Being a soldier for the Word of God. Part 6.

cross-1-1

Scripture References, Word & Phrase descriptions: the “Logos Reftagger” scripture links are hover pop-up active, meaning the scripture reference will just pop-up if you hover your cursor over it (don’t click on the link, just hover your cursor over it), when finished reading, hover your cursor off the scripture reference link. If the Reftagger pop-up doesn’t show all the verses, left click on the “More” button in the Reftagger pop-up window and it will take you to the online bible. If RefTagger pop-ups don’t work on your computer, that’s OK, try left clicking the link if it’s highlighted which should open a window with all the verses at the Biblia.com website; or if that doesn’t work, you can always use your Bible to look up the verses. Word or Phrase definition links may not have a website that opens. If you are running PCMatic, the pop-ups may not work; if that’s the case, email PC Matic Support to see if they can fix that problem for you.

Prepare yourself for learning the Word of God!

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is; you have believed [trusted] in Him for His promised gift of eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to learn God's Word so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge (confess) your sins privately to God (i.e.; with your thoughts directed only to God the Father).

1 John 1:9 says: "If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (known sins) and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [unknown or forgotten sins]." NKJV (New King James Version) [italics added]; we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins; the issue for you is to simply exercise faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life; when you do, you will instantly receive Eternal Life: John 3:16, 5:24, 6:47, 20:30, 31.

John 6:47 says: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life." NKJV [italics added]

Notice again what Jesus said in John 6:47: "…he who believes in Me (Jesus Christ) has everlasting life." It doesn't say, "will have"; it says, "has." Therefore, the very moment you believe in Jesus Christ for His promise of everlasting life, you have it (it's really just that simple; nothing more and nothing less), and it can never be taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift (Ephesians 2:8c) of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-15, 16, 17, 18, says: "14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for worship and learning God's Word. If there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

Study to show yourself approved to God!

STUDY TITLE:

Being a soldier for the Word of God. Part 6.

Eph 5:18, be filled with the Spirit, was removed from the spiritual life, you would be the vehicle of human power or human viewpoint to try and fulfill the great responsibilities described for us in this great Epistle.

You’d be functioning completely in the flesh apart from this marvelous statement in chapter 5 verse 18, Be filled with the Spirit. That is the heart of the whole matter.

That is the energy or power needed to fulfill Eph 4:1, “Walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,” That is the key to living the Christian life.

That’s at the heart of the whole matter. You could never walk in humility, Eph 4:2, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love, You could never walk in unity, as Eph 4:3 says being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. You could never walk different than the world walks, Eph 4:17. You could never walk in the light, as Eph 5:8 says, for you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light. Never walk in love.

You could never walk in wisdom unless you are energized by the Spirit of God. The life of God in the soul is the only thing that can produce that kind of living and therefore you see if that weren’t true then unregenerate people could live like that. So this is the heart of the matter in verse 18, it opens up to us horizons of tremendous understanding. We’d have to say that if you don’t know and obey Eph 5:18 you would be the biggest fool of all.

Eph 5:15, Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise,

The biggest fool of all would be the one who tried to walk in humility without the power of God. Or to try and live the unique kind of spiritual life. All of us need to accept the fact that we have all failed and have developed garbage in the soul but that we have a treasure in our human body as 2Co 4:7 says, But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves;

Notice that this power is of God, not of ourselves, however, also note that this power is found inside of our earthen vessels or human body. And this power comes from epignosis or metabolized doctrine, as stated in 2Co 13:4, For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we shall live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

The point is that you have to make a decision.

2Co 10:3, For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,

Our warfare in the spiritual life is neither physical nor fleshly; it is spiritual and therefore in the mentality of our soul. And the Lord has provided information whereby we can use our thinking of divine viewpoint as a basis of advancing in the spiritual life and handling any of the outside pressures that would come our way.

2Co 10:4, For the weapons of our warfare [that is our spiritual warfare] are not of the flesh [human attributes], but divinely powerful or attributes of power, for the destruction of fortresses.

Now, when it says that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh it refers to the fact that our weapons are not based upon a system of human viewpoint like defense mechanisms.

In fact, the word fortresses is the Greek noun ochuromaton which is a hapax legomena and it means arguments and reasonings one uses to defend themselves, that’s why it’s translated fortresses and therefore a perfect description of what many are concerned with defense mechanisms. There are many defense mechanisms that people use.

Acting-out is a defense mechanism in which a person acts without regard for negative consequences. They’re going to do what they want and they don’t care what the consequences are. They feel totally justified in doing what they’re doing.

And if they happen to hurt innocent people along the way….”well, that’s too bad,” – “it’s not their fault,” so they think.

This is a manifestation of overt bitterness due to a problem in the soul from the existence of garbage.

Eph 4:18-19, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality, for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.

By the way PSD 4 [PSD = Problem Solving Device ], Grace orientation and #5, Doctrinal orientation would handle this problem. The first two problem solving devices are involved in all of these because the PSD 3-10 cannot function without rebound and the filling of the Spirit.

Autistic fantasy is a defense mechanism in which a person substitutes excessive day dreaming for the pursuit of social relationships. In fact, soap operas really feed this need in people. Social interaction through day dreaming is much easier than direct and effective social interaction and the use of the problem solving devices. PSD #6, A personal sense of destiny would handle this problem.

Jude 1:8 describes them, Yet in the same manner these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh,

Denial is a defense mechanism in which a person fails to acknowledge some aspect of external reality that is obvious and apparent to others. Denial is a false perception of reality. This false perception of reality is necessary for some people because they must be good, they must be self-righteous, they can never be wrong, they must always be right. Therefore, they are very strong on self-justification and self-righteousness.

