Hymn #2

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9 says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins].” NKJV (New King James Version)

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

NOTES

IDENTITY #1 – is found in Rev 17:1 “Come here, I shall show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,

IDENTITY # 2 – Rev 17:2 “The kings of the earth committed acts of immorality, and those who dwell on the earth were made drunk with the wine of her immorality.”

IDENTITY #3 – Rev 17:3 “I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.”

IDENTITY #4 – Rev 17:4 And the woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality,
Main colors = Purple and Scarlet – used of our Lord they represents His Divinity, His royalty and His dignity.

In the tent or the tabernacle, the scarlet colors symbolized the blood of Jesus, and purple symbolized His Divinity or His symbol of being King and God.

The gorgeous outer garment worn by the High Priest in the Old Testament was called an ephod, and the robe of ephod had these colors as well as blue.

The High Priest wore a turban on his head, on which a plate of pure gold was engraved the phrase, ‘HOLINESS TO THE LORD.’

The color blue pointed to ‘the water,’ that is, the baptism of Jesus.
Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist to take on all the sins of the world (Matt 3:15).

The reason why there had to be a blue yarn in the gate of the court of the holy tabernacle was because we could not become sanctified symbolically without the baptism of Jesus.

The Scarlet material represents His blood, the death of Jesus. Purple refers to Jesus’ Godhead, thus Jesus’ status as “The King of kings and Lord of lords” (1Ti 6:15).

1Ti 6:15 “He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords;”

The great harlot being dressed with these colors and having a golden cup which “cup of gold” represents her wealth and together the colors and the wealth represent her power and authority.

Isa 14:14b ‘I will make myself like the Most High.’

Mrk 13:5-6, And Jesus began to say to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He!’ and will mislead many.

Mrk 13:22 for false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders, in order, if possible, to lead the elect astray.

2Ti 2:4 who opposes and exalts himself above every so called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

The contrast to this beautifully impressive exterior is that her cup is filled with “immorality, abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.”

She deceives many by her appearance. Although she looks beautiful and has the trappings of wealth, luxury and authority, her actions are an abomination to God.

The main colors of the Bishops and Cardinals in the Catholic Church are Purple and Scarlet?

The Roman Catholic Church is one of, if not THE most wealthiest institution in the world?

The Vatican is definitely decked out with gold and precious stones?

The Vatican has had produced, you will also see images of a woman with a golden cup in her hand on them. Blatantly boasting of who she is!

“The unclean things of her immorality” refers to the sins of the RCC which are immense, with its idolatry, murder, child abuse and so on, that she has committed throughout her history, and CONTINUES to commit.

When the mark of the Papal Church is enforced upon the world, THEN the message of Revelation 18:2 will go out to the world, and her fall into apostasy will be COMPLETE!

IDENTITY 5 – Rev 17:5 and upon her forehead a name was written, a mystery, “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

Just like Eze 8, if you recall the secret rooms in the Temple which we call “the chambers of imagery or images.”

One of the signs of a pseudo-Church or a false religion, especially in the cults, are the secret things that go on within the organization that’s in view.

The difference is when we talk about a mystery we teach that it can be known by anyone who desires to know it.

Matt 13:11 “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,

Eph 1:9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him.

The RCC and the papacy did what all cults do, they keep the mysteries hidden from the majority.

Eze 8 = The secret rooms in the Temple which we call “the chambers of imagery or images.”
It can happen to a pseudo Christian organization, it happens in cults, it can even happen to a believer on a personal basis.

Pr 24:3 By wisdom [metabolized doctrine] a house [or an edification complex or soul structure] is built, And by understanding [doctrinal insight] it is established [one prepares himself];

Pr 24:4 And by knowledge, the rooms [of the soul, the seven compartments of the soul] are filled With all precious and pleasant riches which means something of value and something stimulating].

Pr 24:5 A wise man is strong, And a man of knowledge increases power.

The Hebrew word for man is geber which means a soldier, a warrior, a valiant person.

Pr 24:5 A wise soldier is strong [which means he lives in the power of doctrine], And a man of knowledge [doctrinal insight] increases power [the power to resist the kingdom of darkness and hold your ground].

Pr 24:6 For by wise guidance [guidance from doctrine] you will wage war [offensive- defensive], And in abundance of counselors [counsels from doctrine] there is victory.

Eph 4:27 Stop giving the devil an opportunity or a room.

Ps 19:12 says Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.

The NKJ version says Ps 19:12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults.

There is a secret room in every heart where the soul stores up its skeletons, and in many cases, refuses to even admit that there’s a problem.

Sometimes others will see the manifestation of it but because of love not say anything about it.

These things are totally different and contrary to the character of the individual and therefore are suppressed and hidden in the secret chamber of men’s hearts.

They hinder and sometimes even destroy a believer’s confidence with their relationship with God.

1Co 4:4 For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord.

Many believers have skeletons in their closet or what is known as a secret room which is very confidential, private, and undisclosed.

Israel is a picture of the believer’s soul and we can extrapolate many wonderful principles from their experiences, whether good or bad, 1Co 10:6, Rom 15:4.

1Co 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

The appearance of fire represents the vengeance of God against the wickedness which was going on in the Temple.
1Ti 6:16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light;

The idol or the image of jealousy was probably Baal or Asherah, whose image had already been placed in the temple by Manasseh in 2Ki 21:7.
1. The worship of a physical object or objects as God.
2. Inordinate attachment or extreme devotion to something.

Jealousy is used as an anthropopathism which explains divine policy in terms of man’s frame of reference.

Notice that the Shekinah glory was still in the Temple even though there was an idol which was being worshipped secretly by the elders in the Temple.

Even though a believer might have a secret room in the soul which he has given over to the Satan and the kingdom of darkness through self-centeredness, that TLJC still doesn’t leave the believer’s body.

The Jewish king and the Jewish elders would allow their friends and the people to go into every part of the Temple except one.

Just like a lot of believers can look like they have everything together as the temple of God and yet there may be areas in their life that need to be dealt with…….however, only by them.

Matt 23:27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.

Jn 7:24 “Do not judge according to appearance”

You are the temple of God, 1Co 3:16; 1Co 6:19 – just as there was a secret room for idol worship in the literal temple, many believers have secret rooms in their soul filled with idols as well.

If it is hindering your relationship with God, it needs to be brought to the light and dealt with.

“in the room of his carved images?” is translated in the K.J.s “in the chambers of his imagery” which is a little more applicable in our day and age.

There are rooms in the souls of multitudes of Christians where there are all kinds of idols, errors, secret faults, fears, insecurities and doubts.

Just like this room in the temple was sealed off, many believers seal off their own room as well.

Sometimes this room is filled with the idol of fear, worry, anxiety.

Sometimes with the idol of lust or love for money.

Sometimes it’s a room of insecurity, instability and doubt.

Sometimes it’s a room where personal weaknesses are allowed to continue because the individual does not know how to overcome them…..or in some cases, doesn’t want to.

Even by testing the structure of the wood, you couldn’t tell that there was this secret room behind the wall in the temple.

Jeremiah had a similar principle like this in mind when he said in Jer 17:9 “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; Who can understand it?

Paul had this principle in mind when he said in Rom 7:15 For that which I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.

It is a room untouchable by man but touchable by God!

Of all the rooms in the temple, this one room had the potential to have more light from the outside than any other.

On the top of each room in the temple, on one wall, each room had light trays which could slide over to let in the light.

This particular room had four walls where light could be let in, if they desired to, but they did not!
