brought to the water and drank carelessly. To looking at the soldiers afraid of Goliath, to King Saul and David’s brothers, right up to Joshua and the spies and many in the Exodus generation. It all points to lukewarm believers or worse cosmic believers.

Before Satan began spouting off the five I wills, he probably had several hundred years of negative thoughts floating around in his soul. Eventually the negative thoughts bring you to a place of lukewarm feelings and lukewarm thoughts toward your heavenly Father. It happens on jobs and in relationships, lukewarm thoughts occur long before the lips begin to spit venom out.

Once the lips start operating in the negative it is already in motion, the action is on the way!
Lack of faith and negative mental attitude toward truth bring on the graphic description by God in Rev 3:16. In fact in almost every set of circumstances we have studied concerning David, Gideon and now Joshua we see examples of believers who became lukewarm at some point. I’m not talking about falling down once and awhile, or stepping away from the plan of God for a few weeks, but peeling away from truth so far that it eventually causes them to become AWOL.

Your negativity toward truth, toward authority or toward anything in life began with some thought of discontent. I’m not happy with this person, this place or what God has given me. Implacability will set into your soul after a long period of time with this mental attitude.

2Co 10:5, We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
What we realize is the world and Satan’s schemes are more appealing to some believers than their relationship with God. You once put your faith in the Cross of Jesus Christ and in fact you got eternal security because of it, now you go back to the filth, the lie. You go back to the one who truly hates God the Father, who betrayed Jesus Christ as His personal bodyguard and the one who attacks the Holy Spirit consistently.

The cosmic system seems overwhelming as far as weapons and schemes pitted against believers, like giants against a tiny foe. But God’s arsenal doesn’t need to be piled sky high or appear bigger or better than anyone else’s. In fact, His battle plan and the men who He used to implement it appeared less than any others around them. Our weapons are not fleshly! The warfare isn’t in the flesh, we find no power or victory in flesh. 2Cor 10:4-5.

We have got to get our eyes off self…eyes off the flesh of others and be more in tune to a cosmic system operating around us in the supernatural realm. Paul was dealing with backsliding believers who were implacable [impossible to satisfy] about doctrinal teaching. They didn’t find anything in his style of teaching that suited them…his face to face was too meager or his voice too squeaky. They thought his letters were strong, but his presence was weak. So what Paul gets into is really the mental attitude needed to move forward in the PPOG.

2Co 10:4-5, for weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

The weapons that are not of the flesh refer to any form of flesh, meaning designed by human hands or held in human hands, so they are supernatural divine in nature. In fact the Greek noun here for destruction is a feminine noun Kathairesis,. This word is only used a few times in the N.T. Each time it is used it is receiving action from Divine authority. It speaks on demolition that only the Lord can do through a believer.

What is the common thread we saw with all the Biblical hero’s we have been looking at? Faith during times of adversity…mental stability because of that strong faith. Faith that turns average, weak men into courageous, warriors in the face of giants. Faith that stabilizes the mind, because the object of that faith is deeply entrenched into their soul structure. Gideon, David and Joshua had personal, intimate relationships with God. They took the doctrinal lessons and words of truth and digested them deep within their soul structure, so it became part of their norms and standards, who and what they are.

When problems arose, and challenges stood out in the valley ahead of them, God went out first, because He was designated to take control and solve the issue in eternity past. They recognized their position in God’s plan, they realized His way, His path, His words were the only road to victory. A teenage Shepherd, a poor farm boy and a slave from Egypt took on the armies of the Kingdom of Darkness. 1Cor 1:27 the weak will shame the strong.

Why we always think that we are not capable of doing what a farm boy or slave or shepherd did in the O.T. is beyond me, but I know we all look at these guys as supernatural and they were but only because of the doctrine they applied. Because of the faith that they had. The opposite of faith is fear, they are polar opposite!

1Cor 1:27-29, but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God.

When you realize that God is not going to let you get the credit and it’s all on Him to supply what you need. You simply remain positive, you run the race and compete to the best of your ability. You have that intimate relationship with God…you realize that with grace and freedom comes responsibility and accountability but ultimately it will be God who brings the victory to you, not you bringing the victory to God!

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video.

Part 1. Legitimate War.

The Mosaic Law was the divine standard that God used to demonstrate the sinfulness of the human race as well as his principles of establishment.