Prov 30:12, There is a kind who is pure in his own eyes, Yet is not washed from his filthiness.

PSD #1, the Rebound technique would handle this along with PSD #4, Grace orientation.

Dissociation or withdrawal is a mechanism which is employed when a person doesn’t want to deal with a situation. So, they run away and withdraw from those in the situation. This is strongly characterized in the last days as noted in 1Ti 4:1.

1Ti 4:1, But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

PSD #1 Rebound technique, PSD #4, Grace orientation, PSD #5, Doctrinal orientation, PSD #8, Impersonal love for all mankind, would solve this problem. One of the many benefits of living the spiritual life that God has provided just for you is to rid your soul of the garbage it has stored up throughout the years. All of us have stored or accumulated garbage in our soul, especially in the subconscious.

The subconscious is that part of our soul where we are not wholly or fully conscious of all the things that are there. And that means that many people have garbage in their soul and don’t even know it. In fact, there are certain transformations which take place that we are not fully aware of.

Psa 107:20, He sent His word and healed them, And delivered {them} from their destructions.

You might see the manifestation after years of doctrine and living the spiritual life that God has provided but you don’t really know that changes are taken place in the soul when they are. And there is a change that takes place in a believer’s life that causes the believer to become strengthened mentally.

Rom 12:2, And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed [pres-pass-imp] by the renewing of your mind,

The present tense speaks of your PVTD [positive volution towards doctrine]. The passive voice means that as you have your mind renewed or renovated, changes are taken place without you even knowing about it. And the imperative mood, this is a command. The same word is used in 2Co 3:18.

2Co 3:18, But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed [pres-pass-ind] into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Notice, we are not transforming ourselves nor are we to change ourselves, we are being transformed or changed. And again, this is a present-passive-indicative. How does garbage accumulate in the soul, in the subconscious and in the conscious mind? Garbage in the subconscious is described by psychologists under the term defense mechanisms. Defense mechanisms are designed to hide or to relieve the conflicts and stresses in the soul that cause anxiety, hysteria, fear, worry, or other categories of the emotional complex of sins, the worst being guilt.

Defense mechanisms are designed to bury any reaction you might have, any lack of esteem, any explanation for impulsive behavior or failure on your part. Defense mechanisms can resist all attacks of human viewpoint, human ability, human power; but God has provided in grace divine equipment and weapons to demolish these defense mechanisms in the soul. What are these

weapons that allow us to launch an attack against defense mechanisms in the soul?
The greatest weapon we have in both spiritual warfare and life is what we think! No matter how you slice it, the factor that motivates, empowers, and strengthens a believer is his thought pattern! If the believer is thinking human viewpoint, he is open to satanic infiltration. Furthermore, he is useless, miserable, and indistinguishable from the unbeliever. On the other hand, the believer with doctrine in the right lobe has divine viewpoint on the launching pad ready for application in order to assault any defense system in this intensified stage of the angelic conflict.

Any thoughts that you have which are not the thoughts of our Lord Jesus Christ must be taken prisoner or captive and pushed aside. The reason why you are to take the thoughts captive or as a prisoner is simply because you are not to share these thoughts with others or allow these thoughts the freedom to go elsewhere. Even if the thoughts are sick thoughts…that’s not a problem when you understand that the Bible says that without God’s thoughts, Isa 1:5-6, The whole head is sick, And the whole heart is faint. From the sole of the foot even to the head There is nothing sound in it,

We are to take every thought or making a prisoner of every thought [contrary to the will of God] to the obedience of Christ;

2Co 10:6 And we are ready to punish [this is the result of having metabolized doctrine as an instant reaction force in your soul] all disobedience or deviation from truth, whenever your obedience is complete…or when you continue in your perception, metabolization and application of Bible doctrine.
You can only capture erroneous thinking and supersede it with correct thinking by metabolizing Bible doctrine.

Another defense mechanism that people use is idealization, a defense mechanism in which a person attributes exaggerated positive qualities to self or to others. When others are idealized, we call that role model arrogance. When self is idealized, we call that self-righteous arrogance or making a role model out of self. This mechanism of idealization usually makes hypocrites of people.

Rom 12:3, For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

These people enter into abstract thinking so that they do not deal with who they really are. PSD #3, The faith-rest drill, PSD #5, Doctrinal orientation, PSD #7, Personal love for God the Father, PSD #10, Occupation with Christ as the priority solution to life, would handle this problem.

Intellectualization is a defense mechanism in which a person engages in excessive abstract thinking to avoid reality or experiencing some very disturbing feelings about self. This mechanism only serves to complicate their problems.

1Co 3:18-21, Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become foolish that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness before God. For it is written, “He is the one who catches the wise in their craftiness”; and again, “The Lord knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are useless.” So then let no one boast in men.

PSD #4, Grace orientation, PSD #9, +H [the Happiness of God] or sharing the happiness of God.

Isolation is a defense mechanism in which a person is unable to experience what is really happening around them or in their life. They feel isolated from their problems because they cannot deal with their problems…, So they must dump part of it into the garbage can of the subconscious to isolate it from the rest of their soul. Isaiah talked about this in Isa 44:20 when he said He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside. And he cannot deliver himself, nor say, “Is there not a lie in my right hand?”

They don’t even realize that they have problems.

PSD #3, The faith-rest drill and PSD #7, Personal love for God the Father, would handle this problem. Again, I hope you realize that the first two problem solving devices are involved in all of these because the PSD 3-10 cannot function without rebound and the filling of the Spirit.

Projection is a defense mechanism by which a person takes their own flaws, sins and failures and assigns or projects them to others.

Many times, they are not even consciously aware of doing so because their arrogance has blinded them! In assigning their flaws to someone else they rid themselves of their own failures and they elevate themselves. And this creates a problem in the soul which keeps out metabolized doctrine on the one hand and destroys metabolized doctrine on the other hand.

We saw Joseph’s brothers doing this.

Gen 50:15, When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph should bear a grudge against us and pay us back in full for all the wrong which we did to him!”

PSD #4, Grace orientation, PSD #8, Impersonal love for all mankind, would solve this problem.

Rationalization is a defense mechanism which devises reassuring or self-serving but erroneous explanations for one’s behavior. This is rationalizing an action which the believer knows is not biblical but they feel they have the right to be as they are or decide as they do. In this mechanism, the person becomes offended easily because they do not love the Word of God as Psa 119:165 says Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

PSD #1 Rebound technique, PSD #4, Grace orientation, PSD # 5, Doctrinal orientation, would solve this problem.

Repression is a defense mechanism in which the believer is unable to remember or to be aware of disturbing lusts, wishes, or feelings, or thoughts, or experiences related to sin. It is the unconscious exclusion of painful impulses, desires or fears from the conscious mind. This happened to Abraham in Gen 15 where the Lord had to speak to him in a dream to deliver him from repressed fears. PSD #2, The filling of the Spirit, PSD #3, The faith-rest drill, PSD #4, Grace orientation, PSD #5, Doctrinal orientation, would solve this problem.

Suppression is a defense mechanism in which the believer intentionally avoids thinking about disturbing thoughts, problems, experiences, or feelings. A lot of unbelievers do this when it comes to thinking about the fact that God exists.

Rom 1:18, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

PSD #7, Personal love for God the Father and PSD #10, Occupation with Christ as the priority solution to life would solve this problem.

Altruism is when a person engages in gratifying service to others because they want to be liked and so try to earn approval.

John 12:43, for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God.

PSD #6, A personal sense of destiny, PSD #7, Personal love for God the Father, PSD #9, +H or sharing the happiness of God, PSD #10, Occupation with Christ as the priority solution to life would solve this problem. This type of person ends up on a works program and cares too much about what others think.

Controlling is when a person attempts to excessively manage or regulate events, objects, or people in their environment. This is the domineering mother or the bully. An example of this is found in Luk 10:38-42 where Martha tries to control Mary.

PSD #3, The faith-rest drill, PSD #6, A personal sense of destiny, PSD #7, Personal love for God the Father, would solve this problem.

Devaluation is a defense mechanism where the person attributes exaggerated negative qualities to self and others. This type of person is always putting self and or others down…other wise known as a pessimist.

PSD #4, Grace orientation, PSD #8, Impersonal love for all mankind would solve this problem.

Displacement is a defense mechanism which attaches to a neutral object mental consents which were originally attached to someone or something else. This is when a person starts falling in love with their boat or their car or their animals because they were hurt by someone else!

PSD #5, Doctrinal orientation, PSD #6, A personal sense of destiny, would solve this problem.

Hypochondria is a defense mechanism where the person becomes preoccupied with physical symptoms disproportionate to any actual physical disturbance. The pain can even be very real to these people. A lot of people use this when they’re simply tired and do not want to function socially…so they fake sick!

PSD #5, Doctrinal orientation, PSD #6, A personal sense of destiny, PSD #7, Personal love for God the Father, PSD #10, Occupation with Christ as the priority solution to life would solve this problem.

Direct attack is a defense mechanism in which anger is used as a solution to the problems and frustrations of life.

This type solves problems by such things like temper tantrums. When they make wrong decisions and are caught in the act, instead of admitting they are wrong, they begin to attack others to try and switch the blame. They get on the offensive and attack because they don’t know how to handle their mistakes. This is a total state of irresponsibility by refusing to take responsibility for one’s problems and failures.

Direct attack has three objectives.

1) The satisfaction of approbation lust by focusing attention on self. This is when an individual who is not being recognized will attack someone who is.

2) The second objective of direct attack is the satisfaction of power lust by controlling the people in your vicinity.

This is the abuse of authority and taking advantage of those who are inferior, or in your opinion, stupid!

3) The third objective is the gratification of inferior feelings by getting even under revenge.

Many believer’s end up in direct attack because they have revenge motivation.

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9 says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins].” NKJV (New King James Version)

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES
Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

The giving of the Mosaic Law.

Spiritual, moral and social life are in a state of disintegration.

They are closely related to a subject with which many people are familiar but about which they know very little about— the Ten Commandments, or the Decalogue (Exo 20:1-20).

Occasionally, young people find themselves in a position where they are required to memorize the Ten Commandments.

On the other hand, there are those in this country who have never been near a Sunday School, do not attend a church, and may not even have a Bible, but are knowledgeable regarding the Ten commandments or the Decalogue.

(1) Exo 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

(2) Exo 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

(3) EXOxo 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

(4) Exo 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

(5) Exo 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.

(6) Exo 20:13 “You shall not murder.

(7) Exo 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery.

(8) Exo 20:15 “You shall not steal.

(9) Exo 20:16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

(10) Exo 20:17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

6. “You shall not murder.

7. “You shall not commit adultery.