The Mosaic Law is divided into three parts which all have a different meaning for the individuals it was given to – the Law is divided into three general categories —- Theologically = Codex #1; Codex #2; Codex #3.

Codex I is the Ten commandments, or the Decalogue also known as the freedom code; the Decalogue or Ten Commandments. 2. Codex II – Spiritual Code; which includes the complete shadow presentation of Christ and His saving work. 3. Codex III – Establishment Code; civil statues of Israel.

The first five commandments declare the principle of spirituality or the possibility of establishing a relationship with God; the last five apply to man’s relationship toward his fellow man.

1. We had the concept of Privacy and Private Property.

2. There is the importance of the concept of Right Man and Right Woman. Divine Institutions #2 and #3, Marriage and Family, are protected by the principles in the Decalogue.

The pattern of the right man for the right woman was established at the creation of man, Gen 2:21-25.

Adam didn’t have a father and a mother, neither did his wife. So why put father and mother in? Because this passage establishes precedent.

Under the first mention principle, when you establish a first doctrinal principle called a precedent, it is to show that this is a firm established principle from the beginning of time to the end of human history.

Gen 2:24 For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother is because one of the greatest dangers to marriage is interference from parents.

Marital problems are no one else’s business except those involved in the marriage.

The Hebrew word for naked `arowm (aw-rome’); meaning that they were totally transparent with one another, no secrets but just intimacy.

Prov 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.

Ecc 9:9 Enjoy life with the woman whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life, and in your toil in which you have labored under the sun.

1Co 7:17 Only, as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each, in this manner let him walk. And thus I direct in all the churches.

Sometimes this interference comes from family members, sometimes it comes from friends or people who have no right to stick their nose into the marital affairs of others.

1. Your Freedom

2. Your choice in the opposite Sex

3. Your responsibility as a parent.

What does the Bible say about WAR!

In spite of man’s efforts for peace throughout the ages, warfare will exist until the Millennium (1,000 literal years), Matt 24:4-7.

Isa 2:4 Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and never again will they learn war.

Just as TLJC made perfect peace with God at His First Advent, so He will provide the basis for no more war at his Second Advent.

War is used by God to kill off the leaches of society; in reality it is a cleansing agent.

Ecc 3:8 “There is a time for war, and there is a time for peace.”

There is a book of wars that comes directly from the Lord. Num 21:14 Therefore it is said in the Book of the Wars of the Lord, what He did in the Red Sea, and in the brooks of Arnon.

The misnomer OR MISUNDERSTANDING of war is found in the word “sword” in Matt 26:52, “for all who draw the sword shall perish by the sword.”

Here, the sword in this passage refers to crime and capital punishment.

TLJC rebuked him and said that all those who draw the sword as a criminal in civil disobedience shall perish by the sword as a criminal of civil disobedience.

The sword also refers to capital punishment in Rom 13:4 for it (government) is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil.

Gen 9:6 = the first statement of capital punishment.

There is a difference between the sword as a criminal and the honor of fighting for your country as a military soldier.

Divine institution #4 = Nationalism = that is what our present administration seems to believe and that is that a strong military PREVENTS WAR and PROTECTS divine establishment.

All freedom comes ONE WAY = through military victory.

1. The spiritual factor of Bible doctrine in the soul, prayer, and the grace of God. Neh 4:8-9.

2 The second factor that protects a nation is military preparedness, Neh 4:8-9, 13 15.

3. The spiritually mature believer. 2. Military preparedness. Prin- Freedom, prosperity, and life are sacred under the laws of divine establishment and must be fought for in order to be protected.

Failure of society; Lack of physical and mental training; No respect for authority; Lack of courage; No self-discipline; And the trading of security for freedom.

Failure to fight for freedom means slavery.

First of all, the Lord fought for Israel at the Red Sea, Exo 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”

The concept of Christ as a warrior will continue until the Armageddon campaign, Zec 1 4.

It is the Lord Who will fight those great nations at that time.

The Lord Jesus Christ also delivered Israel and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in 701 B.C.; Isa 37:36.

At Armageddon in Rev 19:11-15, He will break his own record.

Just war is always righteous!

Part 9.

Being a soldier for the Word of God. Part 9.

We have began noting the age of accountability and we began approaching it from the perspective of the Christian Soldier. Like every doctrine it is multifaceted, similar to a perfectly chiseled diamond.