8. “You shall not steal.9. “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. Exo 20:17 “You shall not covet”

What is generally not understood is that all ten of the commandments are a summary of God’s principles pertaining to freedom not just sin.

Such as child molestation, fear, worry, and doubt etc; Such as passages as 1sa 12:23 “Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you;

The point is that there are so many sins that are not mentioned in the Ten Commandments.

Each of the Ten Commandments is backed up by a series of divine laws which were given for the protection and happiness of both believers and unbelievers in Jesus Christ.

1. Even though the Mosaic Law is not our modus operandi today, the commandments have always applied to the human race in general. Codex I – Freedom Code; the Decalogue or Ten Commandments.

2. Codex II – Spiritual Code; which includes the complete shadow presentation of Christ and His saving work.

3. Codex III – Establishment Code; civil statues of Israel.

What is known as the Ten Commandments called also the Decalogue summarizes a system of “spirituality-morality” — not one or the other, but a combination of both.

For you if you are spiritual, you will be moral but if you’re moral you may not be spiritual.

The first five commandments declare the principle of spirituality or the possibility of establishing a relationship with God; the last five apply to man’s relationship toward his fellow man.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2.You shall make no idols.

3.You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

4. Keep the Sabbath day holy.

5.Honor your father and your mother.

The last five apply to man’s relationship toward his fellow man.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet.

To the Jews of the generation of Moses to whom the Law was given, these things were important because they were a generation of believers and our Lord did not want the commandments to be principles of morality without the concept of relationship with God.

The Ten Commandments are not a set of specific, detailed laws. but are the principles God has set forth for the protection of life, liberty and property of a people within a national entity.

Prin-No group of people can survive as a national entity without a basic system of spirituality-morality; and where these commandments and principles found in them are violated by a maximum number of people, that nation will be destroyed.

The influence of the Decalogue.

The reason can be attributed to the fact that in the past this nation has adhered to the principles found in the Decalogue.

Let’s begin with the concept of Privacy and Private Property.

Today we have a tragic breakdown in law; therefore, the protection of privacy and property is being eroded and the law is being subverted to promote socialism.

The very essence of socialism is an invasion of privacy and private property. Socialism, when carried to the extreme, results in the types of government which exists today in Communist countries.

You can immediately see that when a nation promotes anti-divine principles and makes those principles a part of its legislative laws, then socialism becomes the law of the land.

The Concept of Right Man and Right Woman. Divine Institutions #2 and #3, Marriage and Family, are protected by the principles in the Decalogue.

The Concept of Military. One of the great objectives of the Mosaic Law is to provide a stabilized population of young men who are willing to defend not only their right woman, but every right woman for every right man in a nation.

“What about ‘Thou shalt not kill’?” As we shall see in our exegetical study of the sixth commandment, the word for “kill” should be translated “murder”; therefore, it has nothing to do with military life.

This situation could be drastically changed if the military were made up of a believers with Bible doctrine or even unbelievers with the principles of the divine institutions in their right lobes.

The Biblical principle in fighting a war calls for the defeat of the enemy, and that entails killing and neutralizing the enemy.

You do not stop wars by playing games with the enemy; you stop wars by KILLING THE ENEMY!

In spite of man’s efforts for peace, there will be warfare until the Second Advent of Jesus Christ (Matt 24:6; Mark 13:7; Luke 21:9).

Prin-You cannot stop wars by being a peacenik; you cannot stop wars by disarmament. The only way to stop war is to be ready for war; and adequate preparation demands a strong military!

The Jews in the Old Testament had the greatest military record of any national entity in the ancient world, with the possible exception of the Assyrians.

It was the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of Hosts, the Commander of the Armies, who gave the orders for the Jewish Army to fight and defeat, and in some instances, to annihilate the enemy.

Part 5.

We have now established the fact that God will not stand by while members of the Christian soldiers need to repent or changetheir system of thinking as they go forth in the greatest battle ever fought and the greatest victory ever won. God takes stern measures to alert them to their critical situation and to encourage them to rebound and reenter the Pre-designed Plan of God (PPOG). In His perfect wisdom, God knows when and how to warn each believer.

God knows the most effec¬tive way to confront us with the fact that we are totally de¬pendent on His grace. The Christian under discipline may doubt that God is treating him in grace, but he could not imagine how much more he would hurt if God were not acting in grace.

God punishes believers, but not because He likes to see us in pain. He is perfect. He is just. We are His children, the royal family of God, and He disciplines us and punishes us for our own benefit. By definition then, divine discipline is the sum total of punitive action taken by the justice of God in grace to correct, to punish, to encourage, to train, to motivate the believer’s free will toward the PPOG. Divine discipline is for believers only, Heb 12:8, and occurs only in this life, not in eternity, Rev 21:4).

Rev 21:4, and He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin or the old sin nature; and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, Nor faint when you are reproved by Him;”

In other words, in apostasy they were not successful in combating the old sin nature and its problems. Obviously from verse 4 the believers involved, the original readers of this passage, had failed and become casualties in the angelic conflict. As members of the royal family of God they were not doing too well. Often we fail and we do not do too well because we forget.

We have a way of forgetting things. And this is why Moses warned the Jews in Deut 4:1-9, “And now, O Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I am teaching you to perform, in order that you may live and go in and take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you. You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. Your eyes have seen what the Lord has done in the case of Baal-peor, for all the men who followed Baal-peor, the Lord your God has destroyed them from among you. But you who held fast to the Lord your God are alive today, every one of you. See, I have taught you statutes and judgments just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do thus in the land where you are entering to possess it. So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is the Lord our God whenever we call on Him? Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole law which I am setting before you today? Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons.”

Or in Deut 4:23, “So watch yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which He made with you, and make for yourselves a graven image in the form of anything against which the Lord your God has commanded you.”

Then in Deut 6:10-12, “Then it shall come about when the Lord your God brings you into the land which He swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you, great and splendid cities which you did not build, and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and hewn cisterns which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be satisfied, then watch yourself, lest you forget the Lord who brought you from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.”

Deut 8:1-14, “All the commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to give to your forefathers. And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. And He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. Thus, you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son. Therefore, you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land where you shall eat food without scarcity, in which you shall not lack anything; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are satisfied, you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you. Beware lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments and His ordinances and His statutes which I am commanding you today; lest, when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built good houses and lived in them, and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and gold multiply, and all that you have multiplies, then your heart becomes proud, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

We forget that each one of us is here on this earth by courtesy of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we are only here until He sees fit to remove us, and that can be done at any time. Whatever makes us arrogant or proud, whatever the source of our vanity, it can be removed very rapidly. So, we often forget that the source of everything that we have, the source of everything that we are, is totally dependent upon who and what Christ is. Therefore the very thought of neglecting the source of everything that is wonderful to us is ludicrous.

If you look back on your life you may regret the fact that you did not spend more time with someone you love, or that you did not understand someone who was in your life until you had enough sense and maturity to appreciate them. Whatever it is, people generally have an area of regrets. One of the things that is so important is to have few regrets in life. Few regrets means the sooner you grow up, the sooner you have capacity for life.In other words, the sooner you have maximum doctrine in your soul, the better off life will be.

Heb 12:5, and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, Nor faint when you are reproved by Him;”

So we have the phrase, And so you have forgotten, You have forgotten your lessons. The word for forgotten has a different connotation related to apostasy and fallen away and it means to forget altogether. It means a total blackout of memory on some point. It means to forget something entirely and it is like not knowing it in the first place. The verb is an obvious result of apostasy¬. The writer of Hebrews is back on the subject of fallen away as of this point. This causes the believer to forget Bible doctrine, forget Jesus Christ, forget grace, forget everything that is important, and get involved in an entirely new thought pattern. This is when the soul undergoes a phenomenal change in apostasy. The things you ought to remember you forget and the things you ought to forget you remember.

As a member of the royal family of God you become petty, vindictive, implacable, a frantic search for happiness type, all of the things whereby you are no longer worthwhile in life.

Prov 3:11-12, My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord, Or loathe His reproof, For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father, the son in whom he delights.

David was teaching his son doctrine; and he says in effect do not refuse, reject, to despise, or melt away when the Lord reproves. Hence, to melt away in the sense of rejecting the purpose of divine discipline. Discipline is designed to put us back on the road to glory. Ultimately discipline is always de¬signed to improve, to better a situation, to reach an objective, and discipline is really a matter of the soul. Children are tender when they are young, they have tender souls, and that is the time when discipline pays off. Discipline is designed to put the royal family on the road to glory. This is a reference to the various stages of discipline in revers¬ionism, the warning stage, the intensive stage, the dying stage.

Each stage is designed to warn the believer that he is off of the road to glory. Each stage is designed to warn the believer of his apostate status and to motivate a change of attitude toward doctrine, the use of rebound, and the daily function of PMA of BD.

Prov 3:11-12, My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord, Or loathe His reproof, For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father, the son in whom he delights.

Most people think that when parents are strict when they are unkind. They think that those who are permissive are somehow loving. A permissive parent is stupid and unloving. Now, the word love is the qal imperfect which means that God keeps on loving us. He always will love us. He loves us in revers¬ionism, He loves us in supergrace. The only difference is that His love manifests itself in different ways toward the individual. He loves you by blessing you in supergrace. He loves you by discipline and punishment in apostasy but the love is still there.

Prov 3:12, For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father, the son in whom he delights.

The son is growing up and now the father handles the discipline. The father loves his son but he disciplines his son, and he prepares him for life by doing so. The father can do this for his son and can prepare him for life and this means discipline.

Heb 12:6-15, For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, And He scourges every son whom He receives. It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

Divine discipline is a warning that the believer is outside the boundaries of God’s plan. Just as a football game is played inside the boundaries of the playing field, so the plan of God must be executed within the God’s boundaries or the PPOG.

2Jo 1:9, No one has fellowship with God who keeps advancing out-of-bounds and does not remain on the playing field through the doctrine of Christ. He who resides in it [PPOG] keeps on having fellowship both with the Father and with the Son.

Just as the referee blows a whistle when the ball-carrier steps out of bounds, so God blows a whistle on us and administers divine discipline when we live outside the PPOG for any length of time. When a believer cuts off his fellowship with God through sin and remains in the cosmic system, God in His grace must deal with him as a child. Bible doc¬trine has been ignored so God must get the believer’s attention through pain.

Divine discipline from the Lord is part of parental training in the royal fam¬ily of God. The premise in this passage in comparing divine discipline with child rearing in the home is that, except for the humanity of Jesus Christ, there is no such thing as a perfect child. Some children are unquestionably better behaved and more responsive to instruction than others, but every child needs training so that even¬tually he will be able to function in an adult society. Parents try to instill authority orientation in their children. They should because anyone who leaves home without authority orientation makes himself a monster who will manufacture misery for himself and others under the law of volitional responsibility.