You can roll it around in your fingers and look at the sides and sparkle of each cut and corner.

The doctrine of the Cross is not simply about salvation nor is simply about payment for sins. Those are cornerstones of the Cross, but not the whole depth of it. The Cross probably covers a thousand realms of doctrinal answers in the spiritual life. The Angelic Conflict was resolved, the CA was being ushered in, The barrier between man and God was removed, the Trinity was about to make a dramatic shift from exterior to interior concerning the Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The sin issue was resolved, the Lord Jesus Christ was seated at the right hand of the Father and invited everyone who believed the same opportunity, the scriptures were fulfilled. Satan and the fallen angels witnessed the victory of the Lord Jesus Christ and the failure of the first Adam was removed.

So many things are attached to that one doctrine of the Cross… so it is with most doctrines from the word of God. Age of accountability and the term the point of God consciousness to the Unbeliever in the area of his or her salvation. God consciousness truly speaks to the time within a person’s life when they realize the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a serious matter.

God has appointed times that people, places and events will happen in our lives that will lead us to the Lord.

The Holy Spirit is always working in and around our lives…this includes Unbelivers. There are appointed times where God is knocking on our hearts to become born again and saved. He will do this several times over the course of many years and it may start at a young age. We simply can-not put a chronological age to that time. Just as we can-not put a chronological age to the time in your spiritual life when God says you have reached a point where you need to step into the Pre-designed plan and participate. God has set a time in our lives for everything.

For someone today it may be that time to finally accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior.

Ecc 3:11, He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God had done from the beginning even to the end.

The word time here points to an event or an occurrence that happens. It actually says that God has planted eternity within the human heart. There is a God shaped void in the heart of man. Whether this doctrinal lesson is speaking to the Unbeliever who, for tenth time in the last few years has heard the message of the Cross, but still refuses to accept it. Or it’s to the believer who has been born again and saved for 10yrs and refuses to grow up in God’s plan. There is accountability. There is a purpose, there is a plan, there is a battle raging around you! Ignoring it does not make it disappear. If accountability wasn’t an issue why was Adam and Eve removed from the garden? Why was Abraham life’s complicated with strife and difficulties after making a choice to follow his wife’s instruction instead of waiting on God. In fact God was silent in his life for about 13yrs after that affair with Hagar.

The Apostle Paul was warned not to go to Jerusalem by the HS several times. He went back and started to backslide, getting involved in Judaism which is a form of reversionistic legalism. Moses lost his blessing of seeing the Promised Land.

When we look at the interactions between Pharaoh and Moses, we can see accountability concerning salvation. Pharaoh was given every opportunity to repent and he certainly was at a point of God consciousness. He knew who the God of Abraham was, because he had perpetuated the slavery of his people. The result that Pharaoh suffered a loss of his son after all the time he spent rejecting the PPOG is accountability. God is in the business of forgiveness and love and grace but He is not mocked.

Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

God will do everything in His power to draw you toward Him…He will be patience and longsuffering but when the misery and pain enter your life it will be because of your own free will not a cruel punishment designed by God. Paul made it clear in the book of Romans chapter 1. God gives the foolish, stubborn and wicked over to their own lusts. There is a time table connected to your life. A divinely implanted sense of purpose working in our soul over the ages that nothing under the sun can satisfy except God. That purpose starts with salvation…then it develops into growth.

We know that every word of scripture is inspired by God, God breathed. God’s word is designed for instruction & guidance, 2Ti 3:16-17 All scripture is inspired by God & profitable. 2Ti 3:16, All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness. so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

All Scripture is GOD. That is why when you hear the term “the Bible is the mind of Christ” it is true! The word equipped in verse 2Ti 3:17 is a Greek verb meaning finished or accomplished to perfection. It is designed to give us a full source of problem solving devices, give us comfort and bring us completely through the course until the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

But it once again comes down to free will…dedication, commitment accountability on our part. You have those who will fight against the truth of the word of God. No matter how you present it and feed it to them. Truth cannot be altered to suit human viewpoint, but human viewpoint can be adjusted to finally recognize truth.

Just like those that are living for this world, the unbelievers whom we saw stood against the people of God in the lives of Gideon, David and Joshua do not want to believe in accountability to God. They will buy into human viewpoint, they will believe on human strength and will bet on cosmic game plans for their lives.

Any avenue but Bible Doctrine. They will consider it legalism if you explain something like the age of accountability to them. They will say that’s not true…don’t lay that guilt trip on me. But as long as you explain with compassion and understanding…if and when they reject truth it is not on you!

Realize many believers and certainly unbelievers think that the Bible is a nice source of inspiration but it’s not suited for this life. Not for this day and age and it has no real value in their lives. The great thing about truth is it marches forward without any help from human effort…in fact truth needs nothing to sustain it or stick up for it. It always finds its way to the surface even after human effort to bury it or hide it or ignore it. Think about politics and celebrities who try to live in their own version of truth…they present a twisted version or expect you to buy what they are selling. Sooner or later it all comes out…maybe it’s too late…maybe it isn’t in time to rescue the innocent or point out the villain.

But it comes to the forefront sooner or later…steady slow marching unstoppable. How many times has a famous person or politician or even someone in your life had some ugly truth surface after years of living a lie?

God’s time and man’s time are two different zones!

Prov 28:5, Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all things.

Ignore God’s word all you want…it will slowly march forward without you.

Rom 2:5-6, A day of righteous judgment is coming, God will render to every man according to His deeds.

This is not about guilt…in fact truth is designed to set you free. If you feel guilt after doctrinal lessons maybe it’s because you are living in the wrong nature…maybe you have your own truth.

Truth is singular…there can only be one. Just like God…there isn’t Buddha, Muhammad and Dalia lama all sitting on a cloud together. One God in the form of the Trinity, One sacrifice for sin, One act upon the Cross, One savior, One decision for eternity…and sadly for some One judgment in the end.

Rom 14:12 states each one of us will give an account of himself to God. This is where God can look a person in the eye & say what did you do with the time I gave you? Here is what you could have had…here is what I wanted for you…here is what you chose for yourself.

Heb 5:13 speaks upon the believer who has not grown up…someone not ready to advance to any stage of spiritual growth. For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

This word gala in the Greek is always used for milk…but most of the time it is a metaphor pointing to a baby.

Meaning a believer who has been stagnant in the PPOG. The Exodus generation was caught up in it…Saul and David’s brothers were examples of it and those who left Gideon by the thousands when he was choosing men for the battle all had negative volition.

There are 6 stages of rejecting truth
.
Refusal to hear the word, not willing to make yourself available. Many believers do not even care about Bible class or the accurate teaching of the word of God. TV sitcoms and worldly relationships take precedence over learning truth.

Refusal to Rebound, no filling of the HS. There are those who do not believe in rebound and there are those who just don’t care enough to get in fellowship before taking in BD.

Refusal to use faith as a means to transfer what you have learned. Without faith it is impossible to please God. You have to have faith to apply something you have learned…in fact you need faith for it to remain within your soul structure.

Refusal to be consistent, no dedication to the PPOG. There are those luke-warm Christians who float in and out of church. Two months of doctrine six months in the cosmic system.

Allowing life distractions to become a priority over BD. This area is a direct result of allowing the devil’s system and schemes to infiltrate your life.
Emotionalism, a lack of mental stability.

James 1:19-25, Covers the majority of these issues. The book of James has a strong emphasis on faith…really an application of Christian principles. It may not come across like a book with deep doctrinal principles but it is important in the guidance and living of the Spiritual life.

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. for the anger of a man does not achieve the righteousness of God. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save souls. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in the mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

The word of God is the weapon we all need. Heb 4:12 says the word of God can cut through the cosmic junk you have developed, it brings to light the only truth! This one verse is very descriptive and is a symbol of what the word of God does to our inner being…our thoughts, our norms and standards and what it does to nourish the spiritual life.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

In salvation God the H.S. did all the work with only a positive thought upon our behalf to agree with the fact we are sinners and only can be saved by grace that was offered up on the Cross of Jesus Christ. It works very similar with learning BD, we put ourselves in front of a good teacher and get filled with the H.S..

After that our growth will depend upon our attitude and faith. How strong and how positive are you?

These principles are very important to note because when you get into accountability it all depends upon what you have allowed into your soul structure. Something circulating in your soul when you are filled with H.S. will be accepted and stored for later use or rejected for not fitting into the plan of God. What happens when you are not filled and you accept false doctrine or cosmic viewpoint is scar tissue of the soul. This is where MA sins and problems arise that play out in our flesh.