On the spiritual side of the analogy, there is no such thing as sinless perfec¬tion in this life, again with the exception of Christ’s impeccable humanity. As long as any believer lives in his mortal body, in which the old sin nature resides, he will continue to sin. As he matures spiritually, he will sin less frequently and perhaps will commit different categories of sin, but periodically he will succumb to temptation and enter the cosmic system.

If the believer remains in the cosmic system, his thinking loses touch with the reality of God’s plan. Under prolonged cosmic influence, his ar¬rogance becomes antagonism toward God and therefore he multiplies his own unhappiness and incurs divine discipline. And so like parental training, divine discipline is designed to inculcate humility, which is orientation to reality and authority. Only the hum¬ble believer is teachable, Psa 25:8:9. He desires to understand how he fits in the over-all scheme of God’s grace. And only with humility can anyone be objective and responsive to the authority of Bible doctrine.

Although self-evaluation when accompanied by arrogance rapidly slips into subjectivity, we have the responsibility to analyze our lives. We should be first to recognize our own weaknesses.

1Co 11:31, But if we judged ourselves rightly, we should not be judged.

If we do not, divine discipline enforces humility on us, teaching us to see ourselves as we really are in relation to God and His marvelous plan. The very fact that we receive discipline from God tells us we are divorced from reality and that God is bringing us back to grace-¬oriented objectivity. And from that solid footing we can rebound and resume our spiritual growth. Therefore, because of corrective discipline, we need to endure it.

Heb 12:7, It is for discipline that you endure;

This is a command to endure suffering inside the PPOG. In other words, rebound! And after rebound, keep applying doctrine! So Hebrews 12 continues with an explanation of divine discipline in terms of parents and children. The entire passage should be cited as documentation of God’s magnificent purpose in disciplining His own.

There are three different categories of divine discipline;

1.Warning discipline

2. Intensive discipline

3. Dying discipline

God is never inconsistent in administering discipline: His punishment is always appropriate to the individual in question. As Peter said in Acts 10:34, I most certainly understand that God is not one to show partiality,

Col 3:25, For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.

From His perfect divine justice, all discipline not only fits the violation but also matches the believer’s receptivity and the ability to lead him to rebound and recovery. When the believer does not use rebound, these three categories of discipline are progressive. Mild discipline gives way to more and more severe discipline if the believer fails to respond. The believer who refuses to live in the PPOG receives warning discipline, added to the misery he has already created for himself under the law of volitional responsibility.

He has isolated himself from fellowship with God and he has shut Christ out of his thoughts. However, the combination of warning discipline and self-induced misery adds up to a significant shock. Because he has not yet degenerated into the later stages of negative volition, this believer is still sensitive to the truth.

He can still profit from this degree of discipline so that God does not have to proceed to the next stage of punitive suffering. He can still hear the knocking on the door as it were. God can catch his attention with relatively mild suffering. However, if the believer ignores or rejects divine warnings, he eventually requires in¬tensive discipline.

By habitual negative volition he has dulled his sensitivity to truth; warning discipline is no longer sufficient. God still has a marvelous plan for blessing this cosmic believer, but God’s plan can be executed only in the power of the filling of the Spirit. No believer who refuses to submit to a pastor-teacher can ever be filled with the Spirit because they are living in sin from refusal to submit. However, God continues to support him with logistical grace, keeping him alive so that he might return to God’s plan for his life.

1) The Christian way of Life is a supernatural way of life. As such it requires a supernatural dynamics for its execution (Phil 2:12-13).

2) The filling of the Holy Spirit is the second of the ten problem solving devices found in the Word of God, and solves the problem of our inability as a frail man to serve God, by empowering the believer for the fulfillment of the Christian way of life.

3)The filling of the Spirit may be defined as the Holy Spirit’s control of the believer’s soul. The Spirit’s control of the believer’s soul is the essence of Christian spirituality.

4) The filling of the Spirit, as an experiential reality in life, must be distinguished from other ministries of the Holy Spirit, such as the baptism of the Spirit (1Co 12:13), regeneration (Titus 3:56), the indwelling of the Spirit (John 14:16-17), and the seal of the Spirit (Eph 1:13).

5) The filling of the Spirit also solves the problems with the believer’s lifestyle (e.g., legalism), as attempting to execute the spiritual life or Christian service in the energy of the flesh.

6) The filling of the Holy Spirit involves access to the power of God for the Christian life.

7)) The filling of the Spirit is essential for spiritual combat, and for the prevention of satanic influence of the soul (Eph 6:1012), and, when coupled with the “Main Line of Resistance,” called “the full armor from God,” is sufficient to win the battle over satanic influences.

If Eph 5:18 was not in the Book of Ephesians the book of Ephesians could never be fulfilled? You would never be able to fulfill Eph 2:10, For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Eph 4:24-32, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth, each one of you, with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Think of it, if this one verse, Eph 5:18 was deleted from this book everything in it would be legalistic. If this one verse was removed you would be the great engine, the great vehicle described in chapters 1 to 3, you would still have your road map in chapters 4, 5, and 6 but you wouldn’t have any fuel to get you going anywhere. You’d be functioning completely in the flesh apart from this beautiful statement in chapter 5 verse 18, Be filled with the Spirit. That is the heart of the whole matter. That is the energy of the worthy walk. That is the key to living the Christian life. That’s at the bottom of all of it; you can never walk in humility, you can never walk in unity, you can never walk different that the world walks, you can never walk in the light, you can never walk in love, and you can never walk in wisdom unless you are energized by the Spirit of God.

The life of God in the soul of man is the only thing that can produce that kind of living. And so this is the heart of the matter in verse 18, it opens up to us horizons of tremendous understanding. And by the way I guess we’d have to say that ah, if you don’t obey chapter 5 verse 18 you’re the biggest fool of all.

In verse 15 it says, See that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise.

And the biggest fool of all would be the one who tried to walk a humble oneness, a unique kind of life, walk in love, walk in light, walk in wisdom, fulfill all the will of God and do it in the flesh, that’s the biggest fool of all. A Christian must do it in the power of the Holy Spirit. And so in our subject of the Spiritual Warfare and the Art of War we begin by dealing with The Spiritual Transformation Which Cleans Out The soul of the Onward Christian soldier. All of us need to accept the fact that we have all failed and have developed Garbage in the Soul.

The following link is to a good news message describing how one can receive eternal life: Ticket to Heaven, it was written for anyone not absolutely certain about their eternal future.

Hymn #2

Unlike the bible study, these notes are not just for reading without watching the video. These notes are more designed to follow along during the sermon and to bring up the “hover pop-up scripture references” (some websites may require to left click the link, if that doesn’t work then look them up in your Bible) when the Pastor asks everyone to turn to that passage in their bibles.

The Mosaic Law. The real purpose of the Mosaic Law.

We have now come to that point in our study of Dispensations with the most important subject of the Old Testament dispensations which is the given of the Mosaic Law.

One of the main reasons why our Lord had to intervene with the overruling will of God by giving the 10 commandments was to get the human race back on track and not continue on the road to self-destruction.

I have chosen to begin the subject of the Mosaic Law by giving you an outline of what we mean by the Law because unlike the Roman Catholics and the Seventh Day Advents, there is far to the spiritual like then following do’s and don’ts.

Most Christians are shocked when they realize that following the Ten Commandments are not a part of living the spiritual life.

Our Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled those commands in place of us or “for us” or on “our behalf.”
Exo 14:13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.

Psa 57:2 I will cry to God Most High, To God who accomplishes all things for me.

Psa 138:8 The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Thy lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Thy hands.

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;

The Mosaic Law is divided into three general categories —- Theologically they are called; Codex #1; Codex #2; Codex #3.

Codex one is the Ten commandments, or the Decalogue.
This is known as the freedom code.

There can be no freedom without morality which can be fulfilled by both believers and unbelievers.

The Ten Commandments define human freedom in terms of morality, privacy, property, and authority……it does not define how to live spiritually.

One of Satan’s greatest victories has been to blind people from the doctrine of Dispensations and deceive them into thinking that if they follow the Ten Commandments they will be pleasing to God.

Rom 8:8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Now, the ten commandments also define human freedom in terms of the divine institutions and relationship to God, authority, and sin.

While some sins are mentioned in the Ten commandments, its purpose is not to define sin.

The sins mentioned are intrusions upon privacy, property, and freedom.

Gal 3:24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor [school bus] to lead us to Christ, that we may be justified by faith.

Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”

Answer: First of all the Mosaic law was not given to us as gentiles or it was also not given to the Church.

The Mosaic Law was given specifically to the nation of Israel (Exo 19; Lev 26:46; Romans 9:4).

Lev 26:46 These are the statutes and ordinances and laws which the Lord established between Himself and the sons of Israel through Moses at Mount Sinai.

The Mosaic Law was also given to reveal the holy character of the eternal God to the nation of Israel; Lev 19:2; 20:7–8)The Mosaic Law was also to set apart the nation of Israel as distinct from all the other nations (Exo 19:5).

Exo 19:6 and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. ‘These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”

Reveal the sinfulness of man (cf. Gal 3:19). Although the Law was good and holy (Romans 7:12), it did not provide salvation for the nation of Israel.

“No one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin” (Rom 3:20; cf. Acts 13:38–39).

Provide forgiveness through the sacrifice offerings but ultimately the main sacrifice, our Lord Jesus Christ; (Lev 1-7), for the people who had faith in the Lord in the Lord and in the nation of Israel.Provide a way of worship for the community of faith through the yearly feasts (Lev 23)

Provide God’s direction for the physical and spiritual health of the nation (Exo 21-23; Deut 6:4–19; Psa 119:97–104).

Cause people, after Christ came, to see that they couldn’t keep the Law but needed to accept Christ as personal Savior, for He had fulfilled the Law in His life and paid the penalty for our breaking it in His death, burial, and bodily resurrection (Gal 3:24; Rom 10:4).

The believer in Christ has the very righteousness of the Law fulfilled in him as he obeys the Holy Spirit who lives within him (Rom 8:4).“Are you trusting in yourself to keep all the Ten Commandments all the time (which you can’t do)?”

“Have you made the choice to accept Jesus as your Savior, realizing that He has fulfilled all the commandments all the time for you, even paying your penalty for breaking them?”

The point is that there are a lot of benefits and blessings that those who follow the Law or the Ten Commandments can attain ….. except for two very vital important doctrinal principles; salvation or spirituality.

Therefore, human freedom has something which is the guardian of freedom: authority.

Codex Two is known as the ordinances, Exo 25:1 31:18, or the spiritual code = emphasizes the fact that believers are designed to function under both the laws of divine establishment as well as bible doctrine in the soul.

As the marriage counselor, in Rom 7, Codex Two points out the solution to the first marriage to the old sin nature as salvation.

The ordinances are the spiritual heritage of Israel. – They are the theological code designed to present Jesus Christ as the only Savior.

The structure of the tabernacle (Exo 25 27),

The delineation of the holy days (Lev 23:10ff),

The way of life for Levitical priesthood (Exo 28 29),
and the significance of the Levitical offerings (Lev 1 3).