When your emotions rule it is turmoil! Jer 2:35. Yet you said, I am innocent; Surely His anger is turned away from me. ‘Behold, I will enter into judgment with you because you say, I have not sinned. Jeremiah is dealing with Israel again wandering away from God putting faith and love toward the things of the world, false gods and cosmic viewpoint. Forgetting the God that rescued them from the cosmic system of Egypt the slavery of sin. It’s amazing how cosmic Bel’s or Unbels have their own standards and view on what they believe is right or wrong in the sight of God.

The Bible is clear on God being long- suffering and patience…but there is also clarity with the fact that there is accountability and there our certain sins that bring discipline upon our lives. People that do not truly understand the Bible use it as a large, sloppy paintbrush to create their own vision. They do it in negative terms and positive to suit themselves. Adjusting the Bible to suit your lifestyle is sheer arrogance. This gives them comfort and stability…something to cling too. And that carries many believers an unbelievers for years until the reality of mortality and eternity stare them right in the eye.

For those that wonder if God has no compassion on people with disabilities or children and innocent animals, simple look at verses like Jon 4:11 ISa 30:18, Psa 68:10, James 3:17. These verses are a few among several pointing out how God deals with the innocent.

Jhn 4:11, Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as many animals?

The people described in Jonah here that are not able to tell right from left are very simple-minded people that God would never condemn. A child before the age of accountability is face to face with the Lord when he or she passes away…same goes for anyone with a mental disability. God is never unfair or unjust in His judgments.

Hymn #2

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

The mosaic Law. The main ingredients of the Ten Commandments.

We had the concept of Privacy and Private Property.

Privacy is a state of being apart from the observation and company of others. It is the natural right of the human race to isolation and seclusion.

Privacy, property, and life are the basic concepts of happiness and freedom.

There is the importance of the concept of Right Man and Right Woman. Divine Institutions #2 and #3, Marriage and Family, are protected by the principles in the Decalogue.

First of all, the pattern of the right man for the right woman was established at the creation of man, Gen 2:21-25; Prov 18:22; 1Co 7:17; Ecc 9:9.

Gen 2:24 For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

1Ti 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

The husband is also commanded in Col 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be embittered against them.

Col 3:18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

1Pe 3:6 Thus Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.

What about the woman, is she commanded to love the man?
No!

Respect is the pres-mid-subj of phobeo which means to respect, to be in awe of, to revere, to treat with deference, courtesy, high regard or reverential obedience.

When the right man initiates love to the right woman, she responds with respect.

Never marry a man you don’t respect. Because your feelings towards him are always strong, one way or another.

Because the key to a great relationship of love is not love and not hate, the key is respect.

When you love him, you’ll respect him.

When you hate him, you still respect him.

When you mad at him, you’ll still respect him.

When you’re glad about him, you’ll still respect him.

The thing that will be developed in the woman’s relationship with the right man is respect.

The thing that will be developed in the man’s relationship with the woman is a love, that is aggressive and an initiating love.

Beware about being sentimental about a man whom you do not respect.

Right woman, He built her, Gen 2:22.

b. Salvation, He did it, John 19:30.
Doctrine, He thought it, 1Co 2:16.
The first great decision that you make is to believe on TLJC as your Lord and Savior.

The second greatest decision you can make is your right pastor-teacher who can teach you Bible doctrine and the mind of Christ.

Then the third greatest decision is finding the right man or right woman God has designed for your life.

Because no disaster, pressure, or unfaithful act, can destroy personal love between a right man and a right woman.

Deut 32:4 “The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

James 1:17 Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above.

It should be no surprise that when the Lord gives you any gifts that the gift will perfectly suit you.

The doctrine of warfare or what the Bible has to say about war!

In spite of man’s efforts for peace throughout the ages, warfare will exist until the millennium, Matt 24:4 7.

Isa 2:4 Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and never again will they learn war.

In fact, war is used by God to kill off the leaches of society; in reality it is a cleansing agent.

This is why the Bible teaches in Ecc 3:8, that “There is a time for war, and there is a time for peace.”

There is a book of wars that comes directly from the Lord.

Num 21:14 Therefore it is said in the book of the wars of the Lord, what He did in the Red Sea, and in the brooks of Arnon.

The misnomer of war is the word “sword” in Matt 26:52, “for all who draw the sword shall perish by the sword.”