The third part of the Mosaic Law is known as Codex #3 which deals with the judgments in a courtroom, the establishment code, or the national heritage of Israel.

Codex number 3 included every principle related to the function of a client nation to God which includes an elaboration of freedom and authority, privacy, rights, property, privileges, marriage, military policy, taxation, diet, health, sanitation, quarantine, criminal law, trial, punishment, and laws of evidence, Exo 21:1 23:9.

It’s interesting that this code included the function of free enterprise and profit motivation, but rejected all forms of socialism and the welfare state.
Morality mandated by the Mosaic law was for both believers and unbelievers; it was not the means of spirituality.

Morality is not spirituality.

Spirituality is infinitely greater than morality.

Spiritual, moral and social life are in a state of disintegration.

They are closely related to a subject with which many people are familiar but about which they know very little about— the Ten Commandments, or the Decalogue (Exo 20:1-20).

Young people find themselves in a position where they are required to memorize the Ten Commandments.

There are those in this country who have never been near a Sunday School, do not attend a church, and may not even have a Bible, but are knowledgeable regarding the Ten commandments or the Decalogue.

1) Exo 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

2) Exo 20:4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.

3) Exo 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

4) Exo 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5) Exo 20:12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.

6) Exo 20:13 “You shall not murder.

7) Exo 20:14 “You shall not commit adultery.

8) Exo 20:15 “You shall not steal.

9) Exo 20:16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10) Exo 20:17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Introduction to the Mosaic Law.

God not only dealt with the rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram , the 250 princes, but also He dealt with 14,700 rebellious Jews that the Lord disciplined with a plague.

One of the main reasons why our Lord had to intervene with the overruling will of God by giving the 10 commandments was to get the human race back on track and not continue on the road to self-destruction.

Giving you an outline of what we mean by the Law because unlike the Roman Catholics and the Seventh Day Advents, there is far to the spiritual like then following do’s and don’ts.

Most Christians are shocked when they realize that following the Ten Commandments are not, I said, “ARE NOT APART OF LIVING THE SPIRITUAL LIFE.

“How” God gave us commands to follow, and our Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled those commands in place of us or “for us” or on “our behalf.”
certificate = ‎‎cheirographon which means a manuscript, a legal document or bond, literally it refers to the command of the Lord.

Every member of the human race owes God perfect righteousness and sinlessness.

Originally, He created the human race perfect in a perfect environment but the human race turned and followed Satan and his lies instead of TLJC and His truth.

When Adam was created in the Garden he was sinless not innocent…that’s a lousy word.

When Adam fell he put the whole human race in debt to God.

Prin-It is very rare for a person to make a decision which is totally their own decision.

Adam made a decision to put the whole human race in debt.

All of us owe God sinlessness and all of us owe God a righteousness with which He can live and that’s what Adam had….but lost……but our Lord got back.

It was a righteousness, sinlessness, a volitional type of the function of the soul to give people freedom to choose to live with our Lord or gamble to think that they can make it without Him…..on their own.

We owe God righteousness and sinlessness and frankly none of can pay the debt.

The more you grow, the more refined and sometimes the more subtle and the more unrecognizable your sins become.

He cancelled the IOU.

When it says that God cancelled the IOU it doesn’t mean that God overlooked sin.

Prin-It was through the cross that the IOU was cancelled.

A part of His perfection is the fact that His character cannot be corrupted and that His character cannot be compromised.

Dogma means absolute truth and dogmatic truth as well as decree — it means His ordinances, statues, rules, commandments and in this case it is a reference to the entire Mosaic Law.

The Mosaic law was the divine standard that God uses to demonstrate the sinfulness of the human race as well as his principles of establishment.

We are told that the believer has died to the Law, Gal 2:19.

The Law brings nothing but condemnation, Gal 3:10-14.

The law is a bondage to the believer, Gal 4:9.

The believer must keep all the law, if he would attempt to keep even part of it, Gal 5:2-4.

The persuasion to put the believer under the law is not from God, Gal 5:7-8.

The ten commandments also define human freedom in terms of the divine institutions and relationship to God, authority, and sin.

While some sins are mentioned in the ten commandments, its purpose is not to define sin.

The sins mentioned are intrusions upon privacy, property, and freedom.

Therefore, human freedom has something which is the guardian of freedom: authority.

Codex two is the ordinances, Exo 25:1 31:18, or the spiritual code.
This emphasizes the fact that believers are designed to function under both the laws of divine establishment as well as bible doctrine in the soul.

As the marriage counselor, in Rom 7, Codex Two points out the solution to the first marriage to the old sin nature as salvation.

The ordinances are the spiritual heritage of Israel. – They are the theological code designed to present Jesus Christ as the only Savior.

The structure of the tabernacle ( Exo 25 27),
The delineation of the holy days (Lev 23:10ff),
The way of life for Levitical priesthood (Exo 28 29),
and the significance of the Levitical offerings (Lev 1 3).

Codex Three is the judgments, the establishment code, or the national heritage of Israel. This includes all of the political and functional heritage of the nation Israel.

Codex 3 = an elaboration of freedom and authority, privacy, rights, property, privileges, marriage, military policy, taxation, diet, health, sanitation, quarantine, criminal law, trial, punishment, and laws of evidence, Exo 21:1 23:9.

It’s interesting that this code included the function of free enterprise and profit motivation, but rejected all forms of socialism and the welfare state.

Morality mandated by the Mosaic law was for both believers and unbelievers; it was not the means of spirituality.
